Another nail in Monsanto's coffin?

We can only hope.
From the opinion:

Monsanto has engaged in practices that have impinged on the basic human right to a healthy environment, the right to food and the right to health. Additionally, Monsanto’s conduct has a negative impact on the right of scientists to freely conduct indispensable research.

From the article at Sustainable Pulse:

The judges also conclude that despite the development of regulations intended to protect the environment, a gap remains between commitments and the reality of environmental protection. International law should now precisely and clearly assert the protection of the environment and establish the crime of ecocide.

A non binding international tribunal announced its opinion yesterday. Its' most important finding: if there were a crime of ecocide, Monsanto would likely be guilty of it, and should certainly be prosecuted.
The story can be found at the site Sustainable Pulse.
Not a word at TOP, natch.

Two years ago the Natural Resources Defense Council filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in New York asserting the Environmental Protection Agency failed to heed warnings about the dangers to monarchs posed by glyphosate.

The real question to be answered: Does glyphosate pose a danger to monarchs and/or other living creatures (of all species)?

Too bad, so sad, we don't have a mechanism in this country for discovering an answer to this question.

@PriceRip "If at first you don't succeed, Manipulate the Data"

Unfortunately it's gotten so rampant that even "Peer-review" can't be trusted anymore, because it all depends on which peers you get to review the data.

          ... even "Peer-review" can't be trusted anymore, ...

We were having trouble (in 1979-80) getting my dissertation published. The reviewer's comments and suggestions stopped making sense after the first couple of exchanges.

I moved away to my first (and only) place of professional employment (publication pending) and two months later my mentor called. It seems that after a few minor adjustments including the addition of one particularly marginally relevant reference all concerns regarding publication magically vanished, surprise!

If not money ... then ego ...

@detroitmechworks lean on the journal to fire the scientist and replace with a stooge of your own choosing.

Oh, and the experiments better be designed to reflect the desired outcome.

area. Lots of glyphosate. Doctor who drew labs said everyone has it in their system, it's only a matter of how much exposure. The labs have adjusted their 'normal' range to include a certain amount assumed in any sample.

@LeChienHarry On my road, there was one death from an unusual cancer (my husband), one miscarriage (me, an event almost unheard of in my family, whose women are extremely healthy), at least three births of severely disabled children within a ten year period, this among about 15 families, at least one other crisis pregnancy in which the mother had to spend the last months in bed per Drs. orders. Glyphosate was much used along with a witches brew of other agricultural chemicals.

You can perhaps understand why I get irritated by the high urbanites at DK who think farm and food issues don't matter.

My Chem 101 was taught by a petrochemist in Wichita. At the time I worked for city park system and sprayed a lot of roundup. I related how areas sprayed with roundup, when the sprayed area began to grow again, would grow at about twice the rate of non-sprayed immediately adjacent. She said that makes sense since when roundup begins to break down it essentially turn into growth enhancer.
So once you begin using round up you have to keep using roundup.
