Senate Will Vote On Abortion Ban
I do not believe that just because you're opposed to abortion, that that makes you pro-life. In fact, I think in many cases, your morality is deeply lacking if all you want is a child born but not a child fed, not a child educated, not a child housed. And why would I think that you don't? Because you don't want any tax money to go there. That's not pro-life. That's pro-birth. We need a much broader conversation on what the morality of pro-life is.
And some medical reasons for late term abortions:

And anencephaly:
In almost all cases, anencephalic infants are not aggressively resuscitated because there is no chance of the infant's ever achieving a conscious existence. Instead, the usual clinical practice is to offer hydration, nutrition, and comfort measures and to "let nature take its course". Artificial ventilation, surgery (to fix any co-existing congenital defects), and drug therapy (such as antibiotics) are usually regarded as futile efforts. Some clinicians and medical ethicists view even the provision of nutrition and hydration as medically futile.[

[The link also includes several examples of the short life span of several enencephalic "miracle babies" who survived for a couple of years.]
Here's an interesting poll result that has been obscured:
Nearly 99 percent of abortions occur before 21 weeks, but when they are needed later in pregnancy, it’s often in very complex circumstances. For example, severe fetal anomalies and serious risks to the woman’s health — the kind of situations where a woman and her doctor need every medical option available.
20-week bans are also highly unpopular throughout the country. 61% of all voters say abortion should be legal after 20 weeks. Plus, Democrats (78%), Republicans (62%), and Independents (71%) say this is the wrong issue for lawmakers to be spending time on.

This vote had passed the House and a Senate vote is expected today. Crickets from pro-choice Dems or other pro-women groups in 2018. Here's what popped up from a Bing search:
For some odd reason I couldn't copy the text, but the Newsweek opinion article praised the support of Senator Joe Manchin, Sen. Joe Donnelly and Sen. Bob Casey:
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/the-us-must-ban-abortions-after-20-wee...
An editorial at The L.A. Times:
The GOP is craven and the Democrats are extremist on an abortion restriction most Americans favor
Only eight years ago, a quarter of the Democratic House caucus bucked pro-choice party leadership and voted for a pro-life amendment to Obamacare. The amendment spelled out that government-supported health insurance could not be used for abortions. But in the 2010 midterm backlash, Republicans and anti-abortion activists worked overtime to defeat even pro-life Democrats, paving the way for abortion extremists to dominate the party.

Maybe the Democratic leadership will oppose this vile piece of legislation. Can anybody here find some articles I missed about any Democrats who have taken a position on this upcoming vote?

I sure wish my great grandmother
and others of her era were still around to teach the young women of today on just how to use that coat hanger she most likely used when told to "get rid of" her fifth pregnancy. And the waste of resources and time on this, once again? Why, that's no big deal in Murka, waste away and dig as deep into someone else's business as you can. The Repugnant Way.

coat hanger
I certainly hope that's snark.
What coat-hanger abortions are best known for is "getting rid of" the pregnant woman via infections and/or cancer.
There's a reason the American demand for legal abortion is phrased: "Keep abortion safe and legal!" -- and that the word safe is there first!
My disgust with the compulsory birth crowd grows every day. And were I the God of the Christians, I'd be having a very unhappy talk with Giovanni Batista Montini (Pope Paul VI) right about now, too. If anything ends up destroying the Catholic Church, it will be Humanae Vitae.

It was indeed snark.

thank you, lizzyh7!
Thank you! You had me worried there for a moment!
As for the compulsory birth squads: I can't think of an expression foul enough for them!!

I honestly believe that they think
that if they sabotage enough real people and lose enough elections that we will be forced to vote for corruptocrats.
As for the idea that they don't want tax money to go to unwanted children, that's a rationalization. What they really want is to control people through unwanted pregnancies. (even the threat of an unwanted pregnancy)
On to Biden since 1973

It is only a dangerous argument if the Pro Choice position is ignored.

Forced birthers.
That's all they are. They are absolutely not interested in the child once it is born and actually needs something independent of it's host. I hate these people.

Abortion Vote Update
Quietly, U.S. Senate plans vote on 20-week abortion ban [Quietly? Because Democrats are caving?]
A procedural vote? I guess there must be differences between Senator Graham's version and the House version. Probably the "exceptions" for rape and incest, but not for a woman's health.

Forced birthers is the correct term
The 40 years assaults on social programs is proof of that.
Again the democrats are AWOL. Where's the voice of the greatest defender of women and children?

Her was all in on a ban on late term abortions.
How About Prenatal Care
Oh yeah, Medicare For All? Third World infant mortality rates are no problem, amirite? Yeah, Forced Birthers is a more accurate description. I sure would love to hear any Democrat introduce that term on the floor of Congress. I remember hearing Randi Rhodes say something like "They love the fetus and hate the child."

Thanks for this info
I did not know that. Why indeed did PP endorse her? I can guess though...
The messages have been teed up for the democrats for decades, but they rarely step up to the plate to hit them. This is so obvious that I can't understand why others don't see it. They let the republicans spout whatever nonsense they want unchallenged. Remember death panels that went on all summer without one person trying to inform the citizenry what they actually do?
"They are going to kill granma..."

Insurance Companies Are Death Panels
Yeah, and I remember this counterargument that not a single Democrat uttered. Insurance companies are economic free riders who charge customers monthly fees for the right to have legitimate claims denied.
