April 5th is Presidential Primary day in Wisconsin.

It is also, however, election day for judicial offices across the state. Most significantly, Wisconsinites will be electing a State Supreme Court judge to a 10-year term.

The current occupant of the seat, and thus natural favorite for reelection, is Rebecca Bradley, an odious right-wing ideologue who went from Judicial Nobody to Rising Star in 3 short years, entirely via the patronage of Scott Walker. Bradley (no relation, it appears, to the equally odious Bradley Foundation -- though the BF CEO has spent money supporting her) was plucked from obscurity by Walker in late 2012 to fill an appointment to the Milwaukee County Circuit bench. The next year, she won re-election to that post; 2 years later, in May 2015, Walker elevated her to the Court of Appeals; and 6 months later, upon the untimely death of Justice Patrick Crooks (don't laugh), he "astonishingly" (okay, not really) appointed her to the State Supreme Court. Three years of experience, and she's on the Supreme Court.

Sadly, she's pretty clearly a horrible human being, with a philosophy that would excite any good Bircher. In particular, she's eagerly and forcefully opposed to women's reproductive rights.

Wisconsin citizens have only two hopes of avoiding having this troll rolling back our rights for the next decade:
A. Motivated Democrats and independent progressives turn out in droves on April 5th.
or
B. A yuge fraction of Trump supporters turns out to be libertarianish and well-enough informed to be nauseated either by Bradley's loathsome (and hypocritical, incidentally) moralizing, or by the cronyism manifested in Bradley's burst of career advancement. (Did I mention that she was a contributor to Walker's campaign before he ever appointed her to anything?)

B, of course, is a pure crapshoot -- who the hell knows what motivates those maniacs? Which leaves us with A. The problem is that HRC -- you know, the same HRC in whose behalf Planned Parenthood has been spending scarce political dollars -- has been doing everything possible since last summer to depress the Democratic turnout, by persuading everybody who doesn't love her that there's no point in their casting a ballot. So yes, as was more or less inevitable in the instant they discarded their ethics so as to curry the favor of clintonian influence, PP has shot themselves right in the fucking face -- and with themselves, a generation of Wisconsin women who will quite probably lose access to ordinary reproductive health care.

This is why PP should have stayed the fuck out of the primary, and this is why Moulitsas and his merry band of idiots should shut their goddamned fucking faces about HRC's inevitability: They are fucking up democracy, and stabbing Wisconsinites in the fucking hearts, the stupid fucking fuckers. FUUUUUUCK.
