Bernie backers' attacks on Democrats infuriate the party
Prominent Democrats are increasingly riled by attacks from Bernie Sanders' supporters, whose demands for ideological purity are hurting the party ahead of the 2018 midterms and 2020 presidential election, they say.
But it’s not just the outside agitators that Democratic lawmakers, operatives, and activists are annoyed with: They’re tired of what they see as the senator’s hesitance to confront his own backers, either in public or through back channels.
Tensions boiled over recently when a handful of Sanders loyalists bashed freshman Sen. Kamala Harris — a rising star in the party and potential 2020 hopeful — as an establishment tool. Democrats were also rankled that other prominent Sanders allies said support for single-payer health care should be a litmus test for candidates.
In response, Democratic senators and outside groups have begun telling Sanders and friendly intermediaries that if he wants to be a leading figure for Democrats ahead of 2020’s presidential election, he needs to get his supporters in line — or at least publicly disavow their more incendiary statements.

1) They totally misunderstand the progressive insurgency. Bernie couldn't stop it if he wanted to. It speaks volumes that the Dem establishment doesn't even understand how grassroots works.

Dishonesty and corruption on that

Sometime I think that people cared up until Reagan, and then voting for one's leaders became a popularity contest or just a weapon to use against people that you disagree with. Not necessarily because of right and wrong, but because it's simply a vote against the 'other' side. How many refuse to do their due diligence to research a candidate's history or record but instead vote on the basis of who pisses off the other side the most? Too many IMO.

I know he keeps saying no to Third Party, and I think he means it. He is tryly to reform from within to the degree he thinks he can. Soon, however, the gods may take his fate out of his hands. People have been pissed off at Congress and our government as far back as I can remember and nothing ever got any better. Trump and Obama may be the last dump these politicians get to take on the American voter no matter how hard Bernie tries to keep it together for an internal coup d'etat
While I'm not happy with Bernie's long game approach, I am willing to reserve judgment and wait and see.

But we can no longer
wait long, or wait for Bernie. The only way "we" are going to move Bernie off the pot and back out in the streets where he belongs is for "us" to be out there screaming about Third Party. And, not just screaming, "signing people up," getting them to join our parade. We "March on Washington" with one million of us, 1,000,000 of us, and Bernie will no longer be able to ignore the pull. The pull will be strong.

supporting the candidates and the party that has become the antithesis of everything it should be does not have our best interests at heart. He is supporting a bunch of elitist crackpots who have now made it clear that we aren't entitled an honest say in determining who leads our party and our country.,These are the people HE told us were wrong for the country a while back when he was running for the Presidency. Now he wants us to get back in line and keep them in office. Which time was he telling the truth? He's has become the poster 'boy' doing the same stupid shit over and over again.
He has not said a word in defense of the people who supported him with their money and support and TRUST. He just did a complete 180 one fine day and everything he said before, well just ignore it. He was just fooling. No warning why "all the way to Philly" became "get out and vote for Hillary". It just was.
The most pathetic part about his entire situation is that he will NEVER be allowed to be more than a frontman for the chosen ones. He will propose legislation, and all the attention will be given to their golden girls or boys who signs up to co-sponsor. His Medicaid for All bill? For days it's been all about Kamala Harris, now it's Warren. Regardless, it will be the girl's support that won the day (if by a wild chance that could:would happen). If it bombs it'll be because the old socialist's bill was too unreasonable, not possible.
Sanders quit looking out for OUR best interests a year or so ago. Now he's the best thing the Dims have going for them. I guess he never caught on during that Perez/Ellison kerfluffle. He is not looking out for us, he is pandering for them.
