Susan Sarandon really stepped in it now

Susan Sarandon made the unforgivable mistake of pointing out an undeniable fact.

Speaking at the Cedar County for Bernie Ice Cream Social, Sarandon indirectly called out Warren's past as a registered Republican.

"He is not someone who used to be a Republican," Sarandon said of Sanders. "He is not someone who used to take money — or still takes money — from Wall Street. He is the real deal.”

Obviously only someone that hates America would say something like that, and all of the Democratic Party establishment has come down on her like a ton of bricks.

"Sarandon doesn't hold a candle to 'former Republican' Elizabeth Warren on advancing Democratic causes," fired back Brandon Friedman.

"Like congratulations, you've been a Democrat longer," he added. "You also took a blowtorch to your Democratic membership card in 2016 and caused genuine harm. So please spare us the lectures."

However, there are still some America-hating leftists that have come to Sarandon's defense.

the most unsurprising news

At a fundraiser in the Hamptons this weekend, Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) told wealthy donors she has “not been comfortable” with the Medicare-for-All proposal pushed by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), one of her leading rivals in the primary.

"I think almost every member of the United States Senate who's running for president and many others, have signed on to a variety of plans in the Senate. And I have done the same," Harris said, according to remarks provided by her campaign. "[A]ll of them are good ideas, which is why I support them. And I support Medicare for All. But as you may have noticed, over the course of the many months, I've not been comfortable with Bernie's plan, the Medicare for all plan."

Who could have seen that one coming? /s

Bernie responds

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., took a swipe Monday at 2020 rival Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., going after his fellow senator for criticizing his "Medicare-for-all" plan while courting wealthy donors...
“I don't go to the Hamptons to raise money from billionaires,” Sanders tweeted. “If I ever visited there, I would tell them the same thing I have said for the last 30 years: We must pass a 'Medicare-for-all' system to guarantee affordable health care for all, not just for those who can afford it.”

@gjohnsit

She has decided to skip the climate change town hall on CNN because she has a previous commitment with a billionaire fundraiser in LA that night. Fresh off the one in the Hamptons that looks like she is pulling a Hillary and foregoing the little people, that she will skip out on a debate on the most pressing topic in a lot of people's mind is just rubbing it their faces. I wonder if there will be a white noise machine so the press can't hear what she talks about like Hillary used? After all most of her campaign staff are the ones that worked on Hill's campaign.

"We need a leader who prioritizes the future of humanity over rubbing elbows with millionaires and billionaires."

In the space of 24 hours, Sen. Kamala Harris, a California Democrat running for the party's 2020 presidential nomination, made clear that when forced to choose between the interests of the donor class or progressives, she'd choose the former.

On Sunday night, as Bloomberg reported, Harris attended a big money fundraiser in the Hamptons, telling the superrich attendees "I believe in capitalism" and that she wasn't "comfortable" with a comprehensive Medicare for All plan.

I think Sarandon could have said that Bernie has been the consistent progressive/liberal rather than saying Bernie's never been a Republican. Then you rattle off things he's supported for decades.

Bernie's not spoiling for a fight with Warren and I suspect vice-versa. OTH, Harris is a novelty. I'm fine with her in the senate, especially when grilling judicial nominees, but she's a Obamaclinton wannabe. DNC types keep wanting to repeat mistakes of the past by electing someone who is a weathervane ideologue.

While Harris was enjoying her mimosas with her bundling donors in the Hamptons and on Martha's Vineyard, Bernie's campaign was sending pizzas to KY coal miners who got stiffed on their pay and blocking a coal shipment in return for their wages. Of course, the company, Blackjewels declared bankruptcy and closed the plant without notice.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), a 2020 White House hopeful, sent 18 pizzas to Kentucky coal miners protesting unpaid wages, one for every day the miners have demonstrated, according to a local radio station.

Vice noted that miners whose paychecks bounced when Blackjewel filed for bankruptcy have blockaded a train carrying more than $1 million in the company’s coal since late July. Dozens of people have joined the standoff, which initially comprised five men, the news outlet added.

Blackjewel reportedly owes an estimated $4.5 million in back pay, and miners said the demonstration is intended to make sure the money from the sale of the coal is paid to them before their former employer’s creditors.

President Trump froze the coal shipment on Aug. 5 under an Obama-era measure his administration previously tried to rescind, according to Vice.

State and national politicians on both sides of the aisle have expressed support for the miners, including Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin (R) and Amy McGrath, one of several Bluegrass State Democrats challenging Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.)

Chris Lewis, one of the miners, said several pizza orders had been called in from out of state, telling NPR “we’ve been supported well.”

'When people know and when they hear the senator's policies, when they see his track record, when they know how authentic he is and how he has been fighting for these issues for so long, he is the only one who has that reputation.

'He is not someone who used to be a Republican. He is not someone who used to take money - or still takes money - from Wall Street. He is the real deal.'

Are you suggesting that she shouldn't have took the veiled potshot at WARren? I actually don't have that strong of an opinion on the matter. Could you flesh out your point a bit more? Thanks.

It's not like WARren didn't diss Bernie to his back in his presence at Trump's State of the Union Address when she stood up and applauded Trump's shot at Bernie when he stated that "America will never be a socialist country," playing the Neoliberalcons like Heifetz played the violin.

Maybe what's good for the gander is good for the goose? Or is it a one way street for practitioners of Identity Politics?

@Wally "He is not someone who used to be a Democrat". Which, considering the corporatists who dominate the Democratic Party, is a positive statement.

Since the start of Biden's campaign, his people have been pushing the line that he's the only one who can beat Trump, even though some polls have shown most of the frontrunners would take the President in a head-to-head. That line allows Biden to lean on a milquetoast platform that offers little-to-no progress, beyond getting a bonafide enemy out of the White House, even though much of Biden’s poll dominance reflects more on his name recognition than it does on his real-life performance. If you like him, I won't stop you from voting for him, but if you'd prefer a candidate who "might be better on healthcare than Joe is,"—and there are several of those to choose from, in varying degrees—now is absolutely not the time to swallow that at all.

Jill should look at the polls and see that in most of the recent ones it's Bernie who is more electable than old ByeDone who if elected will bring none of the changes Hillary would have. And I am still seeing people saying that Bernie is weak on the African American vote even though that isn't true.

@snoopydawg in any debate, it does NOT matter whether Trump gets up there and bald face lies or not, as we surely can all see by now. It would almost be hilarious to watch those two idiots get up and "debate" if it weren't so GD scary that either of them are taken seriously at all. Comedy Gold I suppose, for those who could possibly stomach it, which I already know I would not be able to do no matter how darkly and horribly hilarious it might be. No better illustration of Idiot America exists IMHO.

So after three years of Russia, Russia, it was Susan Sarandon that gave us Trump? Wow, she really rocks! She didn't even spend the 100k the Russians did, right? So a billion dollars in the hands of all the best Dem 'brains' (term used loosely), was no match for Susan Sarandon? Why aren't they hiring her now then?

Funny how all the people rushing to shovel shat at Susan S. never once have mentioned the Pied Piper plan and the media collusion, the rigged primaries, etc. ad.infinitum.

Who gave us Trump? Directly, not broadscale? No single person is more responsible than Hillary Clinton. Followed by her enablers: Obama, James Comey, L. Lynch, Podesta/Mook, David Brock and Neeragoodidea Tandren, just to name a few.

You go Susan, you rock!

Unfortunately that only works for the right side of politics.

On the left side of politics, super-powered lefties can only destroy. They can't create/build. That's why people on the left that are influential must be constantly beaten down and made to grovel by the Democratic establishment.

At least that appears to be the only logical conclusion.
Anything else would mean the establishment Dems are total hypocrites, and that can't be true.
