Go Ask Alice
I was checking out some classic rock videos on youtube and came across this one with the Jefferson Airplane appearing on American Bandstand with Dick Clark. In 1967, fifty years ago. Clark talks about San Francisco and how there's a "whole new scene" there, it's "where it's at", and the Jefferson Airplane are probably the most talked about group in the world at the moment with some controversy. The Airplane performs White Rabbit and Somebody to Love.

Fifty years ago man (think Tommy Chong voice). We were on the right track breaking through the conservative, close minded, brainwashed culture in trying to bring peace, freedom and equality to the forefront. Somewhere it got derailed. We didn't finish the deal.
Now, too many people are way too uptight and afraid to go ask Alice. We've got guys like Sessions, this white haired prude who probably tightens his asshole so far it hurts when he hears a rock and roll song. To this day. Jesus. Where was he in 1967, some training camp somewhere for future conservative assholes? And then there's Pence, good gawd. Put me in a room with that dude, alone, please. I'm 62 and I look at him and wonder what the hell went wrong in fifty fucking years. Why are there still people like him? We've still got KKK fuckers running around and Trump pardoning a racist pig, literally. Holy hell.
Fifty years man. We've actually regressed.
An old compadre OPOL said it best, "the hippies had it right". The Deciders are trying to turn back the clock. They want to "Make America great again" by expanding the racist, fascist police state already permeating the country. They want to bring back Reefer Madness and Walls to keep people in and replace food stamps with food lines. They want more war and destruction.
Well bring it on, let's go back to the sixties and have at it again. This
time there can be no compromising so we don't have to do it again in another fifty years, in 2067. It's not that far away, believe me.

Hey, I've been PUI all day...
Fine with me if I have to be the token vet Hippy.
Course, I have a different taste in music, but the funny thing is that it's so old now, it's like being into Buddy Holly in the 90s...
Wait... that did happen... ok, I'm cool.

I do not pretend I know what I do not know.
Peace
was an idea that died with the death of Martin Luther King Jr.
Those who think that being a pacifist is the way to freedom for all, have either been drinking too much or using drugs I have not partaken of.
There will be no peaceful revolution.
Prove me wrong:
Our government cares only for wall street. Money buys influence.
The po-po have now been given unfettered access to all the military weapons they could want. You really think you can stop a tank? It only worked for one person in China. Now they can blast us with sonic.
Tasers are safe. Usually.
They feared for their lives. Always a good fall-back position.
Stick your flowers up your nose because at least you'll smell something nice before you die.
Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.
Can't prove you wrong.
And then there's this.
I no longer hope. Somebody shit on that concept.

WTF happened to us?
We thought we had "won enough" and life moved on. Who knew we had simply poked the bear, and these crazy people would stew and plot revenge for 50 years. If this isn't a major reason for redistribution of wealth from the top to the bottom, I don't know what is. Too much money in the hands of a crazy person can destroy the world.
"Religion is what keeps the poor from murdering the rich."--Napoleon
Sadly I think you are right
there will be no peaceful revolution. This was tried during the 70's and even though it worked for awhile and the hippies were placing flowers into police guns, it ended with 4 people dead at Kent state.
The next time people tried it was the OWS protests and we know how that ended. This same thing happened with the DAPL protests and both of them were broken up because they threatened TPTB's profits. This will never be acceptable.
This is how the DAPL protesters were treated:
The Bundy's were allowed to have two armed conflicts with federal authorities and at the first one the militia were able to threaten federal officers' lives and the lives of the nearby town. Hell, they closed down the major freeway that was close to the ranch. It's taken over 3 years until they were arrested but it wasn't until after they took over the wildlife center for 5 weeks and again they threatened not only the town, but the people in it.
This is how the Bundy protesters were treated:
Huge difference.
Remember this guy?
His trial just ended and he was either found not guilty or the jury couldn't make a decision. Either way, he isn't in jail.
And as you stated, the police will meet any protests that gets in the way of profits. If they are too peaceful, they will find a way to start the violence.
The real question is, what is it going to take until the people on both sides going to say enough and do everything in our power to stop what TPTB are doing to us and the planet?
There were problems with running a campaign of Joy while committing a genocide? Who could have guessed?
Harris is unburdened of speaking going forward.

Great clip, Big Al! Thank you, sir.
Great story about how she got involved with the band. Dick's looking good, too. I gave it an 85....good beat and easy to dance to. I have asked Alice. She always had plenty to say.
OPOL Always had it right.
I am hoping it all collapses under it's own weight. I can't really think of anything else that might work.

The Democrats gave us Biden and war instead.

With an economic and foreign policy that is unsustainable, change will occur. I just hope it's in the direction of the hippy philosophy. I can't forget what happened at Kent State the Spring of 1970, but the fallout from that injustice could very well play out differently today. Also, climate change is having an impact and can no longer be ignored. After Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Irma may be the catalyst for change. We'll know soon enough.
