Markos on Press the Meat
But first there's this..
WATCH: 2020 Democratic primary could make Medicare for all the “price of admission” #MTP @markos joins @albamonica at the Post Game bar to discuss how the 2020 Democratic field is shaping up. pic.twitter.com/RIvlBJheCv

Todd starts the conversation off with saying that the Green New Deal is socialism and is the country ready for this? Let's kill the deal before it gets started by calling it socialism
One woman on the panel explained how bad climate change is going to be with the loss of millions of lives and billions in crop damage and the loss of ocean front homes... then a dude cuts her off and said that the GND is a major pothole for democrats and then said something about going back to identity politics.
The green news deal is a major pothole for democrats. The woman explained how bad climate change is going affect the world with millions dying and billions in ocean front homes being destroyed and the dude says abortion and
Markos on messaging. "Yes We can is a positive message...we have to realize that the polical process is slow, it's designed that way" ... and that's as far as I got because the other dude keeps cutting people off with.. "Yes we can become a socialist country?"
Ah yes. Markos wants to remind people that people need to be patient with single payer and working on climate change because incrementalism is the best way to go about making changes.
Here's the headline.
Full Panel: Is the Green New Deal a pragmatic plan or rising socialism?
Sure Todd. Make people believe it's not a life or death situation. Make them afraid of us becoming socialists. I watched this so that you don't have to.
Comments
I've noticed these people tend to be superficial
They can't even do basic research into what markos is.
Well, it's like his polls...
the Corporate Media conveniently suppess that fact that any "Liberal" was run off the site in 2016.
Despite that, Bernie is running in second place.
Wonder why they let the not a Democrat in the poll.

The term sure keeps getting thrown around
by a lot of neoliberals claiming to be progressive. Another label co-opted.
I had a hard time even watching the short clip of Markos. He turns my stomach.

I'm sure "progressive" will be the buzzword for 2020.

Amazingly enough there will be plenty of people to defend and equivocate the merits of this "committee"

Yes her supporters will try to defend her doing that
Just one more person who people will have to contort their minds to defend their actions.

To elicit those tingling down the leg kind of feelings, eh? I remember only too well how enamored I was of Barack, and how fiercely I would defend his shiny greatness to critics who had the temerity to ask fact based questions.

Exactly
And such a "Brave" stance for the thrillingly marvelous AOC to take. Ha! What focused grouped bullshit.
Critiques aside, at least Gabbard has the fucking guts to actually weigh in on the Venezuela issue.

It seems more people are thinking that. One step forward, two steps back.. I wonder what she thought of military aggression before she got elected?

There is a lot good discussion material there and you have a way of succinctly breaking things down in a very cohesive way.

I agree with him.
Good question. At what point? Seriously. And yet, I'm STILL having debates with people about how effective these "progressive" political stars can be in a system that is controlled by the global robber barons running our government.
Another cogent point he makes is this one:
Exactly. It's a mighty lucrative club to be in, isn't it? And I'll be damned if I help another Barack Obama as they pray on the altar of greed and self interest at MY EXPENSE.

Right, but a litle reality check
I own a 1 br condo in Daly City, CA. And so my "net worth" is over $800,000. I also sold a taxi medallion before the industry went the way of the dodo (the guy who bought it from me went bankrupt, I got $200,000) I'm "almost as rich as the average congressman" but through nothing of my own skill and hard work - just dumb luck. An average net worth of over $1 mil sounds impressive, but it's the really rich that are killing us, not Joe Average The Paper Rich.
On to Biden since 1973
You have a problem
with a representative gathering information while developing a position before announcing it to the world? Personally, I wish it would catch on.
Having to form a committee on whether a coup is bad
should send out all kinds of warning signs. Imo of course. Bolton is saying that he wants to overthrow Maduro so that he can have access to the oil. You need a committee to decide whether that is good or bad? Damn right I have a problem with that.

If the Marvelous AOC
Wants to capture the grassroots of the left, and in particular energize the youth, rhetoric that addresses the climate crisis has to be included. And I'm pretty sure the advisors of the Marvelous AOC didn't even need a focus group to come up with that conclusion.

I'm wondering why the hell congress had to hold a hearing on Whittaker when he's on his way out of office? What did that accomplish? Barr is going to be the AG because democrats don't see any problem with appointing someone who pardoned people from the Iran Conta affair. I thought that they were worrying about Trump pardoning everyone? Saturday Night Live makes a hell of a lot more sense than congress does.

Those democratic activists gave Nancy $80K worth of roses
And delivered by Markos. I think Nancy was a little embarressed. Couldn't they have just given the money directly to her in unmarked bills?
Not sure why Markos is pushing Warren. Wall Street hates her. Maybe just a foil for Kamala.
He's pinned this tweet
so that everyone will see it if they look at his page.
I thought Nancy was a bit embarrassed too when she first saw all the roses. Doubt he would have noticed it if she was. 7,000 were in her office so that left another 14,000 to be delivered. Good grief.

It's getting more and more obvious, by the day. Marky Markos...
...is either going for an on-air gig; or, he's going to run for office; or, first the on-air gig, then a campaign for office. I've been saying this about him for many, many years. And now we're seeing it beginning to play out. Another note: I'd put some money on the fact that Kos is getting some coaching re: his on-air personae. And, so it goes...another horror show in the making...this time around on a bigger stage.

You’re probably right, including this … “And, so it goes...another horror show in the making...this time around on a bigger stage.”
I’ll have to trust you about his tv personae because I don’t think I could bear to listen. Even his written comments, when I had the guts to read, made me cringe.
if he gets some coaching - it's the wrong kind
Jeez, big smile, white teeth, dark suit, charming rose flowers bribing old ladies slimey, grey haired talking head? Haven't I seen those somewhere already?
Do you remember someone called 'Jerome a Paris' in the early years of dailykos? I wonder what has become out of him. I think he was a banker and a frenchman - uh, oh, scary. I watched Jerome and Markos have a conversation from far without understanding what they talked about. Facial expressions by Markos indicated, he was a little intimidated by Jerome's dispassionateness/sedateness/sang-froid-selfcomposure. (I never know which translation for the German word I have in mind would fit best).
Ok, I can't even laugh anymore about 'Saturday Night Life', too far away from the US to still get a kick out of it.
It is a circus. Can Markos change my socialism-fairness-equalitarian yearning heart? Or even break it? Hmm, I think he needs to send some different flowers, roses have thorns, I like the 'Forget-me-not' little ones. Because I don't want to forget ... and they are cute flowers, so there, I said it.
Sigh. I'll take another nap. You just hit me over the head.
