Pig Media Takes Yet Another Pot Shot At Millennials

[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4o_t0Yy3ug]

Before you ask: No. I did not watch the video. Why? Because anyone who has paid attention to what the bourgeoisie think of young folks should already know how this is going to turn out.

How about instead of shitting on us at every last turn, why don't we do things that actually help for once? Because Soshlizum. That's why.

Lately people have been asking me things like "Why are you so hostile?", "What's with the Marxist rhetoric?"

This is why. They are never, ever going to show us any respect even if we worked 96 hours a week for packing peanuts like the bourgeoisie want us to do. These sons of bitches are always going to find dupes to do pig work for them under the guise of reason, decorum and 'civil discussion'. They deserve no such dignity.

In short, these bastards are just saying "Don't question our system. Blame your kids and grandkids. Oh, and women too, because MGTOW (In the comment section)."

@Wink
this guy didn't do much to help himself. He denied his own millennialness, on the grounds that he's "conservative", whatever he thinks that means -- though I guess he's the perfect fucking conservative, sponging off his parents while presumably cheering the cuts in housing assistance to the working and non-working poor -- 'cuz as Thatcher told us, there's no society, only individuals and families, so I that makes it your parents' responsibility to hold your hand until the day they die and leave you the house.

Given the invitation to articulate some sort of argument about the plight of The Millennial Writ Large, or at least his own experience, he instead chose to say, "Hey, those millennials are liberals." So we never got to hear him explain how he found himself in this situation.

But maybe his tone deafness and inarticulateness are symptoms of some sort of neuro-atypical syndrome (those nobody has mentioned any such thing) -- in which case, I think AC needs to get up there and slap some sense into this dude, because he clearly lacks the necessary class consciousness to understand the actual source of his actual problems.

Either that, of course, or he's just a selfish jackass full of excuses for why he can't or won't do the least little thing to pull his own weight.

I don't know, and I'm guessing we aren't ever going to know. To be honest, I'm probably hoping we aren't ever going to know, because I'd rather we all stopped talking about this guy.

I've already told my kids that they can stay with me as long as I am ABLE to help them. I can see a future where I'm not able to, and have informed them of that. Not rushing them out the door, just letting them know that things work well now, and their contributions are a major reason WHY it works so well.

Yeah, I'm not even going to play the game of "Basement Dweller" vs "Hardworking Parent". I'm going with family, doing what they have to do to survive. When the pigs involved, you've failed as a family. I have failed in the past and never intend to do so again.

in blaming the victim, as usual, because if people can be convinced to think they know 'the answer' to any question, they often won't look any further.

Why the hell would any parents have to sue an adult child to get him out of the house, when they could simply and legally toss him out at any time?

Because it makes a good story to publicize for a PR point about how anyone willing to work can make his/her own home and life - something which might work on the unaware among the more affluent elderly who think this sort of reality still exists because it did in their time.

Edit: hadn't watched the video, then thought I'd better.

This involved, apparently, 5 notices over a period of 3 months and it was said that the first notice gave only 2 weeks notice, which seems weird. And it was said specifically that he bought his own food, yet it was also said that he doesn't have a job. Just a bad work record - in a world where employers for Joe-jobs can pick and choose among many applicants? Had a nice suit, though.

It all seems weird, and, as presented, I'd suspect that he does have some challenges that he'd rather not publicly air - except that it seems so carefully scripted to make him seem like an inarticulate entitled idiot, right up to the point where he's apparently forced to voluntarily admit that he's a millennial right at the end.

I wonder if there really was any such lawsuit... the corporate media hasn't shown itself to have an aversion to producing fake news and PR lines.

Not that this'll fool anyone living in the real world, who's been unable to find a living-wage job or to find affordable housing, (especially in a hurry) which is an ever-increasing portion of the population, not just Millennials.

I'm definitely going with PR for Millennial-blaming for the lousy real economy, the absence of jobs paying a living wage so that there's also a shortage of even lousy jobs, since so few can afford to buy anything, and the housing shortage.

what it was about instead of jumping to your conclusion that it was another dig at millennials

you would have saw that his parents wanted him out of their house. For gawd's sake he was 30 and his parents had every right to tell him to leave. They had been trying for years before they decided to take legal action. He wasn't paying rent to them, he wasn't looking for a job, he was mooching off his parents.

This has nothing to do with him being a millennial or people shitting on your generation. If I had still been living at home when I was 30 and not wanting to get a job my parents would have kicked me out years ago and I'm mean literally kicked me out.

Here's what this is about.

30-year-old ordered to vacate parents' home claims they harassed him

A 30-year-old man court-ordered to vacate his parents' home on Tuesday said he should be given more time to leave because of how much his parents "harassed" him about moving out.

Michael Rotondo, of Camillus, New York, had been living rent-free in his parents' Syracuse-area home for eight years when a State Supreme Court judge ruled on Tuesday in his parents’ favor, ordering him to move out.

Rotondo, who plans to appeal the decision, said he stopped speaking to his parents when they "alluded" to wanting him to leave the house in October, just one month after he lost custody and visitation rights of his son.

"I'm not bothering them by living here," Michael Rotondo said in an interview with ABC News' "Good Morning America." "It's little to no cost to them, and considering how much they've harassed me, I think it's the least that they should be required to do, which is just let me hang here a bit longer and use their hot water and electricity."

What this case is about is 180 degrees opposite than this

They are never, ever going to show us any respect even if we worked 96 hours a week for packing peanuts like the bourgeoisie want us to do. These sons of bitches are always going to find dupes to do pig work for them under the guise of reason, decorum and 'civil discussion'. They deserve no such dignity.

He could have been given a 3-month eviction notice years back, if he was that bad, which would have allowed a reasonable time to find a job and some sort of accommodations.

It certainly did seem to be used to PR-blame Millennials, though, in the bit shown above.

Hard to believe that anyone would think in those terms, although they really are out there; I've encountered a few that shocked hell out of me, quite recently...

@Ellen North

Apparently it is true. Sorry, but I'm not following your line of thinking. As far as I know he didn't sign a lease agreement with his parents to live at their house. He has been living with them rent free since he was 22 and his parents finally said enough. "Get a job and move out. He refused to leave and if he didn't have a legal agreement to live there then he should have to have left when they told him to. And it doesn't seem that they were just going to throw him out with no help.

Mark and Christina Rotondo said they gave their son multiple notices to vacate and even offered him money to help him find a place of his own.

Michael Rotondo admitted that he accepted the money, but used it for "other things."

{ I have no idea what he means by this }

"I took it but with consideration for my plans, and how my finances interacted with those plans, I did use the money for other things, but I don’t regret that," he said. "I would have preferred to have kept the money and given it back to them ... but I had to use it, and that's just how it is.

"

Why does he think that he is the poor picked on victim here?

"I'm not bothering them by living here," Michael Rotondo said in an interview with ABC News' "Good Morning America." "It's little to no cost to them, and considering how much they've harassed me, I think it's the least that they should be required to do, which is just let me hang here a bit longer and use their hot water and electricity."

I posted this in my previous comment and I still don't understand why people are thinking that his parents had no right to throw his freeloading ass out of their house especially when he has the attitude that they should have to support him for as long as he wants them to.

I still don't understand why this man should be the poster boy for how millennials are treated or why people feel that the media is taking putting them down for whatever reason.

Are things worse for this generation than for generations before theirs? Yes, but it not my generation's fault that companies took their successful companies that my parent's generation helped made them that way. The companies did it because they didn't want to have to continue to pay wages, benefits and retirement plans to people because they got in their way of profits!

The blame also falls on the government for allowing them to take advantage of tax breaks and subsidies, but keep their profits offshore after buying some bullshit post office box or company in a foreign country so that they don't have to pay taxes on their profits. Even though they still use our roads, other infrastructure on and the other things that we have to pay taxes on, but they don't.

Twice when companies wanted to bring their money back to America they should have had to pay the tax rates that had been set before, but congress gave them tax holidays
which meant that they saved hundreds of thousands or even millions on their taxes. This directly effected every person in this country, especially the ones who rely on government help to survive. The children probably took the brunt of those assholes' greed!

I'll admit that I might be missing the point every one here is making. It wouldn't be the first or last time I've done that, but I just don't see how this freeloading creep should be the hill that millennials want to plant their flag on.

@snoopydawg

There's simply been too much fake news and manipulation of facts to suit talking-points by corporate media for me to have any implicit faith in anything publicized in corporate media supporting any of said talking-points re-attributing fault for the economic/employment/housing situation to any/all of the victims en masse.

So, I consider the possibilities which have been evidenced in the past and which are ongoing in the ever-increasing and wide-ranging propaganda campaign.

It may well have been an actual incident played up in this manner to that talking point, which is far more common.

Personally, as stated earlier, if this was a factual presentation and that interview wasn't scripted, I think his parents should have given him a reasonable time of, say, 3 months notice and bunged him out years earlier.

And firmly believe that if he's challenged in some respect, as appeared possible, there ought to be a properly funded and run public service to provide all necessary aid to those in need of it, as there would be if the lunatic psychopaths weren't running the US asylum.

But that last sudden "Yes, I'm a Millennial" from him, in response to her previous question about Millennials as a group being entitled, and following his validation of this talking-point (the economy is great in the richest country in the world with more hard-working, smart, successful billionaires than ever; it's those damn lazy, entitled Millennial/Bernie-Bros,) by feeble specifically 'entitled' excuses dying off into mumbles, leaving what appeared to be an intended last impression that this representative of an entire generation was just like all the rest of those slobs, left me highly suspicious.

I've been having to learn to be more cynical, especially regarding those already known to be working so hard to manipulate us. Personally, I do regard that as a survival technique, one too-often only surfacing in myself when it seems most obvious as a possibility.

Edited for a missed letter, an added comma and a word somehow left unaltered during sentence reconstruction. I'm keeping that Typo Queen title until they pry my cold, dead fingers off the keyboard.

Re-edit because I forgot to add that your lucid and concise explanation illustrates the real cause not only of the economic situation, but why one example of an blatantly 'entitled' Millennial would be held up to the public as a poster boy of how Millennials as an entire generation purportedly expect to be treated and as support for that generational portion of the 'divide and conquer' strategy which has served TPTB so well for so long in preventing effective resistance to their looting and perception control agenda - and which began to fall apart with Bernie's campaign.

Gawd, I love you and the people at this site, where we can actually discuss misunderstandings in a civil fashion without shutting each other out in knee-jerk outrage - the latter serving TPTB's agenda so well...

I can see where Aspie's coming from, though.

Altogether too often, the only acceptable evidence of wanting a real life, a stable livelihood, etc., is reliable success at those endeavors. Like Aspie, I know altogether too well what it's like to have literally no options. My ability to work most minimum-wage jobs was gone by the time I was 29, casualty of osteoarthritis. The specific skills I was trained for -- component-level electronic troubleshooting and command line computer operating systems -- were almost valueless on my 30th birthday, casualties of overseas job exportation and technological obsolescence respectively.

I was advised to "go with the flow"; but for me, there was no "flow" to go with. No matter how much I wanted a real adult life, no matter what actions I could take to get one, it wasn't to be had. So yes, I do know something about being accused of not wanting a job and a life regardless of the actual truth of the matter.

Years later, CNN dredges this "story", which frankly should never have seen the light of day, out of the quagmire and promotes the fuck out of it.

One cannot really blame those of us whose life stories are stained by years of nothing but rejection -- as Aspie's and mine are -- for suspecting that the motive behind this is to place yet another rod to our backs for doing what our society told us to do and failing at it even once. Failure makes capital no profit, so the freedom to fail must be eliminated. And the Serfs must be reminded of this fact from time to time, too.

but he keeps getting rejected for various reasons mainly because he doesn't have a drivers license. He has been trying hard to find a job.

It was difficult for you to find work because of your disabilities and I bet you would love to change that. I know that I would love to go back to working in the career that I loved, but for now that's not in the cards for me either.

But this guy is not even trying to find a job. He's living with his parents who he said ""It's little to no cost to them".

This means that his parents ARE supporting him and it seems that he feels that he is entitled that his parents continue to do that. He then goes on to say this:

"I think it's the least that they should be required to do, which is just let me hang here a bit longer and use their hot water and electricity."

Why should his parents be required to let him continue to support him in any way if he refuses to try to find a job to support himself? Which apparently this is what he is doing. He says that he buys his own food, but where is he getting the money for it? Food stamps? I'm not sure how he would qualify for them for more than a few months because too get them one has to be disabled or have some other way to qualify for them. This was the new rule after Clinton's welfare reform bill passed. Millions of people who were able to get them when they were unemployed were kicked out of the program after the unemployment rate dropped.

This guy just seems like he feels that his parents owe him to take care of him while he does nothing to help himself. I can see him thinking that he might expect them to help him if he had expended all options to find a job, but he's not trying. He admits that.

There are many of millennials still living at home with their parents because they don't make enough money to live on their meager wages, especially if they are up to their eyeballs in student loan debt and that's a direct reflection on this country not paying fair wages while the corporations just received their f*cking tax cuts which they are not passing on to their employees like the republicans swore they would do. They're being trickled down on all right, but it's not with money!

OK, now that's different, of course. If I had made the impression that I agreed with this in any way, my profound apologies! Even when I had to live like this, I knew it was my responsibility to improve my circumstances if I could. When I stopped daily, active job-hunting it was because I was no longer able to pay the consequent expenses. Even then, I did what I could.

I still think that CNN et al., did a public disservice by publicizing this "news story" at all, for a variety of reasons. The public does not need to know everything about everyone!

We be cool. I wasn't aware that this was an old story. I saw an article on it yesterday, but didn't read it until today.

We folks who are already suffering from daily pain shouldn't have to have the worries and stress for trying to survive on our meager resources and allowances. This just adds more stress which makes things more difficult to deal with.

For now I know that congress isn't going to screw with the amount we get for food stamps because the freedom caucus thought that it didn't hurt the poor enough and refused to sign off on it, but it's worrisome that states are adding work requirements for abled body adults. This makes me feel guilty that for now I've been spared for now. But for how long will we get the break? Will they think of some job that even disabled people are able to do? But this is just one more thing that they use to divide us.

Gawd I despise people who have so much, but they still want even more. And they could give a rat's ass about people who they think are taking their resources! Mouth Breathers!
