Tulsi Continues, Slow and Steady

Donor Count

Now at 102,957 unique donors, the campaign's goal is 105,000 by this Sunday. That will leave them a week-and-a-half to get to around 110,000 unique donors by the time of the next debate. Reaching that level will give them a reasonable chance of reaching the 130,000 unique donor level required for the September and October debates.

Latest Count

No Gravelanche

Speaking of debates, it looks like Gravel did not get in. The list of 20 candidates does not include him.

List of 2nd Debate Candidates

Tulsi is in, of course, but Gravel's absence negates the potential for him to endorse Tulsi live on stage. Let's hope he still endorses her in some loud manner.

Polls

On the polling front, as I stated in my last report, Tulsi ran into two mainstream polls where she was at 0%. More recent polling is back into the 1% area.

National polls at The Economist/YouGov, Politico/Morning Consult, and The Hill/Harris X have Tulsi at 1%.

New Hampshire polls from CNN/University of New Hampshire and a seperate one at St. Anselm have Tulsi polling at 1% in the state. This is actually better than she had been polling previously. In the St. Anselm poll she rose from 0.6% in April to 1.0% in July. In the CNN poll, Tulsi almost (but not quite) made the 2% bracket.

Interestingly, also in the CNN poll, Tulsi wast the 6th most popular candidate for second choice, polling at 4% (if your first candidate dropped out, who would be your second choice). The first debate changed the minds of 15% of the New Hampshire people who watched as to their first choice. 2% of those polled considered Tulsi the most likeable candidate. Perhaps most shocking, although Biden won the CNN poll with 24%, Warren just barely edged out Sanders for second place with both at 19%.

Forward . . .

Go Tulsi!

That's my statement of bias. No secret here on c99. If I were to vote for a Democrat, the ONLY one would be Tulsi. If Bernie were not once again screwed over AND picked Tulsi as VP, I would vote for them both. I've fallen in love agin! Fickle me...it is no longer Bernie, it is Tulsi. Many here still remain Bernicrats and I don't fault them--I just can not join them, reasons not to be repeated here.

I bet Tulsi was a Rock and Roller

The rules for qualifying are just dumb. De Blasio and a few others have no way of winning and they are just in to give the DNC cover for rigging it again.

Which AIPAC/MIC/pharma/bank bought politician are you going to vote for? Don’t be surprised when nothing changes.

@snoopydawg Or for that matter, how did a new arrival, the governor of Montana suddenly was able to meet both the donor and polling requirement? Methinks I smell a rat.

Two people jumped in at the last minute after Sewell dropped out and they make the debates, but not Gravel? Yeah something fishy there.

I only know that he is suing because I saw a tweet about it, but not much more info.

@snoopydawg because he is the one candidate who will say what he really thinks and he will call out all the corporatists just like he did in 2008. Gravel is a little slower now, but he is no fool.

@gulfgal98

Like I posted before, polling is arbitrary, but unique donors are not.

that helped me rule out voting for De Blasio is his opposition to BDS.

to Tulsi's youtube channel. (It's free to sign up.) They come out with a new video pretty much every day.

faithful as you are in supporting a candidate because of principle and not because the candidate is an anointee or one of the anointees. Because of you, I did donate to Tulsi to help her get onto the debate stage and I emailed everyone I know with her donation link, asking them to send at least a dollar.

I know that was only because of you because I had sworn never to donate a dime to another Democrat, come hell or high charisma. And, unlike my past donations to politicians who are not Green, I don't regret it. (Then again, I donated only the price of a single moderate meal, a lot less than I donated to other Democrats.)

Anyway, good on you.

@HenryAWallace

She seems to me to really be speaking from the heart, and I for one believe her. I agree with almost all of her policies.

Even if her chances are low, the more she speaks and gets the word out on what this country should be doing, the better.

The Democrat's third debate looks as though it will be cherry picked by limiting the polling to a few hand picked polling companies. Tulsi appears set for 130K donors by the end of August, but now that the Democrats have added the 2% polling requirement - it might be a close race to get there. But realistically looking at the DNC - do you think that they actually nominate Tulsi Gabbard? I kinda' doubt that the Clinton / Wasserman Schultz effect is going to allow it. And don't forget that the super delegates get to vote on the "second" round of voting - this is where the establishment desires kick in. Good Luck Tulsi!!!
