US ‘freezes funding’ for White Helmets as group’s Douma chem attack claim falls apart

There’s only one thing to say about this: it’s about damn time we quit funding these terrorist thugs. I’m sure you’ll notice that it’s one of Obama’s dishonest, discredited accomplices who, right on schedule, is out front of the media throwing a hissy because the funding for the bastids has been cut off for their favorite child killers. Samantha Power is up to her neck in this barbarity and the RUSSIA! fraud as much as anyone else who served under The Empty Suit.

It’s time for Power to come clean about her ‘unmasking’ requests

Here is an article that indicates that not everybody believes all the previous propaganda about McCain’s BFFs.

US ‘freezes funding’ for White Helmets as group’s Douma chem attack claim falls apart
Published time: 4 May, 2018 09:26

As the reputation of the controversial militant-linked White Helmets continues to crumble, even the US State Department seems to be having second thoughts about supporting the group, reportedly placing a freeze on its funding.
The State Department’s support for the White Helmets is “under active review,”according to a CBS News report. The group reportedly hasn’t received funding in weeks, but neither has it received formal confirmation that Washington’s financial assistance has come to a complete halt. This would mean a significant blow for the group, as the money accounts for about one-third of the White Helmets’ overall funding.

An internal State Department document cited by CBS said that its Near East Bureau needed confirmation from President Donald Trump’s administration by April 15 in order to approve funding for the White Helmets. If that wasn't received, the department would initiate “shut-down procedures on a rolling basis.”

Online reaction to the report has been mixed, with some continuing to hail the work of the White Helmets. Among them was Samantha Power, the former US ambassador to the UN.

Here are a couple of stories

The New York Times has published a major two-part exposé titled “The Libya Gamble” on how then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton pushed President Obama to begin bombing Libya five years ago this month. Today, Libya is a failed state and a haven for terrorists. How much should Hillary Clinton be blamed for the crisis? We speak to journalist Scott Shane of The New York Times.

March 3, 2016

The Libya Gamble: Inside Hillary Clinton’s Push for War & the Making of a Failed State

*****

As we speak with scholar Vijay Prashad about how the United States carried out regime change in Libya and left behind a failed state, he notes: “The story in Libya is not dissimilar to the story in Iraq.” Both are politically divided societies in which the United States deposed long-entrenched leaders, Muammar Gaddafi in Libya and Saddam Hussein in Iraq, and left behind failed states. Prashad adds that “in both instances, when the strongman was captured … they said, 'We are ready to negotiate,' and the United States essentially was not interested in negotiating.” He says the outcome in Libya contributed to the destabilization of Mali, Tunisia and much of northern Africa.

accepted as "truths".

Appalling Propaganda from Amy Goodman About Libya

Amy Goodman of Democracy NOW! has become one of the most disingenuous news figures this country has to offer and that’s saying a lot because there are numbers of them. She is not worthy of your trust, she is not worthy of your time, she is not worthy of your respect… anymore. Such a sad legacy she now leaves behind after a long and storied career as a dedicated teller of the truth in spite of the power aligned against her.

For whatever reason, she has become just another prostitute in service of the globalists who are at this minute still attacking the people of Libya, still bombing them and their infrastructure, still laying siege to cities and populations who refuse to surrender to NATO powers, and still planning how to dice up the people of Libya’s state assets to hand them over to their favorite corporate contributors.

And Amy Goodman is in their service, lying to her audience on a daily basis.

Amy Goodman never questioned the basis of the NATO "intervention" in Libya to start with. She automatically accepted the need for a "humanitarian intervention". If you remember, the Pentagon disagreed that Benghazi was in any danger from Qaddafi's forces.

I remember having a discussion at DKos with most people saying how wonderful and safe it was in Libya now that Qaddafi was killed. I warned that the country had been turned into a hell hole and things would degenerate rapidly. Everyone scoffed at me. But I was correct. About a month later, Ambassador Christopher Stevens was killed. Libya is now a failed state instead of the most prosperous African country.

Gaddafi’s Libya was Africa’s Most Prosperous Democracy

Contrary to popular belief, Libya, which western media described as “Gaddafi’s military dictatorship”, was in actual fact one of the world’s most democratic States.
...
Democracy is not just about elections or political parties. True democracy is also about human rights. During the NATO bombardment of Libya, western media conveniently forgot to mention that the United Nations had just prepared a lengthy dossier praising Mr. Gaddafi’s human rights achievements. The UN report commended Libya for bettering its “legal protections” for citizens, making human rights a “priority,” improving women’s rights, educational opportunities and access to housing. During Mr. Gaddafi’s era housing was considered a human right. Consequently, there was virtually no homelessness or Libyans living under bridges. How many Libyan homes and bridges did NATO destroy?

One area where the United Nations Human Rights Council praised Mr. Gaddafi profusely is women’s rights. Unlike many other nations in the Arab world, women in Libya had the right to education, hold jobs, divorce, hold property, and have an income. When Colonel Gaddafi seized power in 1969, few women went to university. Today, more than half of Libya’s university students are women. One of the first laws Mr. Gaddafi passed in 1970 was an equal pay for equal work law, only a few years after a similar law was passed in the U.S. In fact, Libyan working mothers enjoyed a range of benefits including cash bonuses for children, free day care, free health care centers, and retirement at 55.

Democracy is not merely about holding elections simply to choose which particular representatives of the elite class should rule over the masses. True democracy is about democratizing the economy and giving economic power to the majority.

Fact is, the west has shown that unfettered free markets and genuinely free elections simply cannot co-exist. Organized greed always defeats disorganized democracy. How can capitalism and democracy co-exist if one concentrates wealth and power in the hands of few, and the other seeks to spread power and wealth among many? Mr. Gaddafi’s Jamahiriya however, sought to spread economic power amongst the downtrodden many rather than just the privileged few.
...
Muammar Gaddafi inherited one of the poorest nations in Africa. However, by the time he was assassinated, Libya was unquestionably Africa’s most prosperous nation. Libya had the highest GDP per capita and life expectancy in Africa and less people lived below the poverty line than in the Netherlands. Libyans did not only enjoy free health care and free education, they also enjoyed free electricity and interest free loans. The price of petrol was around $0.14 per liter and 40 loaves of bread cost just $0.15. Consequently, the UN designated Libya the 53rd highest in the world in human development.

Amy seems to have some hit and miss topics that she will cover with credibility, others not so much. Last year she had a Syrian propagandist on her show that was so very hideous it was what caused people to look into who was financing her show. The Ford foundation was one of the ones I found in an article on this. Sibel Edmunds had some great reporting on the Syrian butcher who Amy interviewed. Alas, rumors are the even Sibel has sold out.

The reason I mentioned Amy is that she fell hook-line-and-sinker for the White Helmets PR/BS.
I still check her show in case she hits one right, Berta Caceres comes to mind, or DAPL.
Problem is, for a show that touted as "the war and peace report" she comes down on the side of war a little too often for me. I think she believes in "humanitarian intervention", I'm not sure there is such a thing.

This is the Edmonds article I read about where she takes down the Syrian propagandist. Haven't found the one on her financing yet.

http://www.wrongkindofgreen.org/tag/democracy-now/

I'm assuming that she means Amy said this:

“Well, absolutely, the red line statement in 2013 and after the chemical weapons attack and nothing happening to stop the Assad regime and its allies from attacking Syrians, killing Syrians by chemical weapons and other means, definitely, this set a precedent for really a green light from the world, including the Obama administration and including this administration, that everything is OK in Syria, attacking people is OK, killing people is OK, continue doing what you’re doing.”

Umm, yeah something happened. Assad got rid of his chemical weapons by giving them to us which we destroyed in 2014. I'm pretty sure that Amy knows that. Big swing and a miss here.

I came across this story a few days ago and have been hoping to find time to put together an essay about it. Roger Waters not only denounced them at his show, he went public with the behind the scenes manipulation they engaged in to try to bamboozle him. That’s why he made the statement at the concert. Here’s the original article by Max Blumenthal:

Exclusive Emails Show How The White Helmets Tried to Recruit Roger Waters

It’s a very enlightening article, I encourage everyone to read the whole thing. Difficult to pick quotes to share, it’s all so interrelated.

Just days before his recent concert in Barcelona, Waters was lobbied again to support the White Helmets, this time by an eccentric French photojournalist affiliated with what he described as a “very powerfull [sic] syrian network.” The activist demanded to join Waters on stage and deliver a message for the “children of syria.”

Waters did not respond to either request.

These emailed solicitations from White Helmets representatives and activists were provided by Waters to the Grayzone Project, and are published in full at the bottom of this article. The documents demonstrate how the organization’s well-funded public relations apparatus has targeted celebrities as the key to the hearts and minds of the broader Western public.

Over the past two years, The Syria Campaign has secured endorsements of the White Helmets’ work from actors including George Clooney, Aziz Ansari, Ben Affleck, and pop stars like Coldplay and Justin Timberlake. The Syria Campaign also helped orchestrate the production of an Oscar-winning Netflix documentary about the White Helmets in 2017. In the email to Waters, a Corniche Group staffer urged the singer to watch that film and provided him with a link to its trailer.

Even a Netflix “documentary” to help push this facade. Unbelievable. And how successful they’ve been in getting dupes to shore up their image. He totally pulls the curtain back on how they are working this propaganda scheme, and how deep and wide it is. This should be front page news.

Wow, I just read the first part, maybe about one-third ot it, it’s very long, detailed and informative. Unfortunately I’m out of time this morning, off to work soon, so I’ll have to finish it later. I love this kind of detailed, well-researched and documented reporting. The White Helmets want a Nobel peace prize too? Sure. Why not?

It’s amazing to me how many different tentacles are wrapped around the levers of power, and how well it works ... control information, thus control minds and thinking.

I’m still really disappointed about the Netflix documentary. I watch lots of documentaries... and I like to think I’m learning something when I do. Now , I realize I have to question them all. I know that’s a good thing to understand, but still... ugh.

I’m so glad to have so many great people here helping get the truth out. “Open your eyes...” I work on that every day.

Thank you very much for the link. Good to see you, as always! Smile

Narrated by Roger Waters and featuring leading observers of the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, the film explores how the Israeli government, the U.S. government, and the pro-Israel lobby have joined forces, often with very different motives, to shape American media coverage of the conflict in Israel's favor.

Poem - Mahmoud Darwish

Poem - The Penultimate speech of the 'Red Indian' to the white man

A long time must go by
Before our present becomes history
Just like us
We will face the long march
But first
We will defend the trees we wear
We will defend the bell of the night and the hanging moon over our huts
We will defend the leaping deer
And the clay of our pots
And the eagle feathers in the wings of our final songs
But soon you will erect your world on our remains
You will pave over the sacred places
To open a road to the satellite moon
This is the age of industry
The age of coal
Fossils to fuel your thirst for fine wine
There are the dead and the settlements
The dead and the bulldozers
The dead and the hospitals
There are radar screens to capture the dead
Who die more than once in this life
To capture the dead who walk after death
The dead who breed the beast of civilisation
The dead who die to carry the earth
After the relics are gone
Where, oh white master, are you taking my people... and yours?

Samantha Power gets PUMMELED on twitter after she voices her support for Al Qaeda proxy White Helmets

Now that the the US State Department’s support for the White Helmets is “under active review,” according to a CBS News report…which as close as you will get to the United States government admitting that the entire Douma chemical attack was a complete hoax…the die hard Deep State shills are crawling out from under their holes to express their “outrage” that the Al Qaeda proxy PR jihadists (branded the White Helmets) may finally be disbanded and defunded.

Which would essentially mean no more bullshit false flags in Syria.

Former UN Ambassador under former POTUS Obama, Samantha Power (a woman who lusts after the overthrow of Assad), tweeted out her loyal support for the jihadist group, sprinkled with some hollywood Oscar propaganda, believing she could fool millions of twitter users who recognize the White Helmets for what they truly are…head chopping, Al Qaeda/ISIS terrorists.
