Stone free to do what I please
Stone free to ride the breeze
Stone free I can't stay
I got to got to got to get away right now
- James Marshall Hendrix -

Happy 420! Stone free that's what I want to be!

I think the key is to not have two funks to give.

If the sun refused to shine
I don't mind, I don't mind
If the mountains fell in the sea
Let it be, it ain't me
Alright, I got my own world to look through
And I'm not going to copy you

Now if a 6 turned out to be 9
I don't mind, I don't mind
If all the hippies cut off all their hair
I don't care, I don't care
Dig, cause I got my own world to live through
And I ain't going to copy you

White-collared conservatives flashing down the street
Pointing their plastic finger at me
They're hoping soon, my kind will drop and die
But I'm going to wave my freak flag high
Wave on, wave on ...

- James Marshall Hendrix -

How shall we celebrate the day? How about some funkin' Purple Haze?

And another funkin' thing song.

Happy 420!

The funkin' Power of Soul!

I just want to talk to you
I won't uh, do you no harm
I just want to know about your different lives
On this here people farm
I heard some of you got your families
Living in cages, tall and cold
And some just stay there and, dust away
Past the age of old
Is this true? Please let me talk to you

I just want to know about
The rooms behind your minds
Do I see a vacuum there, or am I going blind?
Or is it just remains from vibrations and echoes
Long ago
Things like "Love the World" and "Let your fancy Flow"
Is this true? Please let me talk to you
Let me talk to you

I have lived here before, the days of ice
And of course this is why I'm so concerned
And I come back to find the stars misplaced
And the smell of a world that has burned
The smell of a world that has burned

- James Marshall Hendrix -

Don't let this world get you down/up.

Have a great funkin' weekend!

The funkin' thread is OPEN.

First cannabis-derived drug poised for FDA approval after winning support from advisers

The drug, Epidiolex, would be administered in a syrup form and is made from a purified ingredient in cannabis called cannabidiol, or CBD. It is intended to treat severe seizures in children caused by rare forms of epilepsy called Lennox-Gastaut and Dravet syndromes.

Most patients with those diseases have uncontrolled daily seizures despite treatment, putting them at high risk for developmental disabilities, serious injury and premature death, the FDA staff said in background materials released this week.

The unanimous support of the 13-member FDA advisory committee seemed assured after agency staff members gave the drug a positive review, saying that clinical trials showed that it was effective at reducing seizures and that side effects, including possible liver complications, could be managed. The precise mechanism by which CBD reduces seizures isn’t known, the FDA said.

@eyo Toward the later stage of Sue's ALS, we went to a clinic appointment. The neurologist told us that there were no new drug trials, nor any remaining treatments. He suggested we try cannabis, and stated that he had research documenting the benefits for ALS patients.

I have trouble organizing my day. Thus the house fills up with open and unopened boxes. And fast movement in the kitchen: mice. I need to set my new traps, killer kind not friendly. After two visits from State Police for wellness checks and one visit from Adult Protective Services, my mail lady who instigated it all now drives up my 900' driveway to put deliveries on my porch. I drag in at least three boxes or bags a day. So if she's paying attention I am alive. I have not yet determined how to greet her; we all on this road have roadside mailboxes. Am I grateful? No. But she was just concerned about the days I do not venture out. I could start using the deadbolt but it's keyed the same as the doorknob. With crappy new Schlage hardware. And during the first visit by the Staties I was in bed and did not answer the door after there were flashlights in all my windows. They called my daughter who told them where the outside key was hidden. How did they get info so fast to call her? enough to be paranoid.

I am now a dealer for CBD oil, in different strengths up to 1500 mg/ml. Still unopened here is my 750 mg/ml so I am only using the wimpy 100 mg/ml. Still a bizarre extraction because the oils are always different colors. Growing company, CTFO.

You miss Sue and I miss Jeff. I dream that he's here. It's been nearly 8 years. I now feel like he's here but in a different bed or something. That happened in RL.

Still effing winter here. Snow is back on the ground. Everyone I communicate with in the NE part of the US agrees as well as friends in Ontario Canada.

Back to bed. A book on Kindle or mayhaps, sleep.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is requesting interested persons to submit comments concerning abuse potential, actual abuse, medical usefulness, trafficking, and impact of scheduling changes on availability for medical use of five drug substances. These comments will be considered in preparing a response from the United States to the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding the abuse liability and diversion of these drugs. WHO will use this information to consider whether to recommend that certain international restrictions be placed on these drugs. This notice requesting comments is required by the Controlled Substances Act (the CSA).

DATES:
Submit either electronic or written comments by April 23, 2018.

@janis b hi there, I was thinking fondly of you yesterday as I was scarfing down a bowl of red lentil curry with chick peas. Waay too much garlic in it but yum it was good. All you did one day was ask me if I ever ate lentils. Ding! YEP I do now, found the greens and reds in the bulk aisle. Thanks.

C99ers are great. One day last spring I was so depressed, so out of my mind, I got up from the kbd and went to the river to ponder a pocket full of rocks. I was actually staring at a stone wall when a stranger stopped and started telling me the history of Cloverdale... his great-grandparents had settled here and he was amazing. We talked for about an hour, many times asking each others names 'cause we couldn't remember. The last time, as I was walking away, he said "Don, like the dawn of civilization, ya know?" And so I will never ever forget that guys name now. The Don of Civilization. Good energy.

Later that day I logged back in to C99 and mimi had left a comment when I was at the river, something like "you should go take a walk outside." No kidding. Save my life why not. Now every time I read mimi I think about the dawn of civilization. heh

cheers

@eyo ... in a debate with some friends with teenagers. The basic argument is about hiding their cannabis use and teaching their children cannabis is wrong. It's not wrong, it's illegal. Why? Because the alcohol, tobacco, pharma companies, private prisons and Christianistas have used their $peech to make it so. Funk them!

Here in south central Texas we have had spectacular beautiful weather this past month. Iv'e been spending as much time outside as possible with great appreciation. It has been an unusually fantastic April. I know the blistering heat of summer is just around the corner, but for now...
We also had a few good hard freezes this winter so the chiggers and other critters in the soil have not eaten me alive yet this spring as is the usual case.
Hope everyone here has a bit to be pleased with in their neck of the woods. Thanks for the music compilation NCT and (Janis b).

I finally closed my Amazon account, after 21 years. The worst part is my their books are all gone, dozens of O'Reilly books, tech books and stuff. I lost the dead tree versions in 2013 when I had to move, so the kindle was it. And now the kindle has burned all my books, how symbolic. I love symbolism.

1 Go to the Amazon website. If you're already logged in, doing so will open your Amazon home page.
If you aren't logged into Amazon, hover the cursor over Account & Lists, click Sign in, enter your email address and password, and click Sign in.

2 Make sure you don't have any outstanding orders or transactions. If you're supposed to be shipping or receiving merchandise, you'll need to wait until they've been completed to close your Amazon account.
You can cancel pending orders by clicking Orders near the top-right corner of Amazon's Home page, clicking Open Orders at the top of the page, clicking Cancel items to the right of the order, and clicking Cancel selected items on the far-right side of the screen.

3 Click Help. It's at the bottom-right of the page in the Let Us Help You section.

4 Click Need More Help?.' It's at the bottom of the "Browse Help Topics" section on this page.

5 Click Contact Us. This option is in the top-right side of the "Browse Help Topics" section.

6 Click Prime or Something Else. It's in the top-right corner of the "What can we help you with?" section on the "Contact Us" page.

7 Click
. This box is toward the bottom of the screen, beneath the "Tell us more about your issue" heading. Clicking it will invoke a drop-down menu.

8 Click Account settings. It's near the top of the menu.

9 Click the second
field. It's below the first one. Clicking this box will also prompt a drop-down menu.

10 Click Close my account. Doing so will prompt a third section to appear below this field with the following contact options:

E-mail
Phone
Chat

11 Click a contact option. Depending on the option you choose, your next steps will vary:

E-mail - Type in a reason for deleting your account, then click Send E-mail below the email field.
Phone - Type in your phone number in the spaces provided next to the "Your number" heading, then click Call me now.
Chat - Wait for a customer service representative to come online, then tell them you'd like to close your account.

12 Wait for your account to be deleted. Your account will be closed within the time frame presented to you by the Amazon representative to whom you speak.

I followed the 12 Step program, interacting with a Chat-bot at the end. It was funny, this was its goodbye:

Hope to have you soon on a different account!

Have me? Heh! I think not.

The electric kettle and hot plate thermostat (from Amazon) broke after a year, because cheap crap rules. So I finally replaced them a couple of days ago. Walked to the credit union for cash, walked to the hardware store, filled my cloth sacks, walked home. Free delivery! lol Then I looked up the prices on Amazon for the two items and something is wrong, the Internet broke. "Alexa, send me a hot plate for $124." Wha? NOPE

I think you should be very proud of yourself. Very few people can do what you did. Bezos and Amazon are THE enemy. They are evil. They destroy people by making them addicted while exploiting the individual sellers on their site and the buyers, as well as their employees. It doesn't get more exploitative than them.

There are people here in Germany who fight Amazon. I don't know if they have success with it, but at least you can hear about it in the main stream media.

You are my friend, fighting against Mr. Bezos and Amazon, it's worth it, I think. His empire has to be destroyed.

John was buried in a batman cape. His wife had covered his burying clothes in the closet with it so he wouldn't see it every time he opened the door. When she went to the funeral home he was decked out in his clothes including the cape. The director apologized and offered to remove it. "No, just tuck it underneath him. I think he would like the thought of being buried in the cape."

Can I admit I never have 'inhaled' anything, especially not MARIJUANA. I am the bestest misfit to this site there can be. I think I am totally boring, very principled, prejudiced and may be arrogant in that? I also never drank alcohol other than one glass of beer or wine. Never got drunk.

Because in my former life, the one before internet times and before I discovered the dirty hippies of America, I considered taking drugs as a weakness. I am ashamed of it today, but that's what came out of the way I was raised. If life stinks, you have to fight it heads up and persistently. I guess I just didn't know then how much life can stink. I was a spoiled little brat apparently. And my clueless mind was just so ignorantly arrogant. What a shame.

I just don't understand why I landed here. God must have wanted it that way and taught me a lesson. That God thing up there has its ways...

And btw. NCTim, does Jesus really love you? I don't think you are an asshole, so that part of your signature is already wrong, which means the first part may also be wrong. Well, that's my logic anyway, your logic may vary.
