(Damn liars): Perez infuriates liberals with Cuomo endorsement

Perez infuriates liberals with Cuomo endorsement
The DNC chairman pits himself against Deputy Chairman Keith Ellison by intervening in the Democratic primary for New York governor.
By EDWARD-ISAAC DOVERE 05/24/2018 04:38 PM EDT Updated 05/24/2018 05:06 PM EDT

Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez has said repeatedly that the national party shouldn’t, and won’t, endorse in primaries. But on Thursday, he stood on a Long Island stage and endorsed Andrew Cuomo, the New York governor who is facing a challenge from actress Cynthia Nixon.

The decision to pick favorites in a primary pits the DNC chair against the DNC deputy chair, Keith Ellison. And it has re-opened an ongoing internal fight within the party, while giving critics ammunition to question Perez’s leadership.

*

It also comes as the DNC is trying to put the 2016 battles in the past, despite lingering suspicions among many Sanders supporters about Perez. He was elected chair last year over Ellison, who was backed by Sanders.

*

Asked about Perez backing Cuomo, Ellison said in a statement, “The Democratic Party should not intervene in the primary process. It is our role to be fair to all contestants and let the voters decide.”

In March, when asked on C-SPAN about backing candidates in House primaries, Perez said the DNC should not endorse, as the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee had started doing.

And so it begins. The DNC cheats, liars, snd frauds are going to put their greasy thumbs on the scale again. And if anyone thinks they’te not going to fund raise for THEIR preferred candidates then you probably think that Clinton isn’t still running the ‘party’.

And yet most liberals will just get on their knees and say 'please sir, may I have another' before voting for these assholes anyway.

post are dismissive snotty remarks like “come on, we all knew this was coming.” Do you expect me NOT to post on something that is actually of relevance and importance just because you think it isn’t?

You “come on” and trying being civil for a change.

@Amanda Matthews And yet no matter how much bullshit is in the open for all to see, the electorate still bends over anyway. Oh sure, there might be a few token protests for the cameras and pundits, but let's face it: Americans love things the way they are. They don't want change, they want the illusion of change. "Yeah, let's vote for that Orange Cheeto/Woman in a pantsuit, that'll change everything."

If I'm dismissive, it's because we lose even when we win. And because people with disabilities will never count as people in this shithole we call a 'first world' country.

Perez' endorsement should be worth at least two or three extra votes statewide come primary day.

Seriously though, such an ostentatious display of circling the wagons is a fairly obvious public admission that the Cuomo camp is a lot more worried about Nixon than it claims.

The current working assumption appears to be that our Shroedinger's Cat system is still alive. But what if we all suspect it's not, and the real problem is we just can't bring ourselves to open the box?

only the Cuomo camp,

but the entire Establishment wing of the party.
When you're dragging Hillary Rotten Clinton out to your affair you know you're grasping at straws. Cuomo has his sights on a 2020 presidential run and doesn't need the nuisance of Nixon in his way.

the continued depth of corruption in the Democratic party. I cannot think of a better time for forming a third party. The Democrats are beyond redemption and the party needs to die. We can never move forward with the Democratic party blocking our way. They refuse to change.

And what is even more amazing is that they still do not care that they are about to lose the single largest potential voting bloc out there, millennials. The corrupt people who run the party and the legacy Democratic law makers will still get their donor money and increase their personal wealth while ignoring the people.

Of course this has been obvious to most of us for some time, but there's still so many people who think that if "we just elected the right kind of people" then our government will start working for us again.

These are the ones who refused to see that Obama's job was to protect the elites, the banks, the corporations, and the military industrial-spying-regime changing-complex.

They are blinded to the fact that the reason Hillary lost and Trump won was because of Obama's presidency and a direct reflection on his policies.

But today I learned that the only reason Trump won those 3 states that Hillary lost was because Russia put a lot more resources in them that made people distrust Herheinous. Apparently his win had nothing to do with people hurting from Obama's economic policies.

Dumb asses!

We have a government that does not represent us

Of course this has been obvious to most of us for some time, but there's still so many people who think that if "we just elected the right kind of people" then our government will start working for us again.

While it's true that if we just elected the right kind of people our government would start working for us again, that whole attitude ignores the unfortunate fact that "we" have zero chance of doing just that. As has been rehearsed here over and over, ordinary working-class voters have their choices pre-ordained for them long before they can obtain any say about the same.

These are the ones who refused to see that Obama's job was to protect the elites, the banks, the corporations, and the military industrial-spying-regime changing-complex.

They are blinded to the fact that the reason Hillary lost and Trump won was because of Obama's presidency and a direct reflection on his policies.

Actually, it's a direct reflection on Bubba's economic policies, which both Dumbya Bush and Sir Empty Suit maintained to the benefit of the elites, the banks, the corporations, and the military industrial-spying-regime changing-complex, and to the expense of all the rest of us. Try as she might, Her Heinous can't cut that albatross -- her husband -- off of her neck. That's why she lost.

But today I learned that the only reason Trump won those 3 states that Hillary lost was because Russia put a lot more resources in them that made people distrust Herheinous.

No real "resources" are required here. Anybody who needs her old union manufacturing job to remain intact is going to reject Her Heinous.

Apparently his win had nothing to do with people hurting from Obama's economic policies.

Which started out as Bubba's economic policies.

Dumb asses!

No joke!

she could have won quite easily. She was so confident of victory that she decided she could win and show the left it had nowhere else to go at the same time. The Bush family gave her their entire constituency, the haves and the have mores.

It was time to put us in our place. Bernie delegates were treated like garbage. Trump let Ted Cruz, who had called him a psychopathic liar, stand on the convention stage and tell delegates and the audience to vote their conscience. But Her would not even allow Nina Turner to make a nominating speech because Her could.

And Her chose Tim Kaine as a running mate, making sure everyone knew Her shift to the left to grab votes in the primary was a sham and over. If Her ever goes transgender Her will emerge as a very wealthy Tim Kaine.

Franklin Roosevelt had to accept Texas conservative John Nance Garner as his running mate, but he won. When John Kennedy selected Lyndon Johnson, Robert Kennedy was furious, but he won. Barack Obama didn't rely on Hillary Clinton to deliver her wall of poor white voters, (They hadn't yet become bigots during the Obama years.) he chose to run with Joe Biden who had much better relations with white working class voters than Her ever would, and he won.

If Hillary Clinton had chosen Sherrod Brown as running mate she'd be President of the United States. Does anyone think Brown couldn't have added 80,000 votes in his home state of Ohio, Michigan and western PA.

No need to look far for the explanation for Her loss. It's with Her.

simply put one of theirs on the Green party line to avoid the Primary altogether, and help the Repub win by drawing votes away from the Dem line. Can't beat the progressives? Screwum, we'll just run against them on the I line or G line!
