I like living in my head because in there, everyone is kind and innocent. Once you start integrating yourself into the world, you realize that people are nasty, mean creatures. They're worse than zombies. People try to crush your soul and destroy your happiness, but zombies just want to have a little nibble of your brain.
― J. Cornell Michel, Jordan's Brains: A Zombie Evolution
Greetings optimists, dreamers and idealists. The soothsayers and manipulators are at full throttle. Even the C99 essays are dark and droll. It may be sandwich board time.
I am a contrarian, with a plan. I have decided to become a prepper. I spent the past week riding ~200 miles/day. The goal is to reach my next service interval, wear out my tires and build a some stamina. Then head for the motorcycle shop to prepare for escape.
Funk all the gloom and doom, I plan to hit the road for an extended life experience. There are places to go and people to meet. My consciousness is consumed by a plan to head for Colorado, to get high.
Last summer, I traversed fifteen of Colorado's highest road passes. This summer, the goal is another fifteen Colorado passes and one in Wyoming. Maybe more!
The macroscopic plan is to zig zag through southern Colorado, visit The National Parks of Utah, then zig zag back through central, northern Colorado and southern Wyoming.
Spending days in natural splendor and evenings imbibing, beats the funk out of the soul sucking news cycle and the whining cacophony.
Fight the feeling, keep your spirits high. Get high!
I can not wait to visit Lake City. Slumgullion Pass and Spring Creek Pass are on the ride to Lake City. The Million Dollar Highway is just to the west, making for a pair of exciting days.
Enough rock(s), for now. It is great to have something to look forward to. The anticipation displaces the darkness. Turn it up. Twist the throttle. Have a great weekend. The thread is OPEN.

I wouldn't touch
one of your bikes with a ten foot pole, if I rode one I'd most likely fall down with it and squash myself like a bug. I can though, really appreciate the idea of riding. I've always loved road trips (in a car). Your's sounds wonderful. Enjoy it to the max.
It's an acquired taste
I started motorcycling back in my twenties. It was a cheap way to commute and tour. Quickly. Commuting in Pittsburgh, I could shave 30% off the time, compared with a car. Since Sue's death, I have gone back to mostly riding. I bought myself the right tool for the job. Motorcycling makes an extended road trip much less expensive. The isolation and the ambience are very exhilarating.

Nice, glad you have the proper tools.
Good 'late' morning, Tim ~~~
I have family in for the holiday weekend, so I got to sleep in today. Looking forward to three more late-starting mornings.
I hope you start your journey down I-40 so you can swing by my casa. I'd love to meet you and share some good ol' NM homegrown!
Have a beautiful day and long weekend, folks!

Hola compadres! Look, it's TimDay already, funktime.
Today we consider substituting travel for travail, always a great idea, but for a geezer like me, bike is, sadly out. For us it is mostly hauling the travel trailer around, or sometimes auto+motel or b&b. One great major benefit is that even where I have connectivity, I skip news except that coming through e-mail or skimming c99p. It it wonderful to be free of that. Good luck and good fortune on your riding and roaming, Tim. Most of all, good freedom from malarkey and the msm and it's sorry-assed news cycle.
I haven't done weed in ages, then, mistakenly dawdled about going up to the nearest dispensary and getting some legal stuff. I've been looking to tinker with high CBD drops or spray for various issues. Now my damn doctor put me on something that I need to consult with him about simultaneous weed use, but needs a few weeks to normalize and then tests for dosage check. Lesson: never postpone shit.
TimDay isn't just funkday, it's kick back afternoon at la casa, and I'm ready for it, but also starting some new routines and regimens, so morning will be crazyland. That said, off to craziness I go.

Apparently Google, YouTube, and those corporations in the Subject need moar!, so they give an ugly black censorship box instead of the music y'all are trying to share freely. Thanks anyway.
no joy
Would be nice to avoid posting embedded videos that force advertisements on users who prefer internet to TV. Please! That is what cable news is for, not the world wide web. Ad sponsored content is garbage to be avoided, not subscribed to, that's what I think.
The "Standard YouTube License" or "Creative Commons" videos show up and play fine without having to stream any garbage first. Thanks.
