Oh Happy Day

Michael Bloomberg, dissatisfied with underlings running for president, rolls up his sleeves and gets set to do the job himself. The press dials up the "fawning" meter a few notches as "Big Daddy" enters the fray. The DNC has it's prayer answered. The middle road, bipartisan candidates fade into the wallpaper. However, there are those pesky voters that need to be dealt with. I think there's a saying based on Physics, that if you punch a wall, the wall punches back just as hard. I hope so.

I am hoping It's Bloomberg, Steyer, Warren, Gabbard, Sanders standing after the dust settles. People deserve a choice. The press has already decided that the left hates the wealthy because they want to take back some of Richie Riches tax cuts, so that draws a line. Can't wait for the rest of the lines to be drawn, and the lies and propaganda to come. I am very interested to see the line that Bloomberg draws between he and Trump, because the biggest difference I can see between them is style. If only Leona Helmsley were alive.

I am sure somebody here will write something way better than this, but 'till then I'll just be doing the Happy Dance.

Bloomberg cleverly saw that the Howard Schultz split was open and decided to ooze into it: hurray. Just as the flakes and chaff were starting to be winnowed out a greedhead decides to indulge his vanity. On the plus side, maybe his appearance will provide more fuel for the wealth tax.

@MinuteMan more than plaster before the wall hits back. If anyone deserves a broken nose after it gets stuck too deep in national politics, it's Mikey B.

Wouldn't that be a wonderful 2020 Presidential choice , a race between two New York Oligarchs?

I doubt that Bloomberg will do much more than suck up maybe 10% of Biden's vote come Super Tuesday March 3rd 2020 and take a few votes away from other corporate centrist candidates. Let Holder get in there too. Let 'em reap what they have sown via their circular firing squad. The DNC has it's prayers answered? Sounds more like they are getting what for them will be a nightmare scenario. Tsk-tsk. My cup is sure to runneth over with corporate centrist tears.

His response to the gotcha question “Will Americans be forced to drive electric cars?” was “Americans are going to love driving electric cars!” Which is so true, but no one seems to want to try them. So I get to outmaneuver ICEs in heavy traffic for a few more years. At least until everything catches fire.

...spread across the Primary stage, they seem so coordinated and interchangeable. All of them embrace the same ideology of authoritarian corporatism (tinged with their creepy obsessions over god, guns, and other people's reproductive organs). No matter how many of them are competing for the same job, none of them are likely to make waves or color outside the lines. Even their bonkers misfits, like Ben Carson and Sarah Palin, stick to the GOP script, until they drive off the cliff. (Of course, Donald Trump changed all that.)

But this unity of purpose is not present in the Democratic field. How many different ideologies are stuffed inside the Democratic Party, anyway? I'm counting three. It's a party with multiple personalities, and at least one full-blown psychosis. They are all pulling in very different directions. It's no easy job to herd this flock. I am amazed that Nancy Blair's head doesn't rotate 360 degrees.

Clearly, the Party Bosses are going to use the clashing ideologies to achieve the outcomes their Big Donors paid for. But until the Democrat's multiple parties break out and stand on their own — particularly the Authentic Left or People's Party — the Democrats may find it difficult to win national elections. Too much resentment is created on the inside, where the American working class is not represented.

Seems like Clinton used and cast off Harris and now Warren . . .

I figure Bloomberg is in the Hillary circle and will just run as a stalking horse for her and to screw over Biden to ensure he can't win on a first ballot at the convention.

Did you see the news? Mike Bloomberg is filing paperwork to run for President of the United States.

Just what America needs...another billionaire using his wealth to try to buy an election.
So why is this happening? The truth is, it’s because Mike Bloomberg and his friends in the financial elite are scared. And they should be.

Because when we are in the White House, they are finally going to start paying their fair share. When we are in the White House, their time controlling the economic and political life of this country will come to an end.

But Mike Bloomberg is a man of extraordinary wealth, and one the corporate media just loves. He is running in part because we are doing so well, and he will use that wealth to stop us. So we need your help — especially today:

Can Bernie count on you to make a $27 contribution to our campaign right now as a way of saying you have had ENOUGH of billionaires buying elections in this country?

The most important message we can send to the billionaire class right now is that our movement is more powerful than their money. A contribution of any amount will send that message.

Thanks for making your contribution to our campaign today. It matters a lot.

In solidarity,
Faiz Shakir
Campaign Manager

Sounds about right. I'm curious how Hillary, Warren, and Yang will be reacting.

In a way I like this because no matter how constrained the so-called 'debates' are the subject of the gross inequality in our society, and the suffering it brings may be something too big to ignore no matter how hard the 'moderators' may try to suppress the subject.

Not gonna happen with Bloomberg in person on the stage with a ego standing out like a blinking light and who might as well be wearing a 'day-glo' colored suit with a target painted on it.
Ask him how much tRumps tax cuts gave him, then add to that how much from the ten year period of GW Bush's' tax cuts, then project the figures into the future considering Barack Obama wouldn't let GWB's tax cut legislation 'sunset', in fact Obama made almost all of the gits to the very wealthy permanent.

I think this will really help Bernie's campaign because he's been talking about the incredible economic disparity for many decades with very little airplay, and Elizabeth Warren will jump aboard any popular proposals Bernie highlights, although in a watered down version of course.
In fact I expect Tulsi Gabbard will be sincere in her support, unlike the rest of the group who will be exposed eventually if not on that night by their responses.

says so on the label. If Bloomberg wants to run, fine. Just let him run for the Republican nomination. Let him run ads and debate El Trumpo on how the Republicans needs to move left and be more moderate. If beating Trump is what you feel is important, do it in the primary. Let's get as many old white billionaires on the debate stage as possible. Give them super soakers, banana cream pies, and nerf bats while we're at it. Television at its finest.

a billionaire ran for and won the presidency? No, the media reaction would be elation! Only if - if in a foreign election would be won by a candidate out of the gutter would there be mass media indignation. We've seen this response over and over - a rich candidate wins, great! A slob from the ghetto wins, boo!! Like Matt Taibbi and Jimmy Dore say - it's not a left / right question, it's an elite / proletarian election campaign...

As much as I despise that idea, I will forever bow to the greatness of the defense attorney who coined the phrase, and won. Pure ass genius. I will never get to use it, since every single defendant I represent is dirt poor.
I have been paid with yard eggs (murder conviction appeal. 3 dozen.) and Pentecost Church contributions (aggravated assault on a police officer. ) The Church raised $232.00 and I took it and I took that case to damn suppression hearing, and it was dismissed, and I lost a few thousand bucks dealing with it, but did put the District Attorney on notice that that I will do that.
I will always do that.
