If you don't endorse Kamala Harris you are racist and sexist

In case there was any confusion, the rules of Democratic Party politics have not changed.
Identity Politics trumps economic justice, and those progressives that complain are smeared in the exact same way the Dems will try to smear Republicans (and fail).

Consider how Kamala Harris (the one that has "Dem donors buzzing") is being pitched to us.

Sen. Kamala Harris May Be A Freshman, But Don't Tell Her To Wait Her Turn In 2020

Don’t Tell Kamala Harris To Wait Her Turn

Nearly the exact same headline, posted just two days apart, and yet it isn't the same article.
Isn't that an amazing coincidence? /snark

Now let's look at the lead content.

While White men are judged on their "potential," Black women like Kamala Harris are often told they don't have the experience to be in political spaces.

However, a particular criticism I’m seeing pop up again and again for one of these leaders, Sen. Kamala Harris, has me concerned. Once again, I’m seeing people try to create a false narrative that a qualified woman and person of color is not truly “qualified.”

Nothing like building a strawman.
In case you still didn't get the point, this came out later.

Getting Out Of The ‘Sunken Place’ Of Politics: Black Women Are Key To Future Progressive Wins

If you were under the impression that popular ideas and strong values were the "key to future progressive wins", you now know better.

“We can’t afford to be purists...What do we have to do in this movement to be pragmatic?”
- Kamala Harris

Wouldn't you know it, those damn sexist Bernie Bros just won't endorse a "strong woman".

Democratic rising star Kamala Harris has a “Bernieland” problem

“She’s one of the people the Democratic party is putting up,” DeMoro told the Times. “In terms of where the progressives live, I don’t think there’s any ‘there’ there.”
Harris’s defenders immediately took issue with DeMoro’s lack of enthusiasm.
“When it comes to where progressives live, uh, which ones are she referring to? The white ones?” Essence contributor Michael Arceneaux wrote,

There you go: if you are a woman like DeMoro who doesn't endorse Harris, you must be racist.

Not All Leftists Are Thrilled About 2020 Dem Wundergirl Kamala Harris

This. Will. Not. Stand.
Progressives will fall into line or be shamed!
No more beating around the bush. Support Harris OR ELSE!

The Left Needs to Acknowledge Its Sexism, Part Two: Kamala Harris Edition
They're already trying to take down one of the Democratic party's rising stars.

I’ve been dissatisfied with Bernie Sanders’ supporters since he announced his campaign back in June of 2015, not because I was angry that they didn't support my preferred candidate, Hillary Clinton, but because of their inability to see how their criticisms of her were, more often than not, rooted in a fear of powerful women.

See, the real reason you didn't endorse Hillary wasn't because she was a corrupt, warmongering Wall Street insider.
It was because you "feared powerful women".

Their reasons for not supporting Harris are based on - well, let's be nice and call them "alternate facts" - from outlets and reporters who flirt dangerously with misleading their readers. The Intercept ran a story on the Harris/Mnuchin connection the day she was sworn into the Senate, January 3, once again making it clear where their priorities lie in the debate over how best to move forward. And of course, Australian "rogue journalist" Caitlin Johnstone provided a hilarious example of anti-Harris fervor, in an article called “WE. DON’T. HAVE. TIME. FOR. THIS. SHIT.” (caps hers.) Like all of her other writing, it is so detached from reality that it doesn’t even present any realistic reasons not to support her, except that she’s the Democratic Establishment, will take us to war with Russia etc, etc, etc.

War Schmore. No Democrat cares about wars anymore.

PS - I am fully aware that that I'm accusing women of engaging in a gendered attack on one of their own.

So many self-hating women out there.

Most of those prisoners now work as groundskeepers, janitors and in prison kitchens, with wages that range from 8 cents to 37 cents per hour. Lawyers for Attorney General Kamala Harris had argued in court that if forced to release these inmates early, prisons would lose an important labor pool.

after what you just wrote, it's clear that you are a racist and a misogynistic man. Next you will start mansplaing more reasons for why I should support the mini-Hillary candidate.

And if you have a problem with our marching to global hegemony, you are peace loving hippie. Or if you have a problem with Harris not prosecuting a slam dunk case against Mnuchinl then you aren't living in reality. Obama and Holder said that the banks are too big to jail, don't you remember?
So get off your high horse and vote for the next neo-liberal that the democrats tells you to fall in line for.
Besides, where else are you going to go?

Yep. I'm still seeing this statement being written in so many comments.
Bernie presented himself as a candidate that was running on values that the democrats used to believe in.

However, Sanders will be almost 80 in 2020, is still not a Democrat, and most of all, will face the same dilemma that thwarted his incredibly impressive but nonetheless failed presidential bid:

Or maybe BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley is sexist?

According to recent press reports, California’s newly elected senator Kamala Harris has begun her turn on the rich people’s casting couch. Harris won’t have to run for Senate re-election until 2022, so the quick once over from the high and mighty means only one thing. America’s oligarchs in the Democratic Party are considering her for the job at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in 2020.

And racist too!

“Hillary Clinton donors have lined up to vet Harris.”

The Democratic Party is nothing if not consistent. The debacle that led to Donald Trump’s election has not led to any introspection on their part. The only issue for the rich people who determine who we can choose is whether or not they are backing a winning horse.

Harris is a natural, the total package as it were. She is a new face, young, photogenic and like Barack Obama, bi-racial. White people will consider her exotic enough to be acceptable and black voters will rally around her. Already she is being referred to as Obama 2.0. Like him she courted big money funders to wage a successful senate campaign and then emerged as a future presidential candidate.

https://www.blackagendareport.com/kamal_harris_new_obama

That cinches it! BAR is racist and sexist.

BAR also castigates Corey Booker:

After losing the White House to the most unpopular president in history, Democrats have lots to say, but even more to avoid saying, lest they expose themselves as every bit as much corporate tools as their Republican foes. New Jersey Senator Cory Booker is their ideal spokesperson, a cynical, photogenic and utterly dependable corporate whore who can be counted on to keep the anti-Trump rabble safely inside the Democrats' big stinky tent.

Bullshit. She IS inexperienced. We know what happens when we elect a president who, although he talks well, is inexperienced and naïve because he doesn't know how to get what he wants, but he is greedy enough to do whatever the fuck big banks, the MIC, Wall Street, and all corporations involved in government want. In fact, they write the legislation for what they want and then they want the House and Senate to pass it and the president to sign it.

Dear Kamala:

You are quoted as saying: “We can’t afford to be purists...What do we have to do in this movement to be pragmatic?”

Define how you meant "purist."

As for the rest, how do you mean "pragmatic?" For those endowed with non-political common sense, we have a very definite set of criteria we want in our politicians, the first being that s/he has to do what is best for the majority of Americans at all times (NOT corporations, big banks, MIC, and Wall Street), and if you don't have the same positions, we won't vote for you. It is just that Simple.

What is your position on Medicare for All? Here's what WE the People mean: NON-corporate government-administered not-for-profit single-payer health insurance, which also means no deductibles and no co-pays. We already pay into Medicare insurance from our first paycheck through our last Social Security insurance check, it's already funded, but even if legislation raises the withholding for Medicare slightly, it would still be a lot cheaper than paying for private corporate insurance..., which means we the people pay for their CEO and Shareholder bonuses by force of law, thanks to one of the more stupid SCOTUS decisions that says paying private health insurance premiums to benefit corporations is "a kind of tax." No, it isn't. It's pure profit for the corporations.

Do you understand that "fixing ACA" - i.e., giving more money and profits to insurance, medical, and pharmaceutical corporations - is NOT our idea of "improving medical care" for We the People?!? And, goodness knows, no one who isn't a millionaire can really afford the insurance fees for which people get almost nothing once deductibles and co-pays are taken into account.

Do you want women to have personal autonomy and be able to make their own medical decisions regarding birth control and/or abortion? Will you repeal all abortion laws and leave it to women to discuss whatever they want in the privacy of the doctor-patient consultations?

What about wars? Do you want to end the illegal and unconstitutional wars against little guerrilla gangs in various countries in the Mideast? Do you know what the Constitution says about Congress having war powers (against countries, not guerrilla gangs), and about Congress having the authority to raise funds for war for two years (US Constitution, Article I, Section 8, paragraph 11, ad passim). Did you know that nowhere in the Constitution does it give Congress the ability to transfer its war powers to a president (or anyone else)? Do you understand that's what makes the AUMFs unconstitutional and illegal?

Will you back $15/hr pay raise - instantly, not incrementally...?

I could go on, but this would get much, much too long.

In the real world we have to work before we get paid. We can't promise to work and get paid anyway before we do any work. Promises are too easily broken.

In the political world we want our junior legislators to accomplish something BEFORE we vote for them. (We'll give newbies a chance, but we expect them to perform for OUR benefit - the part in the Preamble of the Constitution that says "promote the General Welfare" - not the benefit of rich campaign donors.) DO SOMETHING BEFORE campaign season starts that benefits We the People, and we might just vote for you. If all you do is pass legislation that benefits corporations, you might get the approval of the DNC corporation, but you'll never get the votes of We the People (see the 2016 primary and election results; WE didn't want the lying warmonger, and there was nothing the DNC corporate stooges could do to change that, in spite of their rigging the primaries for Her).

It's not a matter of "fearing powerful women." When you or Elizabeth Warren or any other woman sits on a committee and pushes for answers where the male legislators won't it's merely cute to watch and shows some gumption, some assertion that's expected of men but not women. It doesn't mean you've accomplished anything. You would only be showing your actual power if you accomplished something with that persistent streak in your personality.

You want to be president? DO SOMETHING as a senator to prove you have the power to get things done..., and by that DO SOMETHING, I mean it MUST benefit We the People..., NOT corporations, banks, Wall Street, MIC, etc. You're only in your first term in the Senate (just like Obama was when he declared his candidacy; you're a good speaker like him, have the same financial connections, but have you done anything yet that benefits ONLY We the People...? Time's a wasting to get something done BEFORE campaign season. ... tick... tock... tick... tock....

Obama team pushing Deval Patrick presidential run

Former President Obama and his advisers are reportedly urging former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick (D) to run for president in 2020, according to Politico Magazine.

Obama, a personal friend of Patrick, has privately encouraged him to consider a 2020 bid, the magazine said. Meanwhile, Valerie Jarrett, a close adviser to the former president, said that Patrick being president is what "my heart desires."

David Axelrod, former chief strategist for Obama, has reportedly spoken with Patrick about a potential run, pointing out electoral advantages that Patrick might have such as high turnout in his native New England and in Southern black communities.

Exhibit A in the Revolving Door of DC Pay-To-Politics that rewards all players with cush jobs, as they grease right through the spinning door, to get paid in the private sector for keeping the status quo that allows the raping and pillaging to continue unencumbered.

Lost track of this "great hope" and look at this. Gets a cush job at the vulture capitalist firm started by Mitt fucking Romney. "It's a Big Club, and you and me ain't in it," said St. George Carlin.

What disturbs me most, I think, is just how commonplace it's become to such a degree that most just accept it as the way things are and there's nothing you can do about it.

It should have the reverse effect, ala Bernie's campaign: if you accept corporate money, or, as in this case, go to work for a notorious vulture capitalist enterprise, you are persona non grata as a Person of the People when election time rolls around. No matter how much massive public relations campaign can help to build a "narrative," the fact must be hammered home that no politician who accepts corporate and Wall St money should ever be elected again. Can't serve two masters (though the Neoliberals at TOP twist themselves into pretzels trying to convince themselves it's possible).

That was probably the biggest takeaway from Bernie's run. That you don't have too grovel for Wall St and Corporate money.

These fucking pricks make me sick. This guy goes from Governor to working for a "venture capitalist" company. Yeah, fucking right...guess it must have been his "business" acumen that made him attractive to the company.

The whole system is so putrid.

One more thing...

Though Amy's fallen mightily, Democracy Now had on a guest who had written a piece about the new FBI Dir. Wray, who comes from a long line in a family that have been Wall St defense attorneys. He put his confirmation into the context of what all these high level positions have come to be the domain of (and probably always have been, see C. Wright Mills' "The Power Elite"), the same connected people just shuffle from one side to the other.

...Credit Suisse was engaged in two different felony prosecutions. 2009, Wray represented them in a case involving sanctions busting, and he got them off with a deferred prosecution agreement. And then, in 2014, he managed to negotiate a settlement with the Holder Justice Department that basically got Credit Suisse no jail time for any executives, no withdrawal of corporate licenses, a tax-deductible $2.6 billion fine. And this was for a—basically, helping 22,000 Americans evade more than $20 billion of taxes over decades of misbehavior. So it was a nice deal for the bank. And Wray was deeply involved in obtaining that settlement. But it’s just one of the many settlements that he obtained during that period on the behalf of major banks...

Then he connects the dots:

Well, if you look closely at the career paths of people like Wray and Loretta Lynch and Andrew Weissman, I found it astonishing—I had never done this before—but a sort of a network analysis of all the cross-reporting relationships since the 1990s show that, you know, they’re all—there’s a relatively small group of maybe a few hundred people who have been percolating around the Justice Department, in and out, and through the revolving-door system connecting them to major Wall Street and, you know, Washington law firms. And so they’re all—they’re all very intimate with each other. They work with each other directly. And so, I think that presents—well, it’s certainly a structural problem for the way the Justice Department operates in a world in which there is so much influence by Wall Street firms.
