STUNNING evidence from BBC journalist exposing White Helmets staging chemical attacks in Douma

BBC journalist is confronted after deleting tweet calling chemical attacks in Syria “staged” scenes.

The Army of Islam and the ISIS PR White Helmets, that POTUS Trump is about to provide air cover for in Syria, have been caught staging corpses of dead children in Douma.

A BBC journalist expressed skepticism about an alleged chemical attack in Syria that the Trump White House has, without evidence, blamed on Bashar Assad.

The BBC journalist tweeted that he was tired of “staged” scenes before deleting the post.

We are being lied to. And we’ve known it for a long time. The big question is, what do we do about it? We are running out of time.

if so, you might credit it for it; if you did, i hadn't seen it.

may i add this? i was just about to stick it on my thread: ‘Syria 'chemical attack' staged to provoke US airstrike, London pushed perpetrators – Russian MoD’, via RT today, with text and two videos, one of which is synopsized:

‘In the interviews released to the media, the two men reported how footage was shot of people dousing each other with water and treating children, which was claimed to show the aftermath of the April 7 chemical weapons attack. The patients shown in the video suffered from smoke poisoning and the water was poured on them by their relatives after a false claim that chemical weapons were used, the ministry said.

“Please, notice. These people do not hide their names. These are not some faceless claims on the social media by anonymous activists. They took part in taking that footage,” said ministry spokesman Major-General Igor Konashenkov.'

then more on the white helmet, etc.

Public outrage will stop the march to War.

President Trump does not really want to attack Syria or wage War with Russia. He ended the Hillary-Obama-McCain policy of "regime change" last year, but he is also surrounded by War Hawks who feed to him lies.

So the more this information gets out there, the better chance we will have to avert War.

@FreeSociety Trump did not end the regime change policies, in fact, he is now presiding over another false flag attack in Syria in order to justify throwing more bombs on that country and it's people. He's increased troops in Afghanistan, has greatly increased the military budget, is threatening Russia and China, and overseeing genocide in Yemen along with his friends from Saudi Arabia, has increased the air and drone war in Somalia, changing the rules of military engagement to kill more civilians; and he is overseeing a regime change effort in Venezuela and increasing aid and assistance to the Nazis in Ukraine. There have been more than 10,000 coalition airstrikes in Syria and Iraq since Trump became president and there has been a significant increase of special forces deployment now in over 150 countries. He's supporting Israeli apartheid and is a full blown liar for the war OF terror, who is also going to trash the Iran nuclear deal to start a war with Iran. U.S. troops and deaths in war zones have increased. He's committed war crime after war crime with his latest being threats of nuclear war against Russia, North Korea and another illegal attack on Syria. The entire world fears what Trump will do and there's a reason for that, he's fucking crazy. He just lied his ass off in front of the world claiming Assad was an animal for chem weaponing his own people, which we know was a false flag, using the same old fucking lies they all use to try to justify war.

And he just hired John Bolton as NSI and Pompeo as his SOS, which certainly indicates an attempt at regime change in Iran, how do you explain that one? "They" made him hired a rabid fascist warmongers? Not to mention the torture lady at the CIA.

This information is important to disseminate, but your assertions about Trump are way off base. And yes, I told the Obama and Bush worshippers the same things. This isn't a "Hillary/obama/McCain policy of regime change, as this article points out, it's the official government and ruling class policy of Amerika, Trump the liar is just continuing it.

to go against the special interests that control the real government. These special interests managed to take full control starting with Clinton. Under Bush they managed to grab a hold of the levers of power. Obama was hired to disguise and discretely enable the full transition. The crowning of Her Heinous would have resulted in a seamless blending/bonding of the Deep State with the Executive, once and for all.

The Trumpeter never understood how American politics works. But, they are schooling him as we speak. After they take him behind the woodshed a few more times he will become more amenable to their desires and start to act like a proper puppet. Unlike Obomba and Killary, he was independently wealthy and couldn't be bought. He was mostly in it for the executive power he so much enjoys in his life. Must be a rude awaking for him.

The internecine warfare between the executive, intelligence agencies, military and DOJ his election has created is going to be interesting to watch as it will come to a head before the next midterm elections.

@CB The capitalists have always had control of the government and they always will because 'Muricans don't have the balls for real revolution. The closest we ever came to that was just after the Great Depression when unions and real left-wing movements had real power. FDR saw the writing on the wall and placated the workers with The New Deal even when his fellow bourgeoisie tried to have him assassinated.

There was another chance with Vietnam but then COINTELPRO happened. Then what was left of the labor and anti-war movements were destroyed when the Republicans infiltrated the Democratic Party during the Reagan 'Revolution' and the union leaders became full-on pig workers and the working class became little more than fascist drones in order to prop up capitalism in decay.

But let's just keep validating right-wing bullshit like 'The Deep State' or 'The Jews'. That's sure to win against the fuckers. /s

It is the entirety of the unelected people within MIC plus the Federal intelligence and policing agencies that maintain their positions of power and control within the US government, despite elections for the House, Senate and Executive.

As far as the "Jews" are concerned, do you think the US would be as involved in the Middle East if it wasn't for the power of AIPAC (formerly known as the American Zionist Committee for Public Affairs) over government decision making? Do you think that a prospective US president could get elected without first getting approval after an in-depth AIPAC interview?

@CB No right-wing tropes needed. Doesn't matter whether the fundamentalist bent the capitalists happen to hang over the peasants is Jewish, like with Israel, or Islamic via the Saudis or Seven Mountain Christian Dominionism like the United States.

And besides, AIPAC is really no different from the NRA, the Koch Bros, George Soros, Silicon Valley or any other group of rich assholes lobbying the Empire for their piece of whatever carcass the capitalists decide to carve up next while placating the masses with bread and circuses. You don't need right-wing oversimplified right-wing tropes like 'The Deep State' to understand that.

the Deep State goes much, much deeper than individual corporations.

Mike Lofgren explains in detail what the "Deep State" is.

Mike Lofgren, a congressional staff member for 28 years, joins Bill Moyers to talk about what he calls Washington's "Deep State," in which elected and unelected figures collude to protect and serve powerful vested interests. "It is how we had deregulation, financialization of the economy, the Wall Street bust, the erosion or our civil liberties and perpetual war," Lofgren tells Moyers.

Behind the 'anti-Communism' actually covering anything and anyone with the ability or inclination to interfere with their free-form profiteering and intended ultimate totalitarian control, behind the spy agencies and the Gladios and later other and more public terrorist networks intended to destabilize societies and countries and to terrorize people in countries around the world into becoming eager to relinquish rights for 'security', for corporate-controlled government acting against the public interest, with everything designed to crush 'the left' (meaning anyone considering the public interest important) for the whole unholy ball of greed-rolled dung ruining things around the world for the past century?

Get rid of that top fraction of the global 1% - especially including the ones we never, or almost never, hear of - and you've got rid of the head of the monstrosity and have only to eliminate the tentacles now embedded virtually everywhere, as with the pathologizing effects of the propaganda.

Easier said than done, of course, lol. But they'd be the Mafia heads that need to be gotten rolling unto that metaphorical basket.

(Note: I don't actually believe in capital punishment, let alone lynchings; all of those involved need to be charged and tried for crimes somewhere justice is actually possible and where they can't get 'get out of jail for a price' cards. I do believe in unicorn dreams, though; if nothing else, they're cheering.)

The problem is that there really are groups behind the scenes, some of which we know some things about, and since there's so much we don't know, and so many self-interested and destructive organizations springing out of the root of the evil, a handy label is needed to cover the lot of them, if only for short-hand. 'Deep State' is at least understandable to a lot of us.

@The Aspie Corner is the problem and at the end of the day that's what the Deep State actors are, capitalists in that they're there to protect the capitalist state at all costs. They are real, and as Mike Lofgren's book on it that CB referred to basically states, it's not a conspiracy but an evolution. To me, that description fits perfectly. They just all go along to get along in capitalist nirvana. The Deep State wording just fits them so perfectly because their tentacles are everywhere and they are deep and mostly hidden. And they're sick greedy people who think nothing of killing to gain more power and wealth. And they seem to intermarry very well, that's where their psychopathy reproduces itself and branches out, IMHO.

President Trump did announce back in the spring of 2017, that there would be no "Regime Change" (The Clinton-McCain-White Helmets-Obama) policy anymore. And it was right after that that a "chemical attack" was fabricated (by the CIA, White Helmets) to disrupt the situation, and trick Trump into having to take Military action against the falsely accused Assad.

But Trump responded to the "crisis" not with "Regime Change" or a new War (which the Neocons wanted) -- he responded just with a (symbolic) bomb strike against the Syrian airbase, where he gave Russia and Syria advanced notice first so that casualities would be minimized.

And now just two weeks ago, Trump announced publicly that the Troops in Syria would be coming home soon, and that we did not need a permanent military presence there. Once again, the Neocon dreams of "Regime Change" were pushed away and rejected by Trump. Trump wanted the Military out of there.

And...naturally, once again, this new staged "Chemical attack" occurs right after that on cue to try to trick Trump, and force his hand back into War with Syria and Russia.

---

Read this Link: Trump wants out of Syria

--

It's been over 72-hours now since the big collective panic about Syria. Obviously, Trump is disappointing the Neocons yet again by taking his time and not just rushing off immediately into direct Warfare with Syria. But the pressure around him is very high.

This is very reminiscent of the War Hawks and intense pressure surrounding President John Kennedy in the 1960s. Kennedy briefly gave in with the "The Bay of Pigs", but he did not repeat his mistake. He fired the top CIA architects (Allen Dulles, Charles Cabell, Dick Bissell), and then had the FBI raid the CIA training camps that were subverting and sabotaging his policies. He refused to Bomb Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis provocation. Kennedy was regarded as "weak" and a Russian-communist sympathizer or Russian puppet by the War Hawks of that period.

Sound familiar?

Trump did change the policy and that is self evident (Assad is not only still in power a whole 1.5 years later, but Assad has largely defeated the earlier U.S-ISIS grip on his Country and stablized the situation there).

But the challenge now is can Trump stay the course on that policy change?, or will the subversion and pressure around him created by the "false flag" Chemical attacks trick him into to doing something stupid?

We all know what the reckless Hillary Clinton would have done.

Trump has not been following that script. Let's hope this continues (despite the pressure otherwise).

I sincerely doubt the Trumpeter really knows what a neocon is. Neocons wrote President Donald J. Trump Announces a National Security Strategy to Advance America’s Interests

Neoconning the Trump White House

Washington's well-funded web of interventionist elites is quietly populating the president's national security circle, again.

Over the last year critics have warned of the returning neoconservative influence on the executive branch’s national security apparatus, each day a little less confident that President Donald Trump will keep to the seeming anti-interventionist impulses he demonstrated during the 2016 campaign.

News flash: We’re already there.
...
You know the “right” kind of operator has arrived in the White House when establishment commentariat like Ricks and Josh Rogin get all gushy about their calming, “soft power” influence over Trump, which sounds like a lot of bunk when you consider their well-documented points of view.

Simply put, after years of cross-pollination brought on by a slush fund of wealthy private donors like Smith Richardson and an even more eager defense industry, neoconservative views are no longer distinguishable from the sanctioned goals of the Washington policy establishment. They are all working, really, as proper stewards of the military-industrial complex, which is essential for advancing their (sometimes competing) visions of world power politics and American exceptionalism. There is little room for realism and restraint, as voiced by this magazine and other critics.

@Meteor Man want war with Russia; they want all of Russia's oil (and anything else they can get their hands on).

They want the entire world completely controlled by the US (or really, by them through the US). They do not want any country to have self-determination if it goes against whatever the neocons want.

What I described above is not Trump's idea of good policy - so the neocons have been frothing at the mouth since he took office.

"A short time ago I ordered the United States armed forces to launch precision strikes on targets associated with the chemical weapons capabilities of Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad. A combined operation with the armed forces of France and the United Kingdom is now underway. We thank them both.
Tonight, I want to speak with you about why we have taken this action. One year ago, Assad launched a savage chemical weapons attack against his own innocent people. [LIE] The United States responded with 58 missile strikes that destroyed 20 percent of the Syrian air force. [This statement is bizarre, LIE]
Last Saturday the Assad regime again deployed chemical weapons to slaughter innocent civilians near the town of Douma [LIE] near Syrian capitol of Damascus. It was a pattern of chemical weapons use by that very terrible regime. The evil and despicable attack left mothers and fathers, infants and children thrashing in pain and gasping for air. These are not the actions of a man. They are crimes of a monster instead."

I suppose you have all sorts of excuses for these war crimes and the fucking lies. True believers are like that.

@Big Al strikes, however, I do support the way that they were conducted, assuming what I heard is true.

It was reported that Trump chose the three sites specifically to damage storage and production of chemical weapons. It was reported that the activity was done in a manner to not harm the Russians or innocents (and US people). It was reported that the US did not take out the Syrian airforce because it wanted to leave enough power to oppose rebel actions. If the Syrian military was destroyed, then the reasoning was that civil war would start again.

I don't know if the above is true. If it is, then I have a hard time believing that Trump is as promiscuous with the military as HRC would have been, considering she wanted to control Syrian airspace and overthrow Assad upon assuming the presidency.

US-led Syria strikes: West trashes international law in favor of ‘might is right’
Robert Bridge
Robert Bridge is an American writer and journalist. He is author of the book, 'Midnight in the American Empire,' released in 2013.

Published time: 14 Apr, 2018 17:23
Edited time: 14 Apr, 2018 19:27

Once again, Western nations have ganged up on a sovereign state, first accusing it of crimes without evidence before following up with a brazen attack. The reason for such behavior is diabolically simple: because they can.

On Saturday morning, the world awoke to the news that the US, the UK and France had followed through on their threat to punish President Bashar Assad for his alleged use of chemical weapons against innocent people. These NATO states unleashed a massive missile strike near Homs and the capital Damascus with the stated purpose of destroying sites said to be connected to the production of chemical weapons. If the attack was intended for domestic consumption only, in typical ‘wag the dog’ fashion, it failed miserably on that score.

Russian President Vladimir Putin slammed the military assault, saying it had not been sanctioned by the UN Security Council, and was carried out “in violation of the UN Charter and principles of international law.”

That was just the beginning of the serious legal issues regarding this brazen, cowardly attack on a sovereign nation. Not only did the Americans, British and French flaunt international law, exactly as they had done seven years ago in Libya, they arrogantly ignored the democratic will of their respective constituents, bypassing congressional and parliamentary procedure in a mad rush to war. In fact, the only thing ‘transparent’ and ‘accountable’ about Saturday’s attack was the flimsy foundation upon which it was advertised. ...

...This brings us to the really disturbing part about Saturday’s attack: had Team Trump shown some restraint for just a few more days, they would have been able to make a much more accurate and measured assessment as to what really happened in the Damascus suburb one week ago. That’s because a team of experts from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), was scheduled to arrive in Syria on April 14 - the very same day the NATO members launched their assault - to carry out an investigation of the alleged chemical attack.

In other words, Trump, May and Macron could actually be charged with ‘tampering’ with a crime scene and destroying the evidence before investigators can carry out their forensic work.

"It's most probably an attempt to create difficulties for the OPCW mission that is just starting its work… or even to thwart it," the chair of Russia's Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federation Council, Konstantin Kosachev, said.

This rush to war brings to mind the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003. With UN weapon inspectors on the ground in the country, reporting no trace of weapons of mass destruction, then Secretary of State Colin Powell saved the day by giving a performance worthy of an Academy Award at the UN General Assembly. As attendees stared on in wide-eyed disbelief, Powell shook a vial of ‘anthrax,’ inviting his audience to imagine what would happen if Saddam Hussein decided to unleash the deadly bacteria against their people. Only after the disastrous Iraq War was well underway did the Western mainstream media think to question the ‘bad intelligence’ and blatant deception that permitted the US and its allies to undertake the cruelest, most opportunistic attack on innocent people in recent memory.

The very same could be said about the disastrous NATO-backed regime change in Libya in 2011. In both cases, relatively stable and prosperous countries were turned into hotbeds of terrorism, violence and crime. In fact, the world would most likely never have heard of the terrorist organization ‘Islamic State’ had the West stayed out of Iraq. And here is the sick irony of the West attacking Syrian government forces: it could open the door to bona-fide terrorists coming to power in the event Damascus falls. Indeed, the US has made no secret that its goal is to remove Assad from power, yet – exactly as was the case with Iraq and Libya – they offer no realistic alternatives to his rule aside from ‘moderate rebels.’

Another irony from yesterday’s brazen attack: Trump used the phrase “mission accomplished” to describe the assault, like it was just another day at the golf course. The remark echoed former US President George W Bush’s premature speech on board the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier in 2003 when he declared the end of combat operations in Iraq in front of a banner declaring “Mission Accomplished.” Yet in reality that was just the beginning of the nightmare for Iraq. ...

... Soon after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the United States began to indulge itself in increasingly belligerent behavior across a wider and wider swath of the planet. The juggernaut was made all the more harrowing by America’s almost fanatical belief that it is the one and only ‘indispensable nation’ blessed by some higher authority with ‘exceptional’ qualities that are beyond question. This was America’s ‘unipolar moment.’

That open window of militaristic opportunity was applauded by neoconservatives, including Charles Krauthammer, who penned a 1990 article in Foreign Affairs (‘The Unipolar Moment’) where he boldly states: “The immediate post-Cold War world is not multipolar. It is unipolar. The center of world power is the unchallenged superpower, the United States, attended by its Western allies.”

This is pure unadulterated Machiavellian thinking, which substitutes liberty and equality before the law with a medieval ‘might is right’ philosophy. Yet, as has been proven time and again throughout history, whenever any single country sits astride the pinnacle of power, it is invariably proven, in the words of British politician Lord Acton that, “power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.”

This tendency towards the abuse of power was highlighted by a shocking comment made by General Wesley Clark during an interview with Democracy Now. Clark revealed that he had been shown a memo by one of his military superiors that outlined a classified plan to take out seven countries in a five-year period.

“This is a memo that describes how we’re going to take out seven countries in five years, starting with Iraq, and then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and, finishing off, Iran,” Wesley said, repeating what he had been told and shown. ...

... Whatever the case may be, it has become beyond clear that the West holds the claim to the title ‘protector of democratic principles’ only by the force of its lies, deception and outright aggression. How long it will be before the charade ends and the people openly proclaim that the emperor has no clothes is anybody’s guess.

Putin: History pinned blame on US for ‘bloody carnage’ in Yugoslavia & Iraq, same will be with Syria
Published time: 14 Apr, 2018 17:04

History will set things straight on Syria for the US, which is already responsible for a chain of “bloody carnage” in other countries, Russian President Vladimir Putin said following the US-led attack on the country.

“History will set things right, and Washington already bears the heavy responsibility for the bloody carnage in Yugoslavia, Iraq and Libya,” Putin said in a statement. His disdain was triggered by the overnight attack on Syria launched by the US and its allies, who cited an alleged chemical incident in the town of Douma as a pretext. ...

... The attack came shortly before the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) experts were set to begin their fact-finding mission in Douma. The OPCW mission was disregarded, however, and “in a sign of cynical disdain, a group of Western countries decided to take military action without waiting for the results of the investigation,” Putin said.

Despite the attack, the chemical watchdog’s experts are set to begin their work in Syria, to determine the circumstances of the alleged chemical incident, reported last Saturday. Pro-militant sources, including the controversial White Helmets group, claimed that a chlorine-filled munition was deployed by government troops, killing and injuring dozens of civilians.

The area that allegedly came under attack has since been surrendered by the militants. The site was explored by Russian military specialists, who found no signs of chemical weapons use, victims of the purported incident or even locals, who heard about the “attack.”

Which includes soil samples which tested negative, as was also mentioned in a tweet from Vanessa Beeley, who was on the ground there following the Syrian Army rescue, and verifies that nobody in Eastern Ghouta sought treatment from a chemical attack - which would have been noticed, if only by the hospital staff.

We swim in a sea of propaganda, flooding from those who seek to swamp us, and must be very careful about what we swallow of what some wish to force into our minds and mouths.

They lie like the doormats they wish to make us become.

The OPCW said in its report, issued earlier in the week, that a toxic chemical of high purity was used in the attack.

"OPCW data saying that a toxic chemical of high purity was used proves that it was not Novichok…. Novichok is a complex nerve-paralyzing substance consisting of a mixture of many different components and additives that decompose in different ways. If a pure substance was found, it could not be Novichok," Rink said.

He noted that if it was Novichok, the OPCW would have found different components that disintegrate into non-toxic components over time, and thus they would not be able to make statements on the chemical’s toxicity.

The expert also stressed that if pure Novichok was indeed present in the substance found on the handle of the front door of Skripal's home, Sergei and Yulia would have died right on the spot after exposure to the chemical.

Furthermore, Rink said that the OPCW report contradicted the words of Vil Mirzayanov, who referred to himself as one of the creators of the Novichok-class nerve agents. Mirzayanov said that the toxin did not kill Skripals since the substance is vulnerable to humidity, and there was fog in the United Kingdom on March 4, the day of the poisoning attack on Skripals.

"This is a fair remark, because the Novichok is a very unstable substance, which depends on [exposure to] water, on alkalis, on everything. But then the experts would have found the products of hydrolysis, and certainly not a pure substance," Rink emphasized. ...

... Moreover, the fact that no one has seen Skripals in person after the attack indicated that allegations of exposure to Novichok were false, he said. Rink added that Novichok affects the victim's eyes, but the UK authorities had never mentioned such a symptom in any of their statements on condition of Skripals. ...

Lavrov: Swiss lab says ‘BZ toxin’ used in Salisbury, not produced in Russia, was in US & UK service
Published time: 14 Apr, 2018 14:37
Edited time: 14 Apr, 2018 18:05

The substance used on Sergei Skripal was an agent called BZ, according to Swiss state Spiez lab, the Russian foreign minister said. The toxin was never produced in Russia, but was in service in the US, UK, and other NATO states.

Sergei Skripal, a former Russian double agent, and his daughter Yulia were poisoned with an incapacitating toxin known as 3-Quinuclidinyl benzilate or BZ, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, citing the results of the examination conducted by a Swiss chemical lab that worked with the samples that London handed over to the Organisation for the Prohibition of the Chemical Weapons (OPCW).

The Swiss center sent the results to the OPCW. However, the UN chemical watchdog limited itself only to confirming the formula of the substance used to poison the Skripals in its final report without mentioning anything about the other facts presented in the Swiss document, the Russian foreign minister added. He went on to say that Moscow would ask the OPCW about its decision to not include any other information provided by the Swiss in its report.

Lavrov said that the Swiss center that assessed the samples is actually the Spiez Laboratory. This facility is a Swiss state research center controlled by the Swiss Federal Office for Civil Protection and, ultimately, by the country’s defense minister. The lab is also an internationally recognized center of excellence in the field of the nuclear, biological, and chemical protection and is one of the five centers permanently authorized by the OPCW.

The Russian foreign minister said that London refused to answer dozens of “very specific” questions asked by Moscow about the Salisbury case, as well as to provide any substantial evidence that could shed light on the incident. Instead, the UK accused Russia of failing to answer its own questions, he said, adding that, in fact, London did not ask any questions but wanted Moscow to admit that it was responsible for the delivery of the chemical agent to the UK.

The scandal erupted in early March, when former double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were found in critical condition in the town of Salisbury. Top UK officials almost immediately pinned the blame on Russia.

Moscow believes that the entire Skripal case lacks transparency and that the UK is in fact not interested in an independent inquiry. "We get the impression that the British government is deliberately pursuing the policy of destroying all possible evidence, classifying all remaining materials and making a transparent investigation impossible," the Russian ambassador to the UK, Alexander Yakovenko, said during a press conference on Friday.

The destruction of evidence having been made particularly obvious...

CIA Flashback: “We’ll Know Our Disinformation Program Is Complete When Everything the American Public Believes Is False.

William Casey, CIA Director 1981-1987

“We’ll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false.”

(Truthstream Media) That creepy quote above has been widely attributed to Former CIA Director William Casey.

Casey was the 13th CIA Director from 1981 until he left in January 1987. ...

... This is a new trend lately, people trying to debunk old (and most especially, establishment damaging) quotes.

This time, however, someone who claims to have been there when Casey said it showed up to validate the quote:

[readolog_blockquote ]”I am the source for this quote, which was indeed said by CIA Director William Casey at an early February 1981 meeting of the newly elected President Reagan with his new cabinet secretaries to report to him on what they had learned about their agencies in the first couple of weeks of the administration. The meeting was in the Roosevelt Room in the West Wing of the White House, not far from the Cabinet Room. I was present at the meeting as Assistant to the chief domestic policy adviser to the President. Casey first told Reagan that he had been astonished to discover that over 80 percent of the ‘intelligence’ that the analysis side of the CIA produced was based on open public sources like newspapers and magazines. As he did to all the other secretaries of their departments and agencies, Reagan asked what he saw as his goal as director for the CIA, to which he replied with this quote, which I recorded in my notes of the meeting as he said it. Shortly thereafter I told Senior White House correspondent Sarah McClendon, who was a close friend and colleague, who in turn made it public.”
Barbara Honegger
[/readolog_blockquote]

Not only does Honegger claim he said it, but apparently he said it in response to what he saw as his goal as CIA Director!

This statement was further backed by an email posted by Quora user Greg Smith from Honegger regarding the quote which is consistent and apparently prompted her to tell the story above:

“Seriously — I personally was the Source for that William Casey quote. He said it at an early Feb. 1981 meeting in the Roosevelt Room in the West Wing of the White House which I attended, and I immediately told my close friend and political godmother Senior White House Correspondent Sarah McClendon, who then went public with it without naming the source… “

So there you go. Guess it boils down to he said she said, except when she says it, it’s because she was actually there…

The year 1981 was an interesting one for Director Casey. He just so happened to be under investigation and fighting to keep his new job over various seedy dealings that came to light; among them were claims he approved a plan to overthrow Libya’s Moammar Qaddafi to instill a shadow government. (Oh I know, our government would never do that, would they?)

The agency’s plan, according to an article in the July 27, 1981 Gettysburg Times, involved toppling Qaddafi via what else?

Disinfo:

CIAplot-The_Gettysburg_Times_Mon__Jul_27__1981
“Newsweek Magazine reported the covert operation was designed to overthrow Khadafy through a ‘disinformation’ campaign to embarrass him, creation of a counter government to challenge his leadership and a paramilitary campaign.”

(Wow. A lot of that sounds eerily familiar… 2011, anyone?)

That same year, investigative journalist Jack Anderson published this piece in the September 22, 1981 Santa Cruz Sentinel discussing the troubling CIA disinformation campaign being waged against Americans:

misleadingtactics-SantaCruzSentinel22Sept1981

Anderson points out the CIA’s “triple assault on the public’s right to know” included 1) trying to shut off channels of information to the electorate, 2) seeking criminal penalties against reporters whose stories might identify CIA operatives, and the third which Anderson called most troubling, 3) spreading “disinformation” to news agencies.

And who else does Anderson specifically call out in this disinfo campaign but new CIA Director William Casey:

[readolog_blockquote]”Now along comes Bill Casey, the dodering CIA director, with the argument that the government has the right to mislead the public by planting phony stories in the press.”[/readolog_blockquote]

Oh really? So the good director not only talked about his disinformation campaign but actually argued for the government’s right to wage it against the American people? ...

Now, it's apparently a government policy.

This isn't a "Hillary/obama/McCain policy of regime change, as this article points out, it's the official government and ruling class policy of Amerika, Trump the liar is just continuing it.

I would just substitute "Trump Administration" for Trump. The devil is in the details that Trump has no understanding of. His judicial and administrative picks are fed to him and Trump just signs off on them. Trump gets his policy decisions from Fox News. I do not believe Trump knows or cares about the consequences of his decisions.

that Trump gets his policy decisions from Fox.

Hopefully, Trump will have watched the following where Carlson speaks to Stephen Cohen on the dangers of bombing in Syria.

Will U.S. action in Syria lead to conflict with Russia?

He is now being accused of being a "Putin propagandizer" by the liberal press. He has a very large following and his anti-war posts are reaching hundreds of thousands. I'll take what I get from either quarter.

Unfortunately, Fox and Friends is more to Trumps mental (in)capabilities.

How the ‘dumbest news show’ on TV influences the White House

Fox & Friends has spent years being a fever swamp of conspiracy theories, right-wing propaganda, smear campaigns, and general absurdity. Now, it's President Trump's favorite show, with the power to hijack the news cycle for days at a time.

@CB at least not on the nightly lineup. Laura Ingraham was also asking the same questions. One of her regulars, Dr. Gorka, was just frothing at the mouth last night, saying that the US was obligated to attack because of the heinous-ness of the use of gas. He said we don't have a democracy anymore if we aren't willing to protect people from such attacks (newsflash - we aren't a democracy or republic anymore) and cited the US Constitution. LI gave it right back, saying she could quote any number of people, including founding fathers, that warned against foreign entanglements, and she listed off numerous horrible situations (massacres, the kidnapping of those girls) where the US did not intervene.

It made my liberal heart happy to hear this from a conservative.

And delighted that Carlson had him on. His observation that the U.S. has been waging diplomatic, political and economic war against Russia is correct. I do not think his qualifier that it was "a Russian belief, right or wrong" was necessary.

I would be far more optimistic about our chances of avoiding a Syrian/Russian conflict if Trump had chosen Pat Buchanan instead of John Bolton.

Savage, Buchanan Oppose Syria Strike

Michael Savage's interview with Pat Buchanan on Wednesday revealed the radio talk show host and his guest both flat out oppose a U.S. military strike against Syria and they think President Donald Trump made a mistake by threatening Russia earlier this week.

Before and while welcoming Buchanan to his show "The Savage Nation," Savage made his opposition to military action clear and said Trump’s recent tweets showed “the war mongers have grabbed the steering wheel of this administration.”

Some conservatives seem to have avoided drinking the koolaide.

He does possess a certain crude cunning that serves him in good stead at times, but his mental processes barely go beyond the transaction at hand. His ignorance does give him a certain independence of outlook, in some instances, that allows him to see through the fallacies of conventional wisdom and form refreshingly reasonable ideas. However, his thought process is so incoherent that these moments of sanity are soon overtaken by emotion-driven drivel. Add to that the fact that he is increasingly surrounding himself with some of the worst possible advisors, and the transactional nature of his reasoning process (admittedly reasoning process is a stretch) means that face to face discussions are hugely important, and we have a very dangerous situation.

@Roy Blakeley pulling out of Syria was more manipulation of his base than anything he really wanted to do. I don't think he really CARES at all what happens as long as he looks good doing it. And I'd bet for certain that our owners have indeed had a little talk with him about his "irresponsible" rhetoric about pulling out of Syria - they'll ask him if he really wants to be the POTUS that allowed US Dollar sovereignty over the whole world to be lost. That one little factoid right there will in no uncertain terms make him "see the light" for just what he needs to do as that will effect HIM as well, not just "them" and not just "us" but his own bottom line. He's not going to allow that to happen whether he "wants" to go to war or not.

We Have Evidence of UK's Role in Staging Douma Provocation - Russian MoD

The Russian Defense Ministry held a press briefing on what the Western narrative describes as an alleged chemical attack in Syria's Eastern Ghouta. No evidence has been presented to support the claim. A Russian chemical corps commission that has been sent to Douma reported that no traces of chemical poisoning were found. On April 12, the US defense secretary acknowledged that the Pentagon had no evidence of chlorine or sarin use in Douma.
...
Konashenkov said that direct participants of the process to film a video clip about the "consequences of a chemical attack" in Syria's Duma said the video was staged.

"We managed to find direct participants in the shooting of this video and interview them. Today we are presenting a live interview of these people. Duma residents in detail told us how the filming was conducted, in what episodes they took part themselves and what they did," Konashenkov said.

The Russian military could see that these were the very people from the video. According to Konashenkov, these were two medics working in a local hospital in the emergency department. They said that people in the hospital had no signs of poisoning with toxic agents.

"During the provision of first aid, unknown people ran into the hospital, some of them with video cameras, who started screaming, panicking and pouring everyone with water from hoses, shouting that everyone was poisoned with toxic agents. Patients… and their relatives in panic began to pour water on each other," the ministry spokesman said.

He said that after the filming, the unknown people disappeared fast.

I'm being called one just because I'm questioning why Assad would gas his people just after he was getting control of E. Ghouta. Anyone who believes the Russian story that no one was gassed is being called that. This and of course Conspiracy Theorists.

I would think that after there were no WMDs found in Iraq that people would at least question whether they're being punked again. But no. Anyone who says that Mattis admitted that Assad didn't gas his people last year are getting flagged on DK. Anyone who questions the attack at all are told to leave the diaries. Long time respected members have gone to the dark side and I'm afraid that they aren't coming back. The push to punish Syria is strong on so many sites that were once against war.
Funny how people are taking the word of the terrorists these days, isn't it?

using chemical weapons and then he did it anyway? Did that warning just come out of the blue because it was a setup to bomb Syria after someone did it anyway? Why yes, I think that could have been the script.

Herding cats would certainly be easier to do than get people to open their eyes about what's going on. Whenever someone tells me that we have to bomb Assad because of this false flag, I bring up the children in Yemen. I usually get a "well of course we should be doing something for them too."
Then it's back to Syria. Dawgs on a bone.

Mad Dog has probably pointed out to Trump that if we kill Russians they will shoot back. So if Trump shoots missiles & they sink a destroyer where do we go next?
The obvious "solution" is to stall for time until the independent observers arrive & and the whole false flag event is unmasked. I seems like that's Mattis' advice & Trump is following it.
Maybe a rogue Fox commentator & and a retired General will bail us out of this mess yet. (Like when Putin saved Obama's ass the last time.)
