Tulsi Storms the South, Focuses on Debates and September
Tulsi Polls 3% in Texas
The most recent statewide poll in Texas, from University of Texas/Texas Tribune, shows Tulsi polling at 3%. This was a poll of 1,200 people, which indicates that about 36 of those people polled for her. Not too shabby! She was well ahead of Booker, Gillibrand, Klobuchar, and Inslee who polled at 1%, and Yang and Williamson were at 0% in the poll--and she was only a bit behind Harris, who polled at 5%.
This poll is not a mainstream media poll, and does not count towards debate requirements. But, it does show that Tulsi has potentially made some inroads behind the scenes.
Tulsi Gets Very Good Reception at South Carolina Democratic Convention
Campaigning in South Carolina--one of the first 4 primary/caucus states--Tulsi spoke for about 7 minutes at the Democratic convention in that state. No messing with the sound system like in California. She was cheered at the beginning, and received a standing ovation at the end.
Tulsi at SC Democratic Convention
It is interesting to note in that speech that she seems to be honing things a bit. She now seems to be focusing on domestic issues first, and then later ties in how regime-change wars are keeping us from those. I think it flows a bit better and perhaps connects with people better.
When Tulsi first announced her candidacy, the first poll in SC showed her at 2%, and then she dropped from there as other candidates announced (Bernie, Biden, etc.). I'm curious to know whether she will start rising again after this tour of the state and if the recent polling in Texas is indicative of the South as a whole.
Tulsi Needs More Unique Donors
Just announced that Tulsi currently has 80,444 unique donors, and needs 49,556 more before September. The first two debates have potential to help here, but that's a very long way to go. If you support her, try to get folks you know to donate a dollar or more at Tulsi2020.com.
Of course, she also needs to poll at 2% in 3 separate polls off the DNC's list. Let's see what she can do.
Tulsi Debates Wednesday, June 26
The first debate is coming up, where Tusli and Warren will face off with Booker, O'Rourke, and Klobuchar and a few other no-namers. Watch NBC, MSNBC, or CNN. Rachael Madcow will be one of about five debate moderators
The second set of debates, which Tulsi will also be in, is scheduled for July 30 and 31.
According to her campaign staff, Tulsi has been practicing and preparing for the debates daily behind the scenes for the past couple of weeks.
And, that is the update . . .

Edit to Add: Billboards in South Carolina
Oh, and forgot to mention that Tulsi now has at least 6 billboards up in SC as of a week ago. Interesting strategy, and one that might work well to keep her in people's minds! Take a look:

EDIT to add this quote from a Tulsi email...
“Until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.”
I’d hate to tow the D party line too
It’s heavy and full of crap.
Of course I wouldn’t want to toe it either

Thanks for the update, apenultimate! Looking
forward to the debates. Gabbard's clearly well-spoken, so, she'll probably do very, very well.
(If they give her a chance to speak.)
Mollie
Everyone thinks they have the best dog, and none of them are wrong.
And there's the rub
She will probably shadow-banned to almost non-existence. She'll get the 2016 Bernie treatment--except worse. As her message resonates with the people, she will be more and more shunned by the MSM, getting no appearances--except on Fox. She has the integrity to tell her anti-war vision in the same way wherever she speaks: town halls, MSDNC, Faux Spews, campaign appearances--and in Congress!
