Can you smell that smell?

Something stinks to high heaven in Washington DC. I mean it stinks even more than the usual compost heap called DC.

I opened up my Twitter account and to what do my shell shocked eyes, do I see?

So I went to the linked article which is posted at True Pundit and I was gobsmacked.

New video and intelligence from Crowdsource the Truth emerged Monday when editor Jason Goodman visited the law offices of Awan’s attorney. A law firm official acknowledged Awan was inside the office but would not allow him to speak on camera. According to several sources, Awan has been answering the phones at the law firm for untold weeks, possibly longer.

Whether paid or unpaid, it’s absolutely stunning in any legal realm.

I am absolutely amazed that this is not an ethical violation on the part of the attorney, but then this is Washington DC or the Swamp.

The Awans are being protected by a lot of very powerful people. It makes you wonder.

Imran Awan had the highest security clearance possible for an IT staffer. He was vouched for by not only DWS but other Democrats also vouched for him without his having to undergo a background check. I am starting to think Imran Awan might be a CIA asset.

Read the article. True Pundit is a conservative site, but I have found the information they publish to be reliable in the past.

I met a woman who answered phones for the small law firm that was representing her husband, who was in prison.

The Awans are scum bags, but I'm not sure this would be considered an ethics violation. Maybe an attorney will stop by and give their opinion.

@Deja @Deja standards to hire an accused to work. I have hired accused felons to paint my barns, mow the office lawn, repair the a/c, etc...to either help them pay off their attorney's fees, or to just earn money they lost while sitting in jail, awaiting bail.
That said, hiring a particularly notorious defendant would be awful for business.
Gowen must have a clientele of insiders or ignoramuses that just don't give a shit who is on the law office phones and computers.
The DC police pretty much destroying the evidence by breaking the chain of custody is the real story. Bet if you do a search, you would discover that turning over the key evidence of a crime to the wrong place and person has never happened in that constabulary.
That is what makes this case lend itself to conspiracy analysis.
My friends, that just does not happen in the real police/prosecutor/defense attorney world. Defense attorneys usually schedule a time to go to the evidence room to examine physical evidence and are accompanied by police and usually a prosecutor.
Computer forensics is even more monitored and restricted.

create a copy of a computer's harddrive and do analysis from the copy -- preserving the original harddrive as evidence.

So it really is a question of what was given to Gowen. I suppose if the data on the computer is evidence, then a defense attorney has a right to see it (true?). I'm not a lawyer so I'm guessing on that. But yeah, he should not have been given the original laptop.

Edit:
Given what I stated above, I'm not buying this claim from the True Pundit article. It does not sound like chain of custody was breached.

"A laptop belonging to Imran Awan was supposed to be turned over to the U.S. Attorney’s office in the case by Capitol Police. Instead, the police turned the laptop’s contents over to Gowen’s office, ultimately tainting the chain of custody and rendering any evidence as useless."

PS. I am not a Awan fanboy. My guess is that he is guilty as sin. But these conservo news rags (ex True Pundit ) like to throw crap against the wall to see what sticks.

Not sure about ethics I met a woman who answered phones for the small law firm that was representing her husband, who was in prison.

With a small criminal law firm, that woman just might be working off her hubby's legal bill. Or drawing a staffer's paycheck when hubby left her sans livelihood when he went to prison. Both of these are honest, ethical possibilities.

OTOH, with the Awans, I fear that unethical is the assumption to make in the absence of hard direct evidence.....

whether the lawyer, as stated in the OP, being '...Chris Gowen, a close former aide to Bill and Hillary Clinton ...', is being reimbursed (this perhaps buried within 'extra expenses' under unspecified 'legal fees') for hiring Imran Awan, and if the wages paid him for answering the office phone compare with what DWS was paying/planning on paying him after some of the facts started coming out - when he wasn't supposed to be able to access the violated Dem computers anymore and was supposed to be going back to Pakistan.

I seem to recall that and his family were earning much higher wages than was typical for the other IT personnel there, and - now that DWS apparently isn't paying/a conduit for money funneled to him - rather suspect that Awan isn't getting an average receptionist's wage for manning the legal office phones...

Report: Wasserman Schultz Intended To Pay Imran Awan Even While He Was A Fugitive
Staff Writer
By Staff Writer
Posted on July 30, 2017

Democrat Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz reportedly intended to pay beleaguered IT staffer Imran Awan even after he fled to Pakistan to escape the FBI’s tightening probe into his alleged fraud and mishandling of confidential information.

This latest allegation comes from The Daily Caller, which cites public statements and congressional pay records as evidence to support the claim that not only would Wasserman Schultz have continued to pay Awan if the FBI hadn’t arrested him last week; she also knew that Awan’s wife – who is also a suspect in all this – had also already fled the country.

Further, according to The Associated Press, Awan’s lawyer had actually informed the House of the man’s impending travel.

“In all, six months of actions reveal a decision to continue paying a man who seemingly could not have been providing services to her, and who a mountain of evidence suggests was a liability,” The Daily Caller reports.

“Records also raise questions about whether the Florida Democrat permitted Awan to continue to access computers after House-wide authorities banned him from the network Feb. 2,” the report continues.

This would mean he had access to all confidential emails sent and received by Wasserman Schultz.

“Not only did she keep him on staff after the ban, but she also did not have any other IT person to perform necessary work that presumably would have arisen during a months-long period, according to payroll records,” The Daily Caller. ...

Come to that, was DWS being reimbursed for paying Awan, since presumably the American public would not have been charged for his pay after his ban - and if so by whom? Might the answer potentially lead to more explanations than the mere fact of a name? (With the Clintons involved, though, quite likely laundered through one of their multiple other Foundations.)

Personally, I'm wondering if he's part of a vital informational link to the global web of The Psychopaths That Be, et al... the Clintons certainly ensured that such as State national defense info was globally accessible, hot off the plate, on Hillary's private server, before this.

That would include the afore-mentioned CIA, of course, but there was seemingly more than that involved in such as the ongoing Gladios terrorist network, wasn't there? All those oligarchs in multiple countries, often seemingly somehow assisted by (US-PTB-preferred) policy against the public interest in gaining incredible wealth and power to suppress the 'left' and drain the various publics even more to their own further excessive gain...

Perhaps it is because the Awans are CIA assets rather than just your run of the mill foreign spies.

but in case you missed it, this should have been brought to people's attention before now.

Key Evidence in House Hacking Probe Mysteriously Disappeared

A server belonging to the House Democratic Caucus went missing in early 2017 after it had been identified by the inspector general as a key piece of evidence in a hacking probe.

The Office of Inspector General had found months earlier that a group of House IT workers had logged in to the server 5,735 times during the surveyed period between October 2015 and April 2016.

The IT workers, most of whom were members of the Awan family, were working at that time for dozens of House Democrats, earning an estimated $7 million since 2004.

Imran Awan was first hired by House Democrats in 2004, after which two of his brothers, his wife, and his sister-in-law were added to the congressional payroll despite having little to no IT experience.

In a behind-closed-door briefing to the House leadership in September 2016, the inspector general said their activity was suspicious in part because the IT workers had taken steps to conceal their identities.

I think that he is talking about Tanya Chutkan

We would contact the federal judge presiding over the Imran and Hina Alvi Awan case but she was appointed by Obama who — if the FBI was legitimate — likely would be implicated in the Awan’s IT escapades during their employment with Congress.

Something does really stink about this whole ordeal. How 44 congress members could allow foreign citizens to have access to their congressional computer files for that long is just mind boggling. Isn't it? And now they are being protected by people with connections to the Clintons. Pee-U!

And oh look. There is Fusion GPS again. They were involved in getting the Steele dossier published to alert us that Trump had ties to people in Russia who might have given him some help in being elected. Everything in the Steele dossier is hearsay. The people who spoke with him got a nudge from Sydney Bluementhal, another one of Hillary's BFFs.

Awans are one of the bouncing balls. Powerful players keep them protected while they are valuable in keeping us from seeing other threads in the game. Watch for players who show up in different operations over time in plain sight - the links of activity.

CIA is only one of several surveillance and operational organizations.

The Five Eyes intelligence alliance is a secretive coalition and surveillance arrangement of countries internationally which include the United States National Security Agency (NSA), Canada’s Communications Security Establishment Canada (CSEC), the United Kingdom’s Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), New Zealand’s Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) and the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD).

Some more surveillance alliances
Besides the Five Eyes alliance, there are a few of other surveillance partnerships also:

  • 9 Eyes: an addition in the Five Eyes which includes Denmark, France, Norway, and Netherlands.
  • 14 Eyes: an addition to the 9 Eyes which include Spain, Sweden, Italy, Belgium, and Germany.
  • 41 Eyes: includes all of the above with the allied coalition in Afghanistan.
  • Tier B countries with which the Five Eyes have “focused cooperation” on the network exploitation of the computer. The countries include Austria, Denmark, Czech Republic, Belgium, Hungry, Germany, Greece, Italy, Iceland, Japan, Norway, Luxembourg, Netherland, Poland, Spain, South Korea, Portugal, Turkey, Switzerland, and Sweden.
  • Club of Berne: 17 members excluding the US and including primarily European states.
  • The Counter Terrorist Group: it is a broad membership that includes the 17 European States of Club of Berne and also includes the US.
  • NATO Special Committee: it comprises of the head of the security services of member countries of NATO.

Just as Hillary's private server made State Dept business insecurely hers to do with as she pleased, but her leaked private monkey-business-with-public-business emails are to be treated as if a theft of classified 'national security'. Even when released to the public by a Judge.

And the (edit: cheat-revealing leaked emails) of the privately owned DNC were also to be treated as though government property and Hillary's treated as though a government official, despite the fact that they hadn't been able to cheat her into public office for ages.

Yet, as far as actual national security is concerned, there would appear to have been little to no concern among public officials for a very, very long time.
