Trust someone? On the Intertubz?!

Thank goodness I only tune in sporadically, fortunately I've had Curling to distract me but there's only so many times you can watch the World Championships (5 so far, in the Men's Sweden over Canada 7 - 3 in 8 Ends, in the Women's Canada over Sweden 7 - 6 in an extra End, Mixed Doubles starts today in Östersund, Sweden so you're lucky I have some down time).

Still, I detect some discontent and ill feeling.

As someone who never pushes two words together except to blow something up I humbly suggest that perhaps your expectations could use some examination.

Have you ever been disappointed that someone didn't like you or friend you on Facebook?

As Admiral Akbar says- it's a trap. You can never, ever devote enough time and effort to satisfy the demands of the kitties, doggies, kiddies, and food that flood your In Box clamoring for attention and slavish agreement in all aspects. I'm sorry, that curry looks like ferret barf.

My point is, why put it out there if your ego is so fragile that it can't withstand anything except unconditional love? If you want a friend in Washington- get a dog (not that cats don't show affection but I draw the line at curry- kiddies are good, I just can't eat a whole one).

If you think I'm a dope I expect you'll tell me and then I'll play with you until I get bored. That's how it works. Of course it's easy for me, I'm admired for my detestability. I am not my avatar (though if you've ever met me you'll know I'm emotionally honest) and I don't give a rat's ass what you think. In debate I'm here to win, not persuade, and leave your eviscerated corpse as a warning to others.

This cautionary tale applies to politics as well. On the Tubz I'm a bit more upfront, my real life opponents seldom get a warning or feel the knife until it's far too late.

I do understand the case for conciliation but there are a lot of compromisers and few warriors. That said, every wack conspiracy theory isn't true (call me a deluded optimist but I think we landed on the moon in 1969, on the other hand Ted Cruz's Dad totally assassinated Kennedy).

Above all you should never trust me. I mean, it's not as if I've been entirely consistent for 13 years. All that shows is that my tradecraft is good and my character shallow and one dimensional.

Well, most people want that whether they admit it or not. In this case no, she doesn't so much disapprove as have allergies.

I try to stay downwind.

some words said (by me apparently) that have ruffled some feathers. It happens. I tend to wear work boots where slippers might be more appropriate. Walk softly and all that.
As for curling... they still cover that on teevee? I get a couple of Canadian stations but never come across it.

It's only April, I've been really busy.

NBCSN and its offshoot, The Olympic Channel, cover it.

And, like ek, I watch when I can. Curling is my idea of sport: gently played by ladies and gentlemen making their best efforts to act like such.

A strange "sport." Kinda like bowling.
Bowling is fun once in awhile, but it's nothing I'd watch on tv.
Curling is more fun to watch.

Sounds more like the beginning of a soliloquy from the mustachioed villain in a 1920's talkie.

Looking like Gene Kelly in a boater and pin striped linen, eating a hot dog.

Or you could google my Cliffs Notes.

In 1926 I was in my mid 30s writing for the Baltimore Herald in a backwater town called Hillsboro, a mélange of Moorish and Methodist it must have been designed by a congressman. I had a nice clean place to stay. I left it to go there.
