Tulsi Gaining in South Carolina, Tim Ryan Drops Out
A new Post and Courier Poll in South Carolina has Tulsi at 3% in that state for the first time. To the best of my knowledge, this is a non-qualifying poll.
Tulsi has long struggled in southern states, so I guess her blast at Clinton perked some people up down there!
Biden has long been dominant in the south, with a 20 point lead over rivals in South Carolina; but in this poll, Warren closed that gap to just 11 points.
In other news, the first of Tulsi's debate casualties--Tim Ryan--announced he is leaving the presidential race. You may recall that Tulsi took him to task for stating that the Taliban attacked us on 9/11, when in fact it was al-Queda. Ryan's campaign never really recovered after that--not that it was ever soaring to begin with.
One less poser in the running . . .

No harm in theorizing.
Could be any of those, could be all three.

It's gobsmacking that these talking heads get paid an obscene amount of money to spout out "predictions" about what anyone will do based on bupkis.

I think it's a matter of which talking heads
Look, Tulsi has obviously burned her bridges with the Democratic Party elite even if Bernie, Biden (because he decided he needed to try to stop Hillary from entering the race) and a couple muppet candidates have defended her. She may indeed continue her campaign but I don't see her getting many if any delegates. In other words, I simply don't see her as a viable candidate because of the 15% threshold required in a state to get allocated delegates. In which case, she becomes a spoiler for another or other candidates. I can't help but notice that there are two candidates she won't criticize: Biden and Bernie. Make of it what you will. I am not sure what it all amounts to . . . And while I don't think Tulsi will run 3rd party, I like the idea of it being percieved as a threat by the likes of Hillary and her D-Kos rhoids. It will keep Hillary out of jumping into the race. Finally, this is a crazeeeeee political year. Who knows what anybody will do? Maybe Tulsi will wind up in a Biden or a Sanders administration. Maybe she will wind up as a FOX host. One thing I'm pretty sure of is that she will not take a job in the Trump administration which the insideous DKos nits seem to believe. I'm surprised that I haven't read any of them comment that she will be moving to Russia.
Maybe she'll end up writing cookbooks for the blind
We could speculate all day about what anyone might do. But that wasnt my point. And neither was weighing in on the machinations of our dubious electoral process. I was commenting about the farce of these Left vs. Right panel "discussions" where over paid bloviators vomit up sound bites each night. YMMV. And to each his own.

Grizelda was one of several characters on a Canadian kids'
show called The Hilarious House of Frightenstein. You can find lots of it on Youtube these days. It was a thing of genius. Although it seems at first glance to be aimed at 7 or 8 year olds, the reality is that it was much too sophisticated for pre-teens. My friends and I were big fans from Grade 7 through 9.
Probably the most amazing thing about the show was that the entire thing -- over 100 hour-long episodes -- was taped in less than a year. The brains behind the whole thing was a comedian named Billy Van, who plays several of the show's characters. Apparently, to save time and production money, they did the different characters' skits in batches -- thus, all of the Grizelda skits were taped over a few weeks, so that Van could stay in the makeup for all of each days' filming, and only one set had to be managed/maintained.
The second most amazing thing is what I just said -- Billy Van played almost all of the characters. This was not obvious to us initially, despite the fact that when the credits rolled, there was a long series of Billy Van, Billy Van, Billy Van scrolling past (but not attached to any particular character).
The third most amazing thing is that somehow they got Vincent Price to come up to Toronto for a week and shoot dozens of recitations of quirky little poems.
I can't even fathom how they managed to write all the stuff in such a short period of time.
See what you gave up for all that warm California sunshine?

While you had Grizelda, here in Los Angeles we had "Elvira". She was so popular, my Sister went dressed up as Elvira for Halloween one year. Definitely not for children.

Elsewhere on the internet, you can find photos of
"Elvira" in the altogether. Before she was Elvira she was "the youngest-ever showgirl in Las Vegas" and at some point posed for, um, I think she posed for Playboy, but then later Penthouse bought the photos and used them. Or something. I forget the details. I know that she's naturally more of a redhead, she's a vegetarian, and she looked really, really good with her clothes off.
Also, she once went on a date with Elvis. She used to hang out with those older Vegas entertainer dudes -- she partied with Sammy Davis, Jr.
Cassandra something or other.

Hmmmm...
Interesting bit of trivia there.

She's a reasonably remarkable individual.
She created the Elvira character herself, specifically for her audition for that hosting role. She's been offered boatloads of cash to pose nude "as Elvira", but has declined, not because she's hesitant to show off her assets (like I said, you can google her up and find the photos), but because she feels it would "devalue" the character (I don't remember her specific word choice, but it was something like that).
She also doesn't kiss and tell. She's never said boo about what actually happened on that date with Elvis, or when she visited Sammy at his house, etc.

From a perspective of cognitive psychology,
there certainly is harm in theorizing -- you end up talking yourself into believing stuff that isn't supported by evidence. In other words, you become delusional.

Tulsi is leading us somewhere...
Don't know where her latest Fox interviews are going, but evidently they are leading us somewhere, I'll definitely stick around to see where this is all going though. Man, it is getting exciting!!

I think the reason Tulsi appears on FN
so often,
, is the same one that explains Trump's overuse of Twitter: both of these politicians are denied a voice over the neocon-majority MSM. Faced with that reality, you either go silent (i.e. disappear) or you take any megaphone you can get. If we had an equitable media, they wouldn't have to make such a choice.Lurking in the wings is Hillary, like some terrifying bat hanging by her feet in a cavern below the DNC. I'm not suggesting that she's looking for
a job on FN,
, rather, I think Tulsi simply needs a means of getting her message out to the American people. Otherwise, she cannot campaign at all.Lurking in the wings is Hillary, like some terrifying bat hanging by her feet in a cavern below the DNC. Trump isn't blocked
Theory X on Tulsi Gabbard
Tulsi has long said that she wants to take the Democrat Party back to it's roots. I applaud this after seeing what we've become. To get us back to this "root" party you have to first "root out" the ROT in your own party. This may take us a while to do, even a lost election or two. This has happened to our party through the Clinton Foundation's donations, Markos Dkos' intelligence operation and the "MSNBC Democrats" campaign - we let it happen folks and road back ain't gonna' be short. Let's give Tulsi the chance and see if we can rebuild the party to something that would get us back on good step with Chris Hedge's vision and let us manufacture some "consent" ala Noam Chomsky. So I see NO third party coming, no Fox News host aspirations but only a struggle to get back a party that has run amuck. I'm afraid this is going to be a slow grind - but it IS a beginning guys...

I'll modify what I said above about Tulsi meeting with Wall St.
If she's going into the Lion's den to confront them and shame them, I think it's foolish but won't leave her. I'm old and cynical. She's young. As a parent and a grandparent, I know sometimes the young have to learn the hard way.
If she's gone to reassure them that she isn't going to nationalize everything and that honest bankers (I have to pause to stop laughing) have nothing to fear from fair regulation, then it's a good publicity stunt. Maybe she's putting daylight between herself and Bernie. I have no problem with that. But I'll be watching for a sell-out.
I've been sold down the river by politicians so many times that I'm in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico.

Reminds me of the CIA deputy director
At least I think it was the deputy director who committed suicide by shooting himself in the back of the head with a rifle while fishing in a small boat on Chesapeake Bay. At least according to the Washington Star and the CIA. Quite a trick, I assume he was double-jointed.

I'm sorry, but
how could anyone limit their life's work to merely modifying a political party,
? Surely she's aiming for something broader and more meaningful than that. The battle is so much bigger than "party."Lurking in the wings is Hillary, like some terrifying bat hanging by her feet in a cavern below the DNC. A bat with theropod instincts. -- Fred Reed https://tinyurl.com/vgvuhcl

The "big picture" is the direction our nation
will take,
, meaning which set of values, principles, and goals are to hold the reins as we move into the future. Currently, many of us see the primary division lying between the needs of the people vs. the needs of corporate wealth. Since both parties are now funded by, and therefore beholden to, corporate wealth, we know that the essential division is not split along party lines. Knowing that, we give our support to the candidate(s) whose goals best align with our own, regardless of "party."Bear in mind that our Constitution does not even mention political parties. It assumes citizens (not parties) electing their government. That is the basic principle of representative democracy.

Yeah, it's harder now to confront the real "fascist" system
and I don't use the term "fascist" lightly... We've been confronted by the real meaning of "fascism" lately and I'm not sure the term is meant to be the same by "Antifa" groups. My meaning of fascism is when the government colluded with industrial power houses to gain power and profit - I'm saying Google, Facebook and Twitter as examples, let alone the oil industries. Yes, it's going to be a fight, a real fight, one that will hurt us all for a time. I'm one for giving anything a try though, be it MFA or closing down 196 military bases around the world. If something can't continue it will eventually stop - that's where we as a nation stand now...

As the race currently
appears to be coming down to just two, Warren vs Bernie, it wouldn't seem likely she would be thinking of a 3d party candidacy for the fall.
I could understand if it appeared that it would be a race between Amy Klobbachair and Kamala.
I just don't see her doing something so stupid as to start a 3d party next year -- she would clearly only be helping Donald, and would be scorned and shunned thereafter by Ds and progressives for crimes far worse than what Nader supposedly committed. Her political career would be over.
