(Things that make you go "Hmmmm") Hillary Clinton Will Launch a PAC

Yep, I just bumped into a headline that gave me the equivalent of an ice cream headache. No, it's worse than that. Maybe it's what getting smacked in the forehead with a two-by-four is like.

Hillary Clinton Will Launch a PAC.
https://politicalwire.com/2017/05/03/hillary-clinton-will-launch-pac/

*sigh* well just kill me now.

Every damn time I think we've FINALLY got rid of that woman and the jerk she's married to (and now the freaking kid), that Creature rises up from the dead and starts campaigning all over again. I hope I'm wrong about this but, whenever a Clinton starts hitting the trail to raise donor money, BAD THINGS HAPPEN!!! But I digress...

Does anyone here know anything as to how reliable Teagan Goddard's Political Wire is? I looke him up. Here's a brief intro:

Political Wire is a political blog based in the United States. It was founded in 1999 and published by Taegan Goddard /ˈteɪɡən/,[1] a former policy adviser to Democratic U.S. Senator Donald Riegle and Republican Governor Lowell Weicker, and the co-author of the political management book, You Won - Now What?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_Wire

That sounds pretty impressive. And then I see that he is an Indie with a pretty 'progressive' following:

Political Wire is officially non-partisan. Goddard told Fishbowl DC [3] that people sometimes get confused by his politics because he's fiercely independent in his views and "not a joiner by nature." Despite the official political stance, Political Wire is ranked among the top 10 most popular liberal blogs.[4]

4 "10 Popular Liberal Blogs". Blogs.com.

Its principal readers may be summarized as follows:

White (non-Latino)[5]
Mixed religion [6]
Males [7]
Self-identified Democrats [8]
Between the ages of 21 to 65 [9]
Highly educated [10]

Here's some of the reporting under that headline;

Hillary Clinton “soon will launch a PAC as a way of ‘acting as a quiet catalyst’ for organizations she cares about, and eventually will help 2018 congressional candidates — but with no intention of making it a vehicle to run for anything herself,” Mike Allen reports.
https://politicalwire.com/2017/05/03/hillary-clinton-will-launch-pac/

WTF??? A Clinton out doing what they do best, selling influence and gathering up a chunk of change and not using it for herself? See, this is where I start to get really really sceptical. These people have never done anything that didn't enrich themselves. If there's a few crumbs to throw to the Great Unwashed, and I do mean few, then that's the proverbial icing on the cake. And some damn fine publicity for their news releases. These people stretch the meaning of the words 'public service' so far that they hardly have any meaning anymore. So why should we believe they'd start acting like they give a damn about something beside themselves now?

Since it's only a 2-paragraph 'article', I'll just say that she says she out mooching again for money for;

"...the initial focus will be on lifting up organizations that are the product of the energy and activism she has seen since the election, and existing groups that have been reignited and reinvigorated by that energy."

She mentioned candidates in the 2018 elections but I don't buy that one for a minute. We all know what happens to PAC money once a Clinton gets their hands on it. And I bet the only group she's seen and cares about being energised are her die-hard supporters that can't remove their lips from her pant-suited butt. This whole thing gives me the creeps.

Anyway, am I jumping to conclusions? Am I panicking for nothing? Is this all just smoke being blown out by someone trying to keep the Clinton Creature relevant? Should I start whittling a wooden stake?

i've been of the mind she was going to run again. I just didn't think she'd be so obvious so soon. And I hate the whole thought of it. But what with the family slush fund going out of business somebody's got to go to work. All those board's that the kid's sitting on can't support them all in the style to which they've become accustomed, so to speak. I guess I'd just better start getting used to the idea that it's going to be wash, rinse, repeat. Again.

If you're not only the favorite, but the prohibitive favorite to win your party's nomination and presidency not once but twice, with the party apparatus lined up heavily behind you for years... and fail, what should that tell you?

This from the New York Daily News

I voted for Clinton on Nov. 8 and thought she’d be a good president.

But she lost. And she still wants us to feel bad about that. And, worse, she’s still blaming everyone else...

In her talk before a friendly audience, Clinton said she’s writing a memoir — and said it’s “painful” to revisit how Donald Trump beat her like a ragdoll in an election that was a lock.

Painful? We’re the ones in pain, Hillary. You’re making millions to process it. We’re the ones living it...

The American public does not want a book from Hillary Clinton. It wants an abject apology. And it wants it for free. She got what she deserved: She lost.

Now she needs to shut up and go home.

@JekyllnHyde Good to see you JnH. I had to leave the other joint, and I hear that it hasn't got any better.

On the topic: Any 2018 candidates that Clinton the Second supports will be cut from her neoliberal cloth, and likely will gum up the works for progressives running in the primaries.

You should only listen to both sides when one side isn't totally full of shit. -Jim Jefferies

On the one hand, Riegle retired after a scandal (the Keating Savings & Loan mess). Also, he began his career as a Republican, switching in 1973, supposedly over differences with Nixon on Vietnam and "the Southern Strategy."

On the other hand, he endorsed Bernie Sanders. (Riegle was Senator from Michigan, home of Flint and its unlead water).

Weicker (CT) was a Republican hated by conservatives who supported Lieberman over him. He was rated 20 points more liberal than Dodd. He switched to A Connecticut Party, then to Independent. He opposed the Vietnam and Iraq Wars.

@Amanda Matthews on what I consider the good side of issues, Republican or not. For example, Democrat or Republican, I can't fault anyone for differing with Nixon on the Vietnam War and the Southern strategy. If, on the other hand, he had worked for Joe McCarthy, I might walk away. But, these guys were Republicans who wrestled with their conscience and their conscience won.

of misdeeds the public surely knows about you (thanks WikiLeaks), and decide to run again anyway, now that's a whole other level of crazy I wouldn't want to mess with. I dare the demoncrats to clear the decks for Her in 2020 and see how long they last as a viable political party.

When I went to Political Wire before the 2016 Democratic primaries, there was a lot of support for Clinton in the comments. There were a few Bernie commenters, but they didn't get much traction. When I saw that, I never went back.

@ggersh

Joe Scarborough seem to be really upset about during Comey's testimony and this morning? Not that a woman who handled info carelessly, potentially exposing it to any hacker, almost became CIC, but that Weiner received emails to print out. Asked Weiner had read them, Comey said, "I don't think so. I think he just printed them out." Which sounded as though Comey had not even asked Weiner if he had read them.

His rationale for his exonerating Hillary sounded so incorrect and lame when he gave the statement and even worse while he was testifying. However, the questions went more to (1) passing a new bill allowing the FBI to get into any phone because, apparently, they can't already break into every phone and (2) to robbing wikileaks (and therefore others) of First Amendment protection; and (3) Anthony Weiner. They pretty much left Hillary alone.

Supposedly, Comey was furious that Petraeus got off without a felony charge. But he exonerated Hillary entirely? And Republican Senators don't seem to care about either one? Truly, truly weird and fishy.

The Clintons are like zombies, you just can't kill them. First it was Philandering Willie. Now it's the mad bomber herself, Medusa. If that's not bad enough, their Hell spawn is being talked up as the next in line. Lord help us all.

When I offer to wash your back in the shower, all you have to say is yes or no.
Not all this "who are you, and how did you get in here?" nonsense.

More like a shitton of lead balloons. Enough baggage to sink an aircraft carrier. Clintons need to retire to a quiet, modest life of prayer. Forgiveness should be their fervent desire. Not for us, but from everyone they had to fuckover to get where they are at this moment.

Fighting for democratic principles,... well, since forever

Many a former ranking democratic party member has set up shop as highly paid influencers. Seems like Obama and now Hillary/Bill are doing the same--only they are setting themselves up as their own going concerns rather than signing onto any lobbyist firm.

If this is right, which I believe it is, this means both Clinton and Obama will intercept corporate donations meant for lawmakers, governors, etc. They may dry up donations to their own not very visible campaigns.

Solidarity forever

The Hillary Victory Fund 2016 was ostensibly touted by the DNC and MSM as Hill's gift to downballot Dems in state elections. As all things Clinton, it was really a huge money-laundering scheme where 95% of the donations were returned to Clinton and just 5% went to state races. I fear that the newest iteration is the same sort of grift. Wash, rinse, repeat.
