The candidates speak out on Hillary's accusations
Very disappointing. I’d gladly discuss her record of supporting Russia’s actions in Syria, Assad, LGBTQ issues and many more. Happy to chat anytime.

This is infuriating. Literally everyone knew Clinton was talking about Gabbard and they're pretending Gabbard is being irrational by acknowledging the obvious fact that it was about her. That plus "If you don't deny McCarthyite smears you're guilty" is despicable. #IamTulsi https://t.co/t8g7gIf35a

Zombie Russiagate won't die
The Clintons and their proxies will be the death of the Dems.
No it's not going to die on its own
It's going to take people waking the f'ck up and see how they have been manipulated into supporting McCarthyism.
Clinton fuels new 'red scare' with political attacks against Gabbard
I left a lot out cuz of fair use so read this at the source. It's ridiculous how so many people who are mainly Hillary supporters jumped on the red scare wagon after growing up hearing about the original red scare. Boy I'm sure they have made their parents proud.

The measure of a candidate, or really anyone, is how and where they show up.
Is Hillary Clinton in Flint or Standing Rock or Harlan County, KY or anywhere organizing and advocating? Fuck no! Is she seeking out attention when she or her family are selling something? You betcha!
Were I still on Twitter
I'd say that it isn't the first time an American politician accused serving military of being Russian assets.
It was disgusting then, and it's disgusting now.

Did I miss Bernie's defense of TG ?
I have seen one from Bernie yet
He just got done with his big rally so maybe something is coming soon. Marianne Wilson also spoke in favor of Tulsi but I couldn't find it again for this.
The CNN one takes the cake. "She doesn't deny that she is a Russian asset."
Heh...
If she floats then she is a witch.
also
If she sinks, she's a witch that refused to use her evil powers to confirm she's a witch.
Has Hillary Clinton ever said she herself was not a Russian
Can't believe that MSNBC panel. Insanity.
Bernie shouldn't have to wade into every Clintonite sh*tshow
He has plenty on his plate. This BS is a Trumpian distraction, don't play into it.
Doesn't anyone understand that "Not me, us." is not just something for a button or tee-shirt? This is a big job and expecting Senator Sanders to do it all is just unrealistic.
These reactions are overall very disappointing
I get that the candidates are hesitant to say anything; I'm not saying I support their lack of backing Tulsi, just that I understand not wanting to risk the attention. It should be the press knocking down Clinton's doors, demanding an explanation, calling her out for this ridiculous rumour-mongering (particularly inappropriate from a former SoS), and going to bat for Tulsi. That said, I believe any response from the other candidates should include "I invite Hillary Clinton to substantiate her claim and offer proof."
As for Omnishambles Clinton, can this plague SIT DOWN and shut. The. Fuck. Up. Remember when she couldn't stop tooting her own unity horn, and is now accusing people of this?! This ghoul of politics past never ceases to enrage me with her attention-seeking stunts.

BTW, wasn't Tad Devine, who was a top Bernie spokesman in 2016 (not sure of his position now) related to Andy Devine?
Heh, disappointing ...
Rather cowardly of many of them, imo, the ones hiding from making comment so far. This one doesn't take hours and days of deep thinking and consultation with staff. 15 minutes to compose an official response strongly condemning Hillary's McCarthyite charges; 5 minutes if using Twitter.
So far only Marianne, Yang and Beto have passed the moral leadership test. One candidate, the favorite of 93% of the posters here, is notably silent. Biden, Bootajudge and Liz also.
It will be interesting to see how some of the cheerleaders for Bernie in the media spin his silence. I'm thinking Jimmy Dore, Jordan Chariton and Krystal Ball in particular, all of whom aren't shy about loudly calling out the deficiencies in other candidates. For the moment I'm sure they are hoping everyone will focus on his big rally yesterday and the AOC endorsement and not bother them to comment about that other thing as it works its way through the news cycle and eventually fades away.
Edit: Pete this morning has now spoken out generally condemning or disagreeing with Hillary's charges as not being backed by evidence. So that makes 4 candidates who've stepped up, though Pete just barely.
I'm willing to give him a little more time--
but if I don't see something from him in the next couple of days, I'll mount a serious critique of him on this site.
I like Bernie; I think he's a good man doing a good thing. That doesn't mean he's immune to criticism.

Let's not forget
that Gabbard quit the DNC to back Bernie at great cost to herself.
She was finished as a mainstream Dem after that.
Could be that HRC hostility to her has root there.
His silence is "deplorable."
imo
I think JTC elsewhere spoke to this kind of poking Bernie
. . . but that's my take.
I would hope
that my (rather mild) criticism is within bounds.
If that's not so, then JTC might want to let me know.
fwiw,
1. I gave a lot (for me)of money to Bernie in 2016.
2. Bought and wore his t-shirt, made phone calls, and canvassed door-to-door.
3. Went to his first rally in our state.
4. Got "timeouts" on Kos for refusing to shut up about him. That's why I came here.
5. Voted for Bernie in our primary.
Simply put, I was a huge Bernie fan in 2016 and would vote for him in 2020.
But when he falls short, I will speak up. (if permitted)
Don't think it is wrong to point out that TG has been the one to talk about the way the Clinton machine cheated Bernie. Stuck her neck way out for him in 2016 when it counted.
Where I come from, you stick up for your friends. Still hope Bernie will manage a word in her defense. More for his sake than hers at this point- she seems to be doing fine without his help.
thx. no problem here.
Not deplorable
Of course the word "deplorable"
was used famously by HRC to describe Trump supporters.
I put it in quotes in my original comment- this was meant to inject a bit of humor which seems to have escaped you.
As to Bernie's tweet of Monday afternoon- I say "better late than never" and "beats a blank".
Since you went to the trouble of finding JtC quote-
It seems to me that he is talking about supporters attacking one another and does not say that it is wrong to criticize a candidate like TG or HRC or even Bernie.
Just my take.
Now let us rock.
I don't remember...
saying anything like that.
If I did please show me where.
I won't drone on about it but .. .
. . . to me at least, using the term "deplorable" towarda Bernie or Tulsi is tantamout to finger wagging, and it even smacks of Clintonism, but whatever. I ain't da boss. Don't wanna be, either.
I sincerely hope that nobody here feels the need anymore to suggest Tulsi or Bernie is "deplorable" or somesuch epithet especially given that Bernie has now tweeted (and I'm sure he'll even be more forthcoming in coming days) in defense of Tulsi.
Take it for what y'all will:
I said that his
silence was "deplorable" which is not a personal attack.
fwiw.
Now let us rock.
Tulsi has been silent about and hasn't defended Kshama Sawant
I wouldn't suggest that her silence and inaction is deplorable. But that's me. Rock on.
You misunderstood...
that comment. It was about how we treat each other here at c99, not how we treat politicians.
I can accept that as a community guideline
. . . and will abide by it but I don't feel comfortable with it. Then again, I'm not interested in instituting what some folks call a safe space.
For my two cents, it's not a good idea to be casting biting aspersions on any kind of lefty since we are so few and far in between. Disagreements, sure. But I think there should be a line. This Hillary crap should put a nail in the blue no matter who crowd. Click on any tweet posted and see how horrible people are in supporting Herheinous saying what she did. The link to stupid people is a good place to start. But once the democrats pick their candidate people are going to say that this election is theeee most important because we have to get Trump out of the WH. Please refer back to the second tweet here. Hillary had pushed even more people away from the DP. Great job Hills!
I'm seeing a mix of reactions on Twitter
Yeah I'm seeing lots of tweets like that
It's just amazing how people could change as much as they have since she lost. Neera is tweeting about how Hillary created CHIP. Sure that was good, but she also destroyed welfare as it once was. Now after your unemployment runs out you're on your own money wise. No safety net at all for millions.
Team politics, party before policy, projection,
These are just a few of the reasons I think people are #stillwithHER. Mostly it’s ego. To admit Russiagate is BS and HER lost because HER was a terrible candidate would mean having to admit they were wrong. It seems no one in the duopoly can do that anymore so everyone just yells louder.
My two cents anyway.

Remember that Hillary is the one politician
that we know for sure employs propagandists to influence the internet with both human influencers and bots.
I'd be surprised if she doesn't still have David Brock, or someone like him, doing work for her--or for the DNC, which is basically the same thing.

I just read a long winded tweet about bots
The guy analyzed a series of tweets about Tulsi and the warmonger tweet and came to the conclusion that there were many Russian bots that promoted it. I replied that it was Hillary's campaign team that sent out its correct the record bots during the last primary. Brock spent $1 million on getting people to go on websites to tell people that they were wrong about their opinions on Hillary. BTW. I read that this was borderline election fraud. But laundering $84 million through the DNC was definitely election fraud and so far she has skated. But we will always know that she had to cheat to beat Bernie and she used her party's intelligence to spy on Trump and dig up dirt and she still lost. Now that is some legacy don't you think?
Then of course most of her election team is working
for Liz and Kambama so yeah, she is still using her dirty tricks to sway the election.
Yep.

That Hillary smear is so stupid politically. Utter arrogance.
The Hillary crowd has argued that the Russians were able to move just enough votes to make her lose. And what does she do? Michael Tracey who follows Tulsi said that the majority of her supporters are democrats as he has attended her rallies, talked to people, consulted contributors list, etc. Clinton alienated supporters of a candidate who is polling 2%-6% of the DEMOCRATIC PARTY base.
Hillary is trying to insert herself into the primaries. I believe this attack is just a setup to go after Bernie, and open up the corporate media to ask if Bernie is a Russian asset.
It will be Hillary and her coherts who will finally destroy the democratic party.
No doubt, Bernie is going to get a full throttle

weighs in on the Hillary comments, in his moderately moderate way. Could have been a time to go less moderate, but it's moderate Pete, and it's better obviously than Kamala's cowardly evasive non-response. It barely makes it over my bar for acceptably adequate responses in the current situation.
I was actually surprised at Jake Tapper's negative view of Hillary's remarks -- it's an evidence-free smear, and why don't Democrats go after the accuser the way they go after Donald for smearing Dems.
Apparently Jake is not on the Clinton payroll. Nor Van Jones.
Pure "poetry"; also Tim Black thinks Tulsi can now win it all
Watch Tim Black become so effusive of this moment, saying every time he's been ready to walk Tulsi pulls him back in. Going so far to see that she can win it all, that he's never seen a candidate (paraphrasing) so clear-headed, cool and un-intimidated.

So far the media is hit and miss
Don Lemon from CNN had some ex CIA analysts on and one of them pulled out the "lots of experts" are seeing some nefarious.....about Tulsi so yeah she could be getting some help from Russians who would like to see her win. It's so obvious that people are just making crap up, but sadly many people believe them. I like to post that this country's IQ levels went down after Her lost. That so many people bought into this new McCarthyism is just mind boggling.
Jake Tapper is a ClintonCorp operative
