How Tulsi should respond to Meghan McCain

First of all, Meghan McCain is dumb as a rock.

Selection_002_4.png

Tulsi has gone through the trouble of explaining herself and what is wrong with regime change policy, and that's OK.

Personally I would answer Meghan's demand for overthrow Assad with just one picture.

The news media has taken part in a campaign to "delegitimize" 2020 Democratic hopeful Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii), left-leaning journalist Michael Tracey said in an interview that aired Friday on Hill.TV's “Rising.”

"The campaign to otherize and delegitimize Tulsi Gabbard is itself really disturbing," Tracey said to Buck Sexton and Krystal Ball on Wednesday.

"She's portrayed as a total crank, a weirdo, somebody who's been coddling dictators. She's been accused of being a member of a cult," he continued.

He compared the move to ones he says the media has made in the past to delegitimize other candidates.

"It really harkens back to how the media tried to otherize [former Republican presidential candidate] Ron Paul, [former Democratic candidate] Dennis Kucinich, other candidates in previous electoral cycles who were seen to be inconvenient or be too challenging of foreign policy consensus in particular," he said.

Gabbard has faced blowback for a 2017 secret visit with Syrian President Bashar Assad, who has been accused of human rights abuses against his own people in that country's ongoing civil war.

"This is what always happens when candidates forthrightly challenge foreign policy consensus. They are deemed to be out of their minds, and that's a really destructive and insidious dynamic," Tracey added.

@gjohnsit Give the Godsdamned Neocon Foreign Policy Establishment Death-Cult the ultimate runaround: "Otherize" THEM to the whole world, just like with what Occupy Wall Street did with "the 1%".

The comparison of Gabbard with Kucinich is interesting, especially since Kucinich accompanied Gabbard on that 2017 visit to Syria.

Though he's no longer in Congress, former Cleveland Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich still views himself as an emissary for peace.

That's why the longtime sponsor of legislation to create a cabinet-level Department of Peace visited Lebanon and Syria last week on a fact-finding tour that included meetings with Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri and its president, Michel Aoun, and Iraq's foreign minister.

"We were there to gather facts on where things stand now and how they see their situation," said Kucinich. "The one thing we weren't there to do was make policy."

Kucinich made the trip with current U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, a Hawaii Democrat, their spouses, and representatives of Cleveland's Arab American Community Center for Economic and Social Services, which paid for the visit.

Qatar's pipeline. Pursuing a pipeline deal with Iran sealed his fate, in my opinion. Anyone can be killing their own populace, stealing elections, it doesn't matter what, as long as it doesn't interfere with American interests. The moment it does, the DICTATOR MURDERER AAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!! regime change button is mashed.

Kucinich would be nice to have on the radar as well.

This might be a little off-topic, but I think given how heavily propagandized our elections are, it's relevant. Short answer: Yes. We are worse than North Korea.

Modern education is little more than toeing the line for the capitalist pigs.

Guerrilla Liberalism won't liberate the US or the world from the iron fist of capital.

or any of us that advocate for peace, supporting any candidate:
"Meghan, you surely know the cliche 'good cop/bad cop'? The cliche 'use both the carrot and stick'? Well, America has played the role of bad cop enough, and done plenty of work with the stick. But there has to be a time for someone to offer a carrot. A time for someone to be the 'good cop'. As a veteran I have learned that after us troops do what we can with bombs and tanks then we need support from Washington in the form of good cop and in the form of carrot. And I am someone who is willing to play that role."

mic drop.
I really think this would resonate in a bi partisan way with voters who have given their lives to military service.

My spouse and I once watched John McCain badger a witness during some hearing on the environment/national parks, and he was incredibly rude, belligerent and snide. Took our breath away. There is something deeply wrong with that family.

For some reason John really did not want to look in to the missing troops in Vietnam and he was extremely nasty to families that were pushing him to do so since he was in charge of the MIA committee. Pretty sure he told one lady to f'ck off in not so many words.

folks feel for the suffering of people in other countries, and that it is appropriate to help them. But overthrowing their governments always leads to more hardship and suffering--and we need to stop doing that.
Attacking McCain is counter-productive. Those of us who know what a twisted soul he was don't need to be told again, and those who have been propagandized as to his sainthood won't hear it.
There are many on the right who believed Trump's anti-regime change war BS, and they are now realizing they were conned. We don't want to alienate them by attacking their heroes. Just let them hear what Tulsi has to say, and let them react to these stupid chicken-hawks trying to smear a veteran. Judging from the YouTube responses, it is working.
I'm really impressed with Tulsi's calm demeanor as she confronts these MSM jerks.
