I Will Ask One More God Damned Time: What Fucking Left?

You know, I'm getting fucking tired of the average internet pleb whining about 'the left' or 'pc sjws' hating free speech when such a thing has never existed at any point in Fundie'Murican history.

The only people who ever had freedom were rich, white slave and land owners and not a whole lot has changed since the founding days...except for the fact that some of the slaves were allowed to rise up to the status of Porky for the sole purpose of the preservation of Fundie'Murican Christofascist Capitalism.

Others who stood up to the Capitalist Porkies were assassinated or compromised. And after that, they were twisted into the defense of the very Capitalist system they challenged.

This is just one of many reasons I respect neither the McResistance nor the 'Alt'-Right. Neither stand up for anything meaningful and never will. One group just wants to preserve the shitty system as it is without Drumpfkopf in charge of it, and the other group wants to drag us back to the 1500s kicking and screaming, except with an atheist, 'Culturally Christian' flavor to it.

Maybe we should just let both stupid groups kill each other and let The Force sort it out. After all, we have no voice. We have no resources. No infrastructure to deliver any meaningful transformative message or any other way to stop the Porkies from manipulating the plebs into killing each other over stupid, meaningless shit.

Maybe I sould cynical or downright hateful, but comment sections in videos such as this one give me no hope for the future. We're fucked no matter which group 'wins'.

to the brain with the election of Bill Clinton. Unfortunately for the poor victim, it didn’t die right away. It lingered in a coma until 2016 and then it finally passed into the great beyond.

What you see now are just opportunists trying to strip us of out rights and personal assets while they commence ginning up wars that they expect us and our children to fight for their benefactor’s benefit..

There hasn’t been a viable ‘left’ since the 90s.

Hedges slams five specific groups and institutions — the Democratic Party, churches, unions, the media and academia — for failing Americans and allowing for the creation of a "permanent underclass."

Hedges says that, for motives ranging from self-preservation to careerism, the "liberal establishment" purged radicals from its own ranks and, as a result, lost its checks on capitalism and corporate power.

"For millions of Americans, including the 15 million unemployed Americans," Hedges tells NPR'S Neal Conan, "the suffering is becoming acute."

He cites a recent trip to Camden, N.J., per capita the poorest city in the nation, as an example.

"When you get up and see the human cost of what this has done — these foreclosures, these bank repossessions, the fact that one in eight Americans and one in four children depend on food stamps to survive," Hedges says, it's clear the system has failed.

@phillybluesfan "the "liberal establishment" purged radicals from its own ranks ". I always want to ask what "radicals" are they speaking of. Living wage, equal justice, sane medical care, Family leave, work place rights advocates, food and shelter security? Those radical ideas? It always sounds in the framing as if they're talking about the Weather underground and bomb makers. Just WTF is radical?

I just posted a quick story on exactly that... in photographic evidence form... slice and dicable by region, income bracket, etc. Yes, you are exactly correct and it's quite visible in those photos. The only color that matters is green. It turns out that statement is true globally. I could walk into any house in the world that was in my income bracket and feel right at home. What feels "foreign" is both lower and higher income brackets.

@SnappleBC Chuckie and Donnie can't stand each other, would cross the street to avoid each other. True? Not. They have so much in common it's impossible to avoid each other. There are only so many elite private schools and colleges you can send your kids to. Only so many exclusive neighborhoods to inhabit, only so many tony places to vacation, only so many luxury second homes to buy. There aren't r and d enclaves at that level of wealth. They mingle all the time. Their kids are groomed to be the next rulers, are friends with each other, and their interaction with the common folks is telling some flunkie to hire someone to get the job done.

Hi Aspie, I wish there was another way to awaken to the nightmare of the American Systems, and social orders. I am however to have yet another brother in arms. I see the 1% as the parasites that they are, and you are right, they have always maintained control, and have shifted away from what used to make America Great to shithole status ever since the first President who removed instead of reinforced FDR policies took office.

Having said that, Reagan initiated the rolling death we are seeing now, and yes, Clinton was the Republican in Democrat clothing that ended it all and we saw the end of the actual "Left" in the democratic party. The history has repeated even though history showed how bad the "gilded age" they have returned us to was for the nation as a whole, and how the Versailles court was for France, the truth is, we cannot support a "Wealthy" or Parasite class as they suck the life out of what they are living off of.

Sadly this all dates back to the 1930s when they were going to use mercenaries to kill or depose FDR and eliminate his policies that helped float the earlier generations to the greatness we see leaving here. After the General blew the whistle on them they had to work out another plan, rather than being thankful that they were not arrested and imprisoned for treason(which they should have been!)

They funded their views to think tanks, foundations, institutes and so called universities who then formulated plans and how to make those plans sway the population to looking at the 1% fondly as they got tricked into thinking that they too could become of the Parasite class and enjoy that life-style.

Oh how well this plan actually worked, it was a long game, and for the early years of it, pretty low key and sneaky, getting bolder and bolder, and even their plans were enacted by the Democratic Politicians who wanted that billionaire buck. Getting rid of the actual left from the political scene in politics was their final coup to finalize their take over end game, and now we are living in it as they strip our social programs to siphon that money to them, or their MIC corporations fattening at the tax trough to wage wars of acquisition of resources from poorer nations incapable of fighting back against the Empire as our troops are used as "Storm Troopers" to squash any rebellion against the Imperial resource grabs from our nation.

Anyone who thinks we still have a representative democratic republic in this country needs to wake up and realize you now live in the Corporatist States of Oligarchia.

One tiny tweak, Aspie:

You know, I'm getting fucking tired of the average internet pleb whining about 'the left' or 'pc sjws' hating free speech when such a thing has never existed at any point in Fundie'Murican history.

The 'pc sjws' exist -- and they're no more the left than I'm Leah Remini!

Around here, this kind of injustice collector is known as a practitioner of identity politics, and these actually deserve all the oppobrium that they get as "pc sjws". Please consider just a few lines from the list I linked:

1. Injustice collectors are never wrong. How is it possible that they are never wrong? It's simple: They are always right.

2. Injustice collectors never apologize. Ever. For anything.

4. Injustice collectors make the rules, break the rules and enforce the rules of the family. They are a combination of legislator, police, judge and jury to those they consider their subjects. They forever banish from their kingdom any subject they deem disloyal, and only grant clemency if there is sufficient (in their eyes) contrition.

10. The phrase "walking on eggshells" describes life with an injustice collector.

Now compare that description with life under the "pc sjws" (example: Daily Kos). Much the same, is it not?

The fact remains: Until the entire sub-collegiate working class is happy and prosperous, nobody's going to be happy or prosperous. The last time we made actual progress on any social issues was when labor was doing well -- something that went completely away by 1980 when "conservatism" became the watchword of the day.

And until the entire American nation comes to terms with those facts, we'll remain jammed up where we are now. The genuine American Left, dispersed and small in numbers as we may be, knows this.

thinking about the democratic party as a left wing, liberal political party. The actions of that party since the end of the Vietnam war do not support such a label. It's really just a charade to make people think there are two different philosophies but that's all fake. This latest act using DACA as the dividing point shows how they use this divide to maintain the illusion that the two parties are left and right. It really is all an act.
The real left so far has been too meek in accepting this system.
The only thing I can think of that divides this country more than this two party system is the office of the president itself.

@Snode I tend to usually go for craft soda drinks and even the generic sugared soda from the grocery store brand, the problem with main brands is the use of the High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) which leave you still hungry rather then helping tell your brain enough eating, time to digest and work the food. That means you don't stop swallowing what Coke or Pepsi hands you.

@Big Al thinks that the Democratic party represents the real left. The entire issue of left and right is an artificial construct used to continue to divide we the people. I actually saw a YouTuber recently claim that the Democratic party is promoting communism. W.T.F?

The political system in this country is lost. The people have zero power via the political system. Perhaps they may have some power in smaller local elections, but the PTB are taking over those too.

To be honest, I have lost any hope for real change within this country.

...because it never fails to reflect reality:

In the long term, the Democratic Party will remain the center-right Party that it is. Anybody to the Left of Netanyahu (which is the majority of Americans including the Millennials) will have to take deliberate steps to build a loyal opposition Party so they have a voice in their own futures.

During the 2012 elections, this is where the Center-Right Democratic Party was positioned in the full scale political spectrum. This is how US politics appears to most foreign observers.

This is a US election that defies logic and brings the nation closer towards a one-party state masquerading as a two-party state.

The Democratic incumbent has surrounded himself with conservative advisors and key figures — many from previous administrations, and an unprecedented number from the Trilateral Commission. He also appointed a former Monsanto executive as Senior Advisor to the FDA. He has extended Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, presided over a spiralling rich-poor gap and sacrificed further American jobs with recent free trade deals. Trade union rights have also eroded under his watch. He has expanded Bush defence spending, droned civilians, failed to close Guantanamo, supported the NDAA which effectively legalises martial law, allowed drilling and adopted a soft-touch position towards the banks that is to the right of European Conservative leaders. Taking office during the financial meltdown, Obama appointed its principal architects to top economic positions.

A more detailed analysis can be found at The New Political Compass.

...but there are quite a lot of people on the left, possibly even a sizable majority according to some polls if you go issue by issue. The big problem is that they are disorganized, atomized and thus largely voiceless in the current political landscape where we have two big political parties, run by two competing factions of the plutocracy which nonetheless are in agreement on, if little else, the continuation of the plutocracy and its neoliberal project.

Occupy threatened to break that (and did manage to nudge the national conversation to the left), but was done in by external repression (organized nationally by the Democratic Party) and internal grandstanding and lack of attention to its own original principles.

The Sanders presidential campaign likewise opened up discussion of left politics, but after its inevitable failure was unable to move beyond the usual dead-end electoral solutions. Sanders himself is still out there, pointing out the many failures of capitalism, but still stuck on the short-term pseudo-solution of voting for this or that candidate rather than creating a large grassroots movement independent of parties.

So, no "Left" until we get organized.
