New Bernie Ads in Chicago
It looks like there are three new ads on the air in Chicago for Bernie. I do not watch much TV outside of Netflix/Amazon/PBS so I probably won't see them live but here they are:
The first one is a quick biographical piece that focuses on his history of fighting for the rights of minorities.

The second one (English version below, but there is also a Spanish version.) features Chuy Garcia who was the CTU (Chicago Teachers Union) backed candidate who tried to dethrone Rahm. It goes without saying Rahm is not liked here... at all. I still can't believe he won reelection!

The final one is the most interesting to me. It features Troy LaRaviere who is a Chicago school principal. Why is this interesting you say? Well Mr. LaRaviere is actually a pretty popular guy here on the North side of Chicago. He is a very outspoken critic of CPS (Chicago Public Schools) administration and the mayor. He has sort of a cult following with parents of CPS kids (like myself). His school, Blaine Elementary, is located in the Southport neighborhood, near wrigley field. It is usually the first school that comes to mind for most upper middle class north siders when they think of a good north side school. Again why is this interesting? Well, and here comes my totally non-scientific statement... I would think a lot of people who know and respect Troy are upper middle class, white, potential Hillary Supporters. Just a guess. Lets hope it makes a difference!

I am also a Chicagoan who cannot understand how
Chuy lost. I voted early this year, just yesterday. We made it a family outing, three votes for Bernie.
In my opinion, neither Clinton is much better than Rahm, they just are more tactful in their language. They were all charter members of the DLC and support "market based" solutions, which means selling off all of our public goods to private corporations.

o/t Lake county Indiana (Gary/E.Chicago/Hammond) is in the Chicago TV catchment area so these ads may plant some seeds for the May primary in the state

How anyone can simultaneously believe that
Rahm has sold out the pupils of Chicago's inner city schools, yet believe that HRC will somehow deliver anything but more pain to the African American community, is just one of those great mysteries of the human ability to compartmentalize and cognitively dissonate while still managing to function as a member of society.

We had some excellent ads running in Colorado, including the 1 minute America ad. First time ever I am sorry to see political ads stop. We caucused and Bernie won the state on March 1.
Guess I'll have to wait 'til the General to see more Bernie ads on tv.

Of course I can already see how they will be attacked by the usual suspects.
Not going to mention it yet, for once. Instead, I'm going to plan a move ahead on counters to those moves.
Time to stop playing Jailbird chess and move into grotesque territory. Because I must admit being up against the MSM does sometimes feel like a Grotesque scenario.

The problem with these ads, and especially with the
one I'm embedding, which is being run in Florida apparently, is simple: We all know that Bernie has spent the last 20 years bumbling ineffectively around the Capitol, alienating his fellow legislators and accomplishing zilch; and that he has never been engaged in the lives and experiences and struggle of anyone other than the lily-white denizens of no-color zones like Minnesota and Iowa and Vermont.
I mean ... right? That's gotta be the truth, because it's been stated with such very great confidence and sonorous gravity over in Orange County, lo these past six months.
