(She's such an ingrate): Hillary Clinton accuses Facebook, Twitter and Google of enabling Russian agents

Two of those sites kissed her pant-suited dishonest butt before the primary, during the primary, and ever since she lost the election. Hell, since 2008 they've been carrying her water and fawning all over her. Who would've thunk those photos of her in her sunglasses just tippy-tapping away on her Blackberry would eventually come back to haunt her? They were all over both Google and Facebook. Twitter too, but Twitter is bad because Donald Trump rules Twitter. He may get criticised, pummelled, berated and accused, but he definitely calls the tune.

Hillary Clinton accuses Facebook, Twitter and Google of enabling Russian agents

STANFORD — Speaking in the heart of Silicon Valley on Friday, Hillary Clinton accused Facebook, Twitter and Google of enabling Russian agents in a plot to throw the 2016 presidential election to Donald Trump.

She called for the United States to take a hard line on Russian aggression, predicting that the Kremlin would continue its attempts to influence elections as soon as next year — when dozens of congressional seats will be contested.

“Their weapon of choice is not tanks or missiles, but let’s not mince words: This is a new kind of Cold War — and it is just getting started,” the former secretary of state and Democratic presidential nominee told about 500 students at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

http://www.mercurynews.com/2017/10/06/hillary-clinton-san-francisco-stan...

This "new cold war" thing really has me upset. Crazy old crone is really trying her damn best to get us into a big pissing match with Russia. All for her neocon and neo-liberal bosses who are so desperately trying to stop this country's inevitable slide into second-class nationhood as BRICS takes over the world's economic leadership. But rather than allow that to happen, the Clinton's, their Turd Way buddies, and their owners (the 1%), would rather see it ALL burn. If they can't have it all (the world's wealth) then no one else can have any of it.

Do people even think for a moment that Google and Fakebook didn't grovel and pander for Her Heinous??? What kid of idiots inhabit this country? How can they not know that in truth, most people don't believe one word of this nonsense? Do these people really think they can convince us that it was Russia who lost her the election? That we're just imaging that the reason we didn't vote for her is because we didn't want another money-grubbing, self-serving, centre-right Clinton in the Oval Office? How does that work?

There was so much propaganda and disinformation spread about her, what fantabulous 'qualifications' she had to lead the country, and how she was just about the grearest thing since white bread. You were DIRECTED to that type of journalistic tripe when using Google looking for 'news' or information. There were Clinton Creature Facebook pages everywhere. Check out the Zucketberg/Podesta email below. Facebook PROMOTED her. Well, this is what they get for their support and help trying to get her coronated. OR is this just some kind of goofy disinformation campaign to promote more fake news??? There is no way that she can believe this latest line of BS.:

The Clinton campaign’s chief technology officer, Stephanie Hannon, came from Google, as did the campaign’s chief product officer, Osi Imeokparia. At least two other key Clinton campaign staffers, Derek Parham and Jason Rosenbaum, also previously worked at Google.

Several outside firms connected to Google also worked on the Clinton 2016 campaign. Those included Civis Analytics and The Groundwork, two companies that compiled data and polling on voters for the campaign and that were funded by Google’s Schmidt. Hillary for America spent more than $590,000 on services from The Groundwork and at least $48,000 on Civis Analytics in this campaign cycle. Clinton’s primary super PAC, Priorities USA, has spent more than $800,000 with Civis Analytics this cycle.

Had she won the election, Clinton would have been significantly indebted to Google and Schmidt, whom she has referred to as her “longtime friend.” For comparison, Schmidt’s future team at Civis Analytics was credited with helping produce his five million vote margin of victory during Obama’s 2012 election, and Schmidt subsequently enjoyed extensive access at the Obama White House.

Schmidt took on a similarly active role from the earliest days of the Clinton 2016 campaign, helping design, finance, and implement its digital voter-targeting operation. Internal campaign emails released by WikiLeaks show that Schmidt met with the team working on Clinton’s incipient campaign on April 2nd and 3rd, 2014, before it was even announced. Just three months after the meetings, with future campaign chairman John Podesta and former Clinton State Department aide Cheryl Mills, The Groundwork was incorporated and housed near the Clinton campaign headquarters to work on her voter-targeting effort.

John, I wanted to add my personal thanks, too. Mark can be a demanding and inquisitive student, and he was both impressed and grateful for your time and candor. He’s begun a challenging journey to direct his wealth to have an impact as great as Facebook and your ideas and perspectives really moved his thinking. I know he was focused on the kinds of structures he should put together, but now I suspect he’ll be paying more attention to the types of people he needs — policy entrepreneurs and strategists — as he thinks about next steps. Any and all suggestions are welcome among folks you know or have worked with.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if there are things we can do to be helpful in you and your work — whether at CAP or elsewhere.

Have a great weekend,

Yeah, Google and Facebook sure are working for Russia. This is SOOOOOO wrong for this woman, her DNC flunkies, her neo-liberal and -con owners, to be lining us up for another war when we can't even score a draw with the ones we've got going now. WWII was our last big 'victory' and we had LOTS of help with that one. We are causing an international incident with dangerous ratifications in more ways than one. This is obscene.

But REGARDLESS, HERE COMES THE TAKE-OVER OF THE INTERNET.. Here is where we really start to lose our freedom to communicate without fear of governmental interference and censorship. And like the rest of the worst programs and legislation that TPTB have needed passed to destroy the social safety net and to enact laws to punish minorities and the poor (welfare reform, crime and harsher drug sentencing, NAFTA, repeal of Glass Stegall by the Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act - GLBA) it took a Turd Way 'New' Democrat to get the job done. The Dims are trying to gaslight the populace by spreading false and dangerous lies. With the Clinton Creature's help every slimey inch of the way. Sometimes I wonder if Hillbillary resents Obama because he took even more away from us than they did. By that I mean our kids expectation of having a better life than we did, take away our right to privacy, and ensuring that kids born since bush/Cheney have never lived through a day where this country wasn't involved in a military action somewhere on the planet.

Someone really needs to tell this woman to STFU.

Hillary Clinton accuses Facebook, Twitter and Google of enabling Russian agents

They are monopolies, public utilities, and trojans of propaganda on the verge of being assimilated as Deep State tools for use in crowd control, propaganda, surveillance, and psyops. (At this point, Clinton is acting as an agent of the Deep State. Her code name should be "Little Pearl Harbor." They are out for Russian blood.)

I regard these Internet services as weaponized. (They are.) At the very least, there should be ongoing public service announcements regarding hazards associated with their use, and they should be properly labeled.

Like all public utilities, they should be regulated in a way that directly benefits the people and can never be used against their interests, collectively or individually.

[Somewhat OT but a meta reality worth noting.]

I agree but I hadn't really given it the same thought as I have about me cutting the cord with MSM. But now that you point that out, I'm certain that my infosphere is substantially different than a lot of people's because I don't participate in any of those three.

My web browsing is anonymized. I don't carry cookies from any of them. I don't use google for search and I see no point in twitter. Facebook is useful for my business pages but I certainly don't look at it for social content. I use an adblocker so I don't see any ads.

My information sphere in any given area is built much like my political one. It starts out with sites I somewhat trust like this one and then various links send me to other sites which, after some time, may make it to my "mostly trustworthy" list. I can't imagine what value I'd get from stupid memes floating across my awareness every 5 seconds. Each one would need to be investigated or ignored. I don't have the time for all that investigation so they'd just be ignored.

The sensible approach to media and the Internet you use does't expose you as much. But you also have the ability to discern and analyze. I've seen it. So you are fairly invulnerable to the twisted narrative, which can be a lonely existence in a totalitarian system. In this community, people generally start at zero when confronting a new IED of info. They poke at it and analyze it, look at the effect it has first. Then they build a case, for or against. Emotional reactions tend to come later. It's a group dynamic that's not really susceptible to bullshit propaganda, yet not overly cynical and beyond empathy.

It's the people who vote that worry me. They're the ones who need see more transparency; who need to be tipped off in advance; who need the warnings on the label to forewarn them. Their inner gatekeepers are either untrained or sub par. They are the ones who determine our futures.

I don't think anyone is. I think I fight the influence and it takes a LOT of effort. What happens, however, when you're not immersed in the shit-flow 24x7 is that you don't have to expend that effort. I get for free what otherwise would've required near constant attention and mental rigor.

My assumption is that people have studied manipulating other people for quite some time now and there's a TON Of money and power in it so they have studied it thoroughly. I think they are very, very good at it. Heck, just watching the rest of my family (not counting my 2 sons) is instructive. All of them are very bright, very well read, etc. All of them think Obama is a good person and Hillary would've been a great president. They also believe pretty much everything else that spews out of their TV's.

@Pluto's Republic I happen to think society could use a large amount of education and learning how to spot propaganda.

I view it as the critical modern weapon just as gunpowder once was. When the power is with the people's opinion (as little as it is), manipulating that opinion as a matter of war.

And most people are clueless about propaganda. We still refer back to things as indirect and old as Orwell to discuss it.

The ads were about the BLM,, other racial issues and other topics which I have no idea how they would get people to vote for Trump instead of Hillary. He has scurried off to Washington to testify to congress about the ads. Congress is going to pass legislation that will make anyone who places ads to identify themselves.
Just like they make other political actions ads to identify all the people who have contributed to PACs that place ads, right?
Some people have asked how those ads forced them to vote for Trump if they had never seen them because they don't belong to Facebook. I.belong to Facebook and I don't ever see any ads. This means that I didn't vote for Herheinous because I can't stand her or the things she did.

There may be a change coming in the spring.

I was talking with someone today who mentioned the GDPR.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Data_Protection_Regulation

According to this person, it will protect Europeans from a significant portion of the online surveillance that we see now, as FB and Google and others monetize users as their product. A violation, the first violation, results automatically in a fine of 2% of the company's gross receipts worldwide for the preceding year, paid within ten days or the company's activity would be shut down on the spot. A second offense has a 4% fine, same terms. Thing is, it will protect the Europeans outside Europe as well, including in the US. And the corporations cannot know who's European and who's not, so it will mean a curtailment of the snooping on everyone.

The Wiki entry seems to confirm this.

Thing is, a single offense would bankrupt some of these providers; a second offense would bankrupt many of them.

There may be some carnage in the offing, if we survive 'til May.

It was a direct reaction to the revelations of Edward Snowden, but the fact that they soon discovered that every crevice of the Council of the European Union was thoroughly bugged by the NSA energized Europe to make a statement.

I was shocked at the size of the penalties, you're right. They take their right to privacy seriously. One thing they instituted was "The Right to be Forgotten," which I thought was a pretty interesting concept for the 21st century. Upon demand, Facebook has to instantly "forget" everything it knows about a person. Cybercide still works in Europe.

Well, any election activity is only going to have limited impact, short of killing candidates or setting them up for scandals.

They could have Putin directly advertising on national TV and it wouldn't guarantee the election went the way he wanted.

But it would be clearly interfering - something both illegal (however much we've done it to others) and outside the norms, with plenty of deterrence against nations doing it *normally*.

The most qualified candidate to run for president evah!
She was the most likable Secretary of State evah!
She ran on the most progressive platform evah!

Oh gawd, I can't go on.

One of her most ardent bots wrote a diary about why she's still with Her and some of her reasons why she still is was that Paul Ryan said that he was looking forward to working with her because she would fix the deficit problem. This was code word for working with the republicans on privatizing social security. The other reasons she had went over her head for why it would be disastrous for Hillary to be president. I didn't know if I should laugh or cry about this person's delusional thinking.

This article nails what Herheinous sycophants are doing by buying into the Russian propaganda.

A New McCarthyism Is Taking Hold in America

Make no mistake about it: The United States has entered an era of a New McCarthyism that blames nearly every political problem on Russia and has begun targeting American citizens who don’t go along with this New Cold War propaganda.

A difference, however, from the McCarthyism of the 1950s is that this New McCarthyism has enlisted Democrats, liberals and even progressives in the cause because of their disgust with President Trump; the 1950s version was driven by Republicans and the Right with much of the Left on the receiving end, maligned by the likes of Sen. Joe McCarthy as “un-American” and as Communism’s “fellow travelers.”

The real winners in this New McCarthyism appear to be the neoconservatives who have leveraged the Democratic/liberal hatred of Trump to draw much of the Left into the political hysteria that sees the controversy over alleged Russian political “meddling” as an opportunity to “get Trump.”

They are being duped and are too stupid to realize it.

@snoopydawg "The most qualified candidate to run for president evah!"

I think there's a pretty good case for that one. But as I said in the primary, that's not really a reason to vote for her. Policies matter more than experience.

Now, trump's *total* lack of experience and worst-ever unfitness for the office is more relevant in comparison.

"She was the most likable Secretary of State evah!"

I never heard that one said. Though she doesn't have a lot of competition.

"She ran on the most progressive platform evah!"

That seems true, with Bernie's influence on the platform especially. But while it was a great reason to prefer her over trump, she was far from the progressive we needed.

"She would know how to work with the republicans......"

That's a terrible one. We don't want them 'working with the Republicans'...

When I offer to wash your back in the shower, all you have to say is yes or no.
Not all this "who are you, and how did you get in here?" nonsense.

Over at that other site, DailyKos, starting last fall and through the winter, I was accused, multiple times of being a KGB agent working for the Russians. The accusation took many forms (like, fifth columnist), but there was nothing jesting or dogwhistley about it. My complaints led to the aforementioned posts being recced up.

I thought, okay, this too shall pass. But the appetite for stab-in-the back revisionism amongst former Hillary supporters is insatiable. It's probably the main reason they have lost their credibility with much of the rest of the liberal movement. You can't keep making McCarthyist accusations against your ALLIES, and expect them to take you seriously.

As for FB, Google, and Twitter, I lost interest in all that last year. Even if it's true, it doesn't change the fact that Hillary's campaign just flat out blew an election against the dumbest and creepiest novice that ever ran for president, and lost it while outspending him two to one. I don't care how many excuses she makes. I just want her to go away, finally, and let the rest of us clean up the mess.

Apparently one is just usual politics and the other one is collusion with Putin because he hates Hillary, or something.

This is what goes over people's heads because they can't understand how he was able to beat her and because they hate him. They hate him for who he is, I hate him for what he is doing to people in this country.

@snoopydawg There's no difference with trump trying to find dirt - there's a big difference with trump's team working with Russia to get dirt.

This isn't new, though. Nixon sabotaged LBJ's Vietnam peace and extended the war for year to win. Reagan's campaign, there's strong evidence delayed the hostage release with Iran to win.

If she's an ingrate, wouldn't that be, not Russia, but Trump who made her so? That was in his electioneering speeches, remember?

On the other hand, if Russia was involved in 'making Hillary ingrate again', that makes Hillary a 'Putin Puppet', does it not?

Either way - yes, she should STFU and her handlers should get her either back on her meds or on different ones that work better without causing delusions of plausibility.

you think they'll finally just go away THEY COME BACK, and they kick up the crazy factor to hyperdrive. Anyone else with her record would get a hint and go away. But no, she not only comes back, she's crazier and more dishonest than ever. She has no sense of shame.

I really think all the Clintons deserve a special kind of Karmic payback for the damage they have caused innocent people. Like those who lost their homes because of Wall Street criminality or the victims of cluster bombs over in the Hell that she help let loose in the Middle a East.

nothing more than a self absorbed snake was when I read about the signed agreement she made with the Obama administration not to mix Foundation business with her position as Sec. of State and also agreed not to hire or deal with Sid Blumenthal either. She violated both agreements in plain daylight and Obama did nothing about it (no surprise there). Then I saw her lie bold faced at a townhall meeting during the campaign where she stated she had permission from the State Dept. for her off site server and email system. That was the point where I really started digging into her past actions and record at State (while doing my best to avoid right wing info sites-- not easy).
Bottom line... she is a walking 'smiling stiletto', she'll stab you in the back every chance she gets with a smile on her face.
I remember my mother telling me during the 08 campaign that she would never vote for Hillary because she forgave Bill for his philandering. She said you can't trust a woman who has so little self dignity as to stay with a man who treated her like that. At the time, I kind of chalked that off to her own bitterness about my father's unfaithfulness. She said to me quite forcefully, "I loathe that woman!"
Mom has passed away, but I will think of her every time I describe my feelings for Hillary Clinton. I loathe that woman!

this was how she got around Obama's telling her to keep him out of the state department. He was involved with her duties as SOS all during her tenure. He got her information on what was happening in Libya and many other Middle Eastern countries. He would send her classified information to her email and she would forward them on to Obama, but take his name off them first.

Her foundation was a slush fund and an excuse to let Bill be in positions to get paid for his speeches wherever she was doing business.

Have you heard what her and Bill did to Haiti after the earthquake? They basically stole the billions that people donated and gave all contracts for rebuilding Haiti to their friends and family members.
Hillary's state department was also involved in Haiti's politics.

This article never got the exposure it should have.

@snoopydawg Which only goes to reinforce the fact that he has little spine when it comes to bullies. And that is what Hillary (and Bill to an extent) are... bullies. I also hate Jeff Session, but find myself kind of hoping he goes after the Clinton Foundation.
And while Dems are frothing at the mouth over Trump starting WWIII, they totally ignore the fact that Hillary supported his bombing of Syria, has proposed since last year that the US declare that cyber attacks from Russia should trigger a war declaration, and that war with North Korea a a viable solution...https://www.thenation.com/article/hillarys-hawks-are-threatening-war-aga...

She is a dangerous idealogue and actually Trump is a bit less hawkish than she is.

"Without the right to offend, freedom of speech does not exist." Taslima Nasrin

@Fishtroller 02 @Fishtroller 02 Hillary was too hawkish. But it's not fair to say she's more hawkish than trump overall. We don't know about trump yet entirely, but it's an odd assertion to make at a time that trump is talking about 'totally destroying' North Korea, raining fire on them, making threatening statements that they only understand one thing, talks are useless, and that it's 'calm before the storm'.

Your summary of Hillary's position on North Korea wasn't very fair. The strongest part - pre-emptive strikes - referred to trying to disable their nukes IF THEY WERE ABOUT TO LAUNCH THEM.

The rest referred more to things like cyber measures and missile defense for neighbors.

From the article you linked:

Strangely, despite the growing tensions, North Korea hasn’t figured large in the three presidential debates. Instead, Clinton has focused largely on Donald Trump’s cavalier suggestion in September that South Korea and Japan develop their own nuclear weapons to counter the North.

Clinton, eager to show her fealty to traditional US policy, has argued instead for maintaining US alliances with Seoul and Tokyo and keeping the US “nuclear umbrella” over them. “I would work with our allies in Asia, in Europe, in the Middle East, and elsewhere,” she said in the final debate on October 19. “That’s the only way we’re going to be able to keep the peace.”

The Clinton team’s new thinking for Korea began to emerge on September 9, when North Korea tested its fifth nuclear device since 2006. That day, she declared US policy, particularly the Obama administration’s plan to lean on China to curb Kim and his military, dead in the water.

“It’s clear that the increasing threat posed by North Korea requires not only a rethinking of the strategy, but an urgent effort to convince the neighbors, most particularly China, that this is not just a US issue,” Clinton said after she convened a group of her national security advisers.

The public got another glimpse into her thinking two weeks ago, when WikiLeaks released three Clinton speeches delivered to Goldman Sachs in 2013 (the texts were included in hacked e-mails from former White House Chief of Staff John Podesta).

To prevent the North from developing nukes, Clinton said in one talk to her banker friends, “we’re going to ring China with missile defense. We’re going to put more of our fleet in the area. So, China, come on, you either control them or we’re going to have to defend against them.”

Clinton’s private militance was on public display on October 17, when retired Admiral James Stavridis, a top Clinton adviser, told an NPR affiliate in Boston that North Korea was “the most dangerous country in the world,” and mapped out a provocative plan to counter its nuclear program with cyber war and preemptive military strikes.

Stavridis, the former commander of the US European Command who was briefly considered by Clinton as a running mate, said her administration would go beyond sanctions with a “significant effort in the cyber world to try and neutralize [Kim’s] progress.” He endorsed developing US military contingencies “capable of reaching into that regime and blunting their abilities to use those weapons.”

ELECTED OFFICIALS AND ACTIVISTS DEMAND CLINTON RETURN DONATIONS FROM ROGUE MILITARY CONTRACTOR
Textron bribed Saddam Hussein’s regime, and manufactures cluster bombs

Providence, RI: Various elected officials and anti-war activists are calling on Hillary Clinton to return campaign contributions from Textron, Inc. Textron is a Rhode Island-headquartered Fortune 500 conglomerate, from whose PAC Clinton took money in 2005 and 2006. Textron bribed the Hussein government during the lead-up to the Iraq war, and is a major manufacturer of cluster bombs, which yield high rates of civilian casualties.

BRIBERY OF SADDAM HUSSEIN’S REGIME:
Last August, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Department of Justice fined Textron more than $4.6 million dollars as punishment for more than $600,000 in bribes that the company’s David Brown subsidiaries paid to Saddam Hussein’s regime from 2001-2003. Textron paid the bribes to Hussein to obtain contracts within the United Nations’ Oil-for-Food program. [1] The SEC found that Textron’s corporate leadership either knew about the bribes or was negligent in not knowing about them.

In the fall of 2002, Hillary Clinton voted to authorize military action against Iraq, saying of Hussein, “Saddam Hussein is a tyrant who has tortured and killed his own people, even his own family members, to maintain his iron grip on power.”

In 2005 and 2006 she accepted at least $2,000 dollars from Textron’s PAC, whose bribes would serve to further entrench Hussein’s despotic regime and facilitate its ability to perpetrate atrocities against its own citizens and coalition forces. (The amount received from Textron’s employees, and employees of its many subsidiaries could not be determined.)

*

PRODUCTION OF CLUSTER BOMBS:
Additionally, Textron is a major manufacturer of cluster munitions. [2] The Red Cross and United Nations have decried the use of cluster bombs; the UN has found that 40% of those killed by cluster munitions are children. [3] This week, more than 120 countries are meeting in New Zealand to discuss an agreement to limit the use of cluster bombs. [4]

In September of 2006, as Clinton took money from Textron, she crossed party lines to vote against Senate Amendment 4882, which would have banned the use of cluster bombs by the US armed forces, and whose stated purpose was “To protect civilian lives from unexploded cluster munitions.” [5]

I Pity The Fool - Bobby Blue Bland

"I Pity the Fool" is a soul blues song originally recorded by Bobby Bland in 1961 for his first Duke Records album, Two Steps from the Blues. Many music writers believe it was written by Joe Medwick,[2] although Duke owner Don Robey (using the pseudonym "Deadric Malone") appears on the songwriting credits.[1]
