I DEMAND an Explanation from Medium.Com Regarding Their Censorship of My Work

In late April of this year, Medium.com suspended the entire body of work – 234 essays and comments – that I had posted there over the last two years. Despite repeated emails to them, I have received no response from them, before or since.

I suppose that Medium has reserved a legal right to suspend essays posted on their site, with or without cause. However, as a matter of common human decency, I demand an explanation from them regarding this atrocious act of censorship.

I have managed to reconstruct over 50 of my most significant Medium essays at caucus99percent.com, which welcomes them. Here is an essay I posted there explaining my situation with Medium:

https://caucus99percent.com/content/my-e-mail-medium-after-having-my-ent...

Here are links to my censored writings on Russiagate:

https://caucus99percent.com/content/archive-my-writings-russiagate-censo...

And on Syria:

https://caucus99percent.com/content/archive-my-writings-syria-censored-m...

And here are links to a few essays on the MH17 shootdown, the Skripal affair, gun ownership – and in praise of Bernie Sanders:

https://caucus99percent.com/content/ukraine-organized-kangaroo-court-jit...

https://caucus99percent.com/content/kolomoisky%E2%80%99s-private-militia...

https://caucus99percent.com/content/re-skripal-case%E2%80%8A%E2%80%94%E2...

https://caucus99percent.com/content/we-must-destroy-myth-home-gun-owners...

https://caucus99percent.com/content/response-roy-delfinos-ten-reasons-wh...

Now that these have been censored, I trust that they are 3 times as interesting as they were previously!

Some of my key conclusions:

“Russia interfered in our election” is an outright hoax, just like Trump collusion was.

Assad DID NOT “gas his own people”.

MH17 was likely shot down by a Ukrainian militia.

The Skripal poisoning was most likely a false flag intended to incriminate Russia.

Iran has NEVER HAD a formal nuclear weapons program.

The flood of false accusations against Russia and its allies, formulated by our Deep State, and abetted by a compliant MSM that refuses to report FACTS that contravene these narratives, is intended to insure that the US and NATO have the “enemy” needed to justify the expenditure of trillions of our tax dollars on armaments, our global military empire, and on wars – which are highly profitable to the corporations which own our media and our politicians. These malicious lies also serve to further the geopolitical agendas of traitorous neocons acting in the presumed interests of Israel.

PLEASE HELP ME GET THE WORD OUT ABOUT THE COWARDLY CENSORSHIP PERPETRATED BY MEDIUM! You can link to this essay on social media both to inform people of my situation, and to give them ready access to my censored writings.

I understand your frustration, however, we’re kind of mild mannered around here and your all cap title feels like you are screaming at me. Would you mind changing it appropriately?

Have you tried sending them a letter/email/tweet/correspondence in all caps so that they can respond to your raised voice? It would be my suggestion since, it appears, they have riled you and it might elicit a response.

I hope you can work it out with them and come to a conclusion that suits one and all.

@Raggedy Ann it's not about Mark. It's about voices being silenced when they threaten the status quo, the powers that be, or whatever you want to call it. It's about the consequences that has for all of us: the US, the human race, and the planet.

I generally don't like ALL CAPS, either. But this is not a time in human evolution when we need to be quiet. We need to be raising our voices, not be passive and "polite".

Rule No. 1 when dealing with dysfunctional abusers: you don't try to "work things out" with them. You will always lose if you approach the situation with that mindset.

Raggedy Ann, this kind of censorship doesn't deserve mild mannerism. Any conditions and any person has its limits, when mild manners don't do anything and ALL CAPS shouting probably will also not do anything. That is the problem. Despair leads to a lot of reactions and I would tolerate most of them excluding of murder and bombing civilians.

I appreciate to have the chance to read all of veganmarks essays, appreciate that he sorted them by date and subject and appreciate JtCs decision to allow us all to read and make up our minds about veganmarks written words. He even was not hiding his identity. So, respect.

I still think the all caps is over the top. We are on his side, therefore, all caps should not be necessary. Use them when you want to make your mark - like with the people you're actually angry with. MHO.

@Raggedy Ann
someone uses them and thinks it means something, which is doesn't.

And you think I have empathy, but why do you think that? I didn't say so. I said, it is no big deal to shout. I have said nothing about what I think about the content of meganmarks essay.

In a whispering voice I suggest now we leave that subject behind. Let's have some peace. Please. Wink

@Raggedy Ann I get your point. I have kept the caps on DEMAND, but otherwise capitalized normally for a title. This might be an more effective way to get my point across.

Naturally I was screaming at the jackasses at Medium, not the good folk here at caucus99percent!

Look at how many people cheered when Alex Jones got banned from first Facebook and then Twitter and then kept doing unintentional bannings of other people and websites. Next we got Hamilton 68 that tracked Russian bots on Twitter, the Integrity Initiative. NewsGuard which Microsoft is putting on its browsers. And now Twitter has bought this company.

Twitter buys tech start-up that claims to quickly spot fake news

Twitter has acquired a start-up that claims to identify “fake news” quickly.

The company announced on Monday that it was acquiring Fabula AI, a London-based company that uses algorithms and machine learning to identify so-called fake news, the popular term for information that isn’t real or verified. The term typically envelops misleading or complete made-up news that is both deliberately and accidentally circulated.

Fabula AI appears to base its product off studies that show that fake news spreads faster than real news online. According to VentureBeat, they use this pattern to their advantage, tracking how content spreads online. From there, they allocate an authenticity score.

“As this technology detects the spread pattern, it is language and locale independent; in fact, it can be used even when the content is encrypted,” the company says on its homepage. “We also believe that such an approach, given it is based on the propagation pattern through huge social networks, is far more resilient to adversarial attacks.”

Which AIPAC/MIC/pharma/bank bought politician are you going to vote for? Don’t be surprised when nothing changes.

Censorship is done by governments. Censorship is a government denying your right to say or print something. Medium.com is a corporation. Their only legal duty is to obey laws and act for the maximization of the owner's profits.

You don't have the right to say or print anything there unless you have a contract saying you do. If so, see a lawyer.

Facebook is not a government either. Neither is a public forum. They imply that they are, but read the fine print of their user agreement.
This is the fallacy of "Social Media". They are not town halls.

and they are pushing FB and other mediums to kick websites and people off so yeah it is censorship. See my comment above. The new sites that have kicked up to help people understand what is fake news or not have their hands tied to the AC and are getting funding from the government.
I did a few essays on FB and the Atlantic council right after Alex Jones was kicked off FB and other sites.

Who checks the fact-checkers? Facebook leaves verification to groups funded by Soros, US Congress

In its crusade against 'fake news', Facebook has vowed to fight for impartiality. However, when it comes to fact-checking, it seems to rely on sources, which have links to the US government, and renowned political meddlers.

Facebook proudly boasted that all the "partners" it cooperates with were "certified" through what it calls "the non-partisan International Fact-Checking Network" or IFCN.

However, the social network's choice of people to trust with the power to decide what is true or false does raise questions. This seemingly impressive "international network" Facebook mentions is a project run by Florida-based private school of journalism – the Poynter Institute for Media Studies.

The project, which Facebook apparently uses as a sole instrument to find trustworthy "partners," seems to be way more than just a selfless initiative aimed at helping people navigate through questionable information.

The IFCN was launched in 2015 following a generous donation totaling $300,000, which the Poynter Institute received from two sources. One of them is the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) – a "soft-power" organization, which is funded primarily through annual allocations from the US Congress. Another one is the Omidyar Network – a foundation run by the eBay founder and self-described "progressive" billionaire Pierre Omidyar.

@The Voice In the Wilderness I think you may be confusing censorship with the First Amendment.

The First Amendment provides that the government may not enact laws that "abridge freedom of speech".

Therefore, violations of the First Amendment are a type of censorship. But censorship is not limited to violations of the First Amendment.

Censorship may be done by anyone. Any authority figure, anyone in control of a particular organization, group, or venue. And individuals self-censor all the time, for various reasons.

Here's what the ACLU says about censorship:

Censorship, the suppression of words, images, or ideas that are "offensive," happens whenever some people succeed in imposing their personal political or moral values on others. Censorship can be carried out by the government as well as private pressure groups. Censorship by the government is unconstitutional.

@The Voice In the Wilderness
Nothing in the history of the word "censorship" supports your assertion, and every dictionary worth its salt extends the definition of "censorship" to include all attempts to suppress communication of information -- thus, for example, the TV networks have "censors" who set standards and vet content before it is broadcast. Yes, lots of people mistakenly believe that the First Amendment applies to any and all forms of censorship, when it of course only applies to government censorship, but that's a different matter. Denying that Youtube and Facebook are censoring content is not only splitting a semantic hair, but it's doing so incorrectly.

The earth is a multibillion-year-old sphere.
The Nazis killed millions of Jews.
On 9/11/01 a Boeing 757 (AA77) flew into the Pentagon.
AGCC is happening.
If you cannot accept these facts, I cannot fake an interest in any of your opinions.

especially given the amount of time and energy you obviously had invested there.

And yes, while they may be able to do whatever they like, just like the DNC,
they at least owe you an explanation.

Not to sound like Bill Clinton, but for any of us that have previously had a lot of time invested in a site, that turned out not to be what we thought it was, I do feel your pain.

So glad you landed here.
You are a great investigative writer and such a pleasure to read.
