Pelosi and Fun With Polls

Here's a good example of why you should read past the headlines.
Consider these two articles:

Poll: Democratic voters back Pelosi as speaker by wide margin

By a 2-to-1 margin, Democratic voters want Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to be House speaker in the new Congress, according to a new POLITICO/Morning Consult survey.
...A majority of Democratic and Democratic-leaning independent voters (53 percent) would like to see Pelosi be the next speaker, according to a Quinnipiac University poll, while only 27 percent don’t want to see that. A CBS News poll finds 49 percent of self-identified Democrats think Pelosi should be the next speaker, compared to 40 percent who want another Democrat.

Poll: Nearly half of Democrats don’t want Nancy Pelosi as House Speaker

Nearly half of Democrats don't want Nancy Pelosi to return to her role as Speaker of the House!

That’s according to a new CBS News poll of 1,100 adults, which found that 40% do not want Pelosi to be elected Speaker of the House when Democrats return to hold the majority in the House of Representatives in January.

That's quite a difference in spin for the exact same poll!
As for this newfound love for Pelosi with Dems, I find that to be as dubious as the polls showing enthusiasm for Biden.
It was only last week that polls showed Dem voters were tired of Pelosi.

Meanwhile, Trump says, "I've got your back, Nancy."

Two zombies that refuse to die. Now I'm hearing they plan on dragging out "the rich man's Corey Booker", better known as Deval Patrick. Also better known as a Barack wannabe. I am so tired of the tone deaf Dims. I'm still laughing at the time when the Dims had all three branches of government and still blamed the Republicans. I remember thinking that the Dims were the "good guys". Not until the 2016 election did the scab get pulled back from these creatures and we all realized who they really were...just more Republicans.

Alleged progressive Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said today that Nancy Pelosi has her support for Speaker of the House. Because Pelosi is a progressive and other candidates for the post are to the right of Pelosi.

"All the challenges to Leader Pelosi are coming from her right, in an apparent effort to make the party even more conservative and bent toward corporate interests," Ocasio-Cortez wrote on Twitter.

"Hard pass. So long as Leader Pelosi remains the most progressive candidate for Speaker, she can count on my support."

The more things change, the more they remain the same.

@gjohnsit @gjohnsit

Pelosi is the most progressive current candidate, so support her because she's the most progressive current candidate. Okay.....

Kinda like saying we had to run Hillary Clinton in 2016 because Hillary Clinton was running in 2016.

@edg
AOC probably made the decision to pick her battles. And when there is no alternative...

I can't condemn her for it (this is coming from someone who voted for Pelosi's Republican opponent).

Gëzuar!!
from a reasonably stable genius.

The vast majority have locked right into Citizens United and the super pacs and corporate money and they know they would have a much harder time getting elected if they couldn't access and use the propaganda echo chamber. And then there's the small, but hopefully growing group that takes little or no corporate money and relies mainly on online fundraising from regular people. They are only beholden to their constituents and their fellow citizens and that freedom pisses the other group off. I think the roots of these new politicians goes back to the Howard Dean campaign. Obama raised a whole bunch of money online during his first Presidential campaign and had no super pacs. That was before the Supreme Court passed Citizens United:

Obama didn't have to sell out so much to win his second election IMO. In the new post Citizens United US, the difference between the beholden politicians and those who are free is even more stark.
