California--Alison Hartson to Attempt to Unseat Feinstein 2018
For all of you fellow Californian's, take a gander at this Jimmy Dore interview of Alison Hartson:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwPLfMWZ1TQ
Just to be clear, I have no part in her campaign and hadn't even heard of her before today. But I am very impressed.
If you are too, and if you are able, contributions can be made to her campaign here (or, if you just want to find out more):
She and her team think they can unseat Feinstein with $1 million to $2 million (Feinstein will be spending more than $10 million most likely). She has raised $250,000 in a very short amount of time, and is hoping to double that in the next few days.
If you're in California, let's start working on this! Tell people about her! Show people this video!

Hartson's campaign rollout was suspicious
She didn't even announce herself; she was announced by Justice Democrats, where she was essentially an internal hire (she was recruited from another Cenk organization). When a supporter for David Hildebrand, who had already been running for 8 months, asked Justice Democrats why they choose an internal hire over Hildebrand, someone responded that Hildebrand had the wrong gender. Of course, Justice Democrats backtracked.
Well . . .
I hadn't heard of David Hildebrand either, until you mentioned him. David and Alison seem pretty much identical on issues and policy. Alison seems to have a better, natural stage presence, whereas David is at times a bit rough (there are times when his speaking pauses abruptly as he thinks of the next thing to say--although in general he does well).
As for suspicious, I looked deeper into Alison's background and found nothing I'd consider a red flag. She is the co-director of Wolf-Pac, which the establishment dems do not like at all. She was a long-term teacher. David is a long-term manual laborer. Neither one of them is taking corporate contributions. She has successfully led Wolf-Pac to getting 5 states to approve a constitutional convention focused on getting corporate money out of elections nationwide, and a number of near misses. The effort there is ongoing. At the very least, this means she has national political experience, whereas David seems to lack that.
I guess what it comes down to is that I think Alison has a better chance of winning because she seems much more knowledgeable and her presentation is better. But I think David is decent as well.
Whoever wins that second slot in the primary--whether it's Alison or David--I wouldn't have a problem with either of them.
Your suspicion is warranted
Cenk
helped publicize the start of Wolf-Pac back in 2011--back when he wasn't part of "the machine".
Earlier this year (April and May) he did a couple shows continuing to support Wolf-Pac. I can see where she would be grateful about it, and personally don't have any concerns there.
As to the relationship between JD and TYT, have no idea there.
She said all the right things . . . .
Being a retired teacher, I like her.

It'd take an awful lot... an awful lot...
For me to support a Democrat. Even if this person was, in fact, a populist champion supporting her is still blowing wind into the sails of the Democratic party. I'm afraid if the Democrats want to reform they'll need to do it themselves. I wish all the best to Justice Democrats but I'm not helping them... directly anyway.
I think supporting the Green party IS supporting a change in the Democratic party. The party will never change without external pressure and... well... here's me
*edited to add*
Upon mature consideration, I doubt anything will make the Democratic party or Democrats reconsider. I was just over on DKOS and in an era where their party has been decimated across the boards at every level and they lost to Trump they are STILL chanting "Remember Hillary won the popular vote." They have lost nearly the entire nation and they are not even remotely thinking some reflection is in order.
A lot of wanderers in the U.S. political desert recognize that all the duopoly has to offer is a choice of mirages. Come, let us trudge towards empty expanse of sand #1, littered with the bleached bones of Deaniacs and Hope and Changers.

I refuse to go over there
But next time someone claims she won the popular, point out that she only got a plurality, not a majority. This makes her electoral college defeat even more unique...

Toothless LOL.
Fck I can't believe I'm talking about voting again, but maybe just the primary, maybe just one more time, just to get rid of Feinstein. Last time I voted for Steve Stokes, he is running again. I like Alison's words. I met Stokes' at the Bernie event in Cloverdale, he was shaking hands and passing out flyers at the exit. Has a quiet vibe, I liked him, I like teachers too, Too bad I hate the D party with such passion. PUrge the Clinton wing that's what I say, until then ... keep doing what's always been done.
