What to watch...

Longtime Clinton supporters last week received an invitation offering access to the family (the green invitation features photos of Bill, Hillary and Chelsea) at a Clinton Foundation benefit on May 24 in New York, at prices ranging from $2,500 ("Friend") for cocktail party and dinner, up to $100,000 ("Chair") for "Leadership Reception for two, a premium table of ten, program recognition as Gala Chair and invitations to the Clinton Foundation Annual Briefing." The foundation's streamlined mission: "create economic opportunity, improve public health, and inspire civic engagement and service."

Hillary Clinton this morning will lead the first meeting of her Onward Together political group, on New York's Upper East Side. She and Howard Dean will welcome 11 partner organizations for a day of sessions "about harnessing the energy and activism post-election." In the afternoon, the groups have the chance to meet with 150 donors. Last year, OT had 33,000 donors and gave over $1 million to partner groups. The group says that figure will be higher for midterms this year.

President Clinton publishes a novel on June 4, co-authored with thriller writer James Patterson, "The President Is Missing" (preorder link). The two will appear together at BookCon, a massive booksellers' convention, at the Javits Center in New York on June 3. Tickets are already sold out. Then the pair have a multi-city book tour in June — together and separately. An eight-part series comes to Showtime in 2019.

Chelsea Clinton is a prolific tweeter. She has been repeatedly critical of the campaign memoir by the N.Y. Times' Amy Chozick, "Chasing Hillary," shouting out to people who comment on the book: "Hi Ana Marie! ... Thank you Max ... Hi Dan! ... Hi Katy! ... Hi Jeet! ... Hi Amy! ... Hi @amychozick!"

I laughed when I was reading this shit because it just goes to show how absolutely STUPID and ethically bankrupt this country has become. The Clinton Creature is coming back to front for another money making scheme even though she's already being scrutinized for money laundering and fraud (not to mention the whole Clinton Dossier mess). The #metoo movement is destroying careers everywhere but old Slick, a proven predator and probable pedophile, never seems to pay for his sins. And the kid is comparable to a tsetse fly. A creature who is a pernicious annoyance that spreads the dreaded Clintonitis wherever it lands.

It’s hard to believe that the Clinton snd the Trump family’s are seen to be legitimate and/or morally acceptable people to run our poor country but that’s how far we’ve fallen. And both the Clinton spawn and the greasy clown that Donnie & his first rejected wife spawned are seen to be future political movers and shakers. We’ve seen the hype about the parasitic Clinton kids great political future, but apparently there are plenty of equally stupid people on the right that thing Greaseball Jr. is a future political star as well:

*”Don Jr. said he is interested in running for office, such as governor of New York, but the position of mayor of New York would be less interesting to him,” one of the meeting’s attendees told Page Six.

Trump Jr. reportedly said returning to business became “boring” after joining his father on the presidential campaign trail.

"The politics bug bit me,” he said, according to the report.
Trump Jr. did not specify when he would consider a run for the spot. Current Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D), who is a vocal opponent of the president, is up for reelection in 2018.

He reportedly added that he is not considering a run for Senate or Congress.

Maybe Don Jr. can return the favor when he becomes Governor of New York.

As for "Springtime for Hitlery and the Democrats" — donors will pay their money and tell the Party what they expect in return. They will prance around in their finery on the Upper East Side, posing as activists for Wall Street and the military.

I don't expect anything to come of the investigations and legal actions regarding the Clintons or their Foundation. But I also don't expect their actions to bring a game-changing victory for the Democrats in the midterms. The grumbling of the disenfranchised continues.

Stocks were showing a bit of strength today, until Benjamin Netanyahu, the PM of Israel, delivered a national address bombshell saying that he had literally tons of proof that Iran had based its nuclear arms deal on a pack of lies. Trumpolini, who presumably had been given a 'heads up' on this, was quick to add, 'see just like I said.'

And so geopolitical risk tumbled back into the markets, at least for the moment. Stocks slumped and gold and silver took back part of the jamjob they had been undergoing from the open in honor of an FOMC/NFP week.

I think it is reasonable to take a highly skeptical stance on quite a few things that we are told these days. The scolding voice of the very important media poobah may say, 'You little upstart, how dare you question our faithful public servants?'

You dare not question them, and they dare not allow it, because they have so much to hide.

To be caught lying used to be a career-ending behaviour among the privileged, but now it seems to be the rule, almost a right of passage. Lying has no consequences. Indeed, it is de rigueur, almost expected, of a public figure. How else could their fellows trust them to be complacent, to do the corrupt thing?

And these days cleverness is passe— the more blatant the lie the better, especially if it is punctuated with some vulgar personal insult to show that you mean business, and are not to be trifled with.

But publicly telling the liars that they are liars is considered highly impolite, and 'not unifying.' Any outsider who dares to tell the elite that they are full of it will provoke alarmed reproaches from their colleagues in the established and the privileged.

After all, the elite are caught in a terrible credibility trap, and the least amount of truth telling sounds like a gunshot in the room. Our established thought leaders in the media will not continue to be insiders, with access to power and big paychecks, if they openly question or allow impertinent questions to be asked of their fellow insiders.

Wow, they just don't get it! Trump won in an electoral landslide. All of her heinous' large majorities were in three states, CA, NY and MA. Take those out and Trump also had a landslide in the popular vote. The system worked exactly as designed - to keep a few populous states from riding herd on the nation. Herness can't possibly win a national contest. But she can Make Trump Great Again. And she can inflict enormous agony and disgust on America once again. Where's my barf bag?

They would run her and do all the same rigging and cheating as before, and she'd still get top billing on Maddow, front page NYT, yak-yaking all over the TeeVee... The same deluded people that rave Russia! Russia!! Russia!!! would be behind her 110% despite any and all obvious corruption. Hell, they've kicked any leftists out of the party that hadn't already walked off in disgust. The super-delegates are still there, too. If anything, they wouldn't even need shenanigans unless Sanders runs again.

Then they'd make more ridiculous excuses for losing -- like now, only worse.

With some luck, she might just be the coup de grâce for the Democratic party. That might be a good thing.
