You think I would find a full video of just the SOTU speech

but I am searching now for 30 frigging minutes and all I get is bunches of smiling representatives eager to get into the camera's angle to have their faces shown off. The theater of the SOTU speech is getting on my nerves. Who cares who is escorting whom?

Anyone has a video of just the speech and nothing else, but in full and uncut and nothing else after or before the speech?

Sigh, the House full of smiling faces wasting time. If they all just would be dead serious, would say nothing and start their work. Masters of smiley faces.

TC 30:38 the happy Drumpelstiltzchen finally starts to say something. ok, we are all united now, I got that.

What is the meaning of so many women in the audience all wearing white clothes?

Ok, we are at D-Day now. Ok, I guess I go back to sleep. I get sick.

Now he is on the moon. On American rockets he will take the ride this year again. Bon Voyage.

ok, let me know if the SOTU speech has made any impact on your understanding of what Uncle Sam is up to other than to tell you that his lies are the best and greatest.

Sorry for this. I pity any journalist who has to listen to this and report about it.

I didn't view any of the SOTU spectacle, but from what I've heard about it, I believe your 6 comments pretty much sum it up.

I applaud your excellent performance art. Good

while the Presidents words were pulling all the tricks, pushing all the buttons to conflict listeners' feeling and I think many are going to break over those emotional conflicts.
I do and can't forgive it.

I am no story teller and a hesitant story teller's listener.
As your mileage may vary, for the record for you, if you want to let yourself break down emotionally. (Start at TC 30:45 ends at 1:53:05)

@mimi I just read a written transcript of Stacey Abrams' response. Tomorrow (make that later today, after I get some sleep) I'll listen to Bernie's response.

I can't bring myself to watch or listen to the actual address by Trump. Not just because of him, but because of the whole thing, the congresscritters both Dem and Repub co-creating the spectacle, and treating the kabuki as if it were real.

@Centaurea
the video, because that's what a former archivist would have to do.
I rather listen to music ... and that's here on C99p a lot ... and I know your feelings, so ... we seem to be on the same wave length about it. Smile

@Alligator Ed Well, that's strike one. Trump hasn't said anything in 2 years that had any relationship to what he actually does. I heard it described as Trumps greatest hit medley. So, hats off to Mimi for actually watching, but I doubt he meant any of it, except for the wall.

@CB
the birth of the Weimar Constitution in Germany (on Feb.6th 1919). Our evening news here talked about it a bit. I didn't know that the Social Democratic Party in Germany had the same outfit for the German Suffragetten, all in white. Can't manage the upload of the photo of the National Assembly in Weimar from that time. But nice to know. There was a lot of "Freedom Talk" back then too. Sounded eerily familiar ... And look what they got a decade later ...

@CB
have so much to catch up on. And so much got lost in just surviving at some place I just happened to be without really be in control of it, when I got there.

So, I love it here, that's for JtC too. If he doesn't know anymore (see arendt's diary and JtC's comment in there) then at least he should know that he does it for people like me who have not the nerves to search for everything alone.

Can you let JtC know, that the one thing I wished would be possible for this site? One can't make a monthly donation without going through paypal. And I wonder why this has to be that way. Now, I could get over myself and nevertheless use it, despite me not wanting to support the paypal company....

Thanks again, great image. Smile
