Rising (?) Democrat star can't vote for himself
Submitted by Alligator Ed on Tue, 04/18/2017 - 1:47pm
Believe it or not, the Dems have endorsed a carpet bagger (shades of the Reconstruction) to run for Dishonest Tom Price's old seat in GA. DNC must now be considered FUC (Fuck Up Central) without any doubt. After cheating Bernie Sanders out of the nomination, they've committed one mis-step after another. Now the Great White Hope Jon Ossof is challenging Repugnants in a deep red district. Problem is he doesn't live there.
I can tell from his interview that he is a Hillary clone or maybe a Lying Loretta or Duplicitous Donna clone. He refuses to give a straight answer to simple questions, posed by, of all people, a CNN reporter! It's pretty bad when one can't even lie effectively on CNN.

I would never vote for a carpetbagger
Ever. Hillary was one in NY. Look what has transpired.
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
Pffffff. Please.
My congress critter didn't live here when she ran - and won - neither. Hillary had to buy a house here to run for Senate. See! I live here! lol.

Very likely a Republicon.
If they can't run as a Repub on the Repub line, they'll just register as a Dem and run on the Dem line. Then, whoever wins the Repubs win and the Dems lose. Why can't we get anything thru Congress? Blue Dogs? No, Repubs in Dem clothing.

I believe party affiliation doesn't matter in GA
That's right
Here on the State line I hear their ads when I watch local news. He's for cutting wasteful spending and duplicate government services. Yeah right.
Jimmy Dore calls it...when democrats run as rethugicans...they always lose. This is Newt's old district centered in Cobb Co.....and you know where they keep their cob. He may make the run off, but he ain't winning there unless I miss my guess.

Standing up
Yesterday?
No, Harry Truman, May 17, 1952.
This part
of Truman's statement is so important for the 2016 election and for each day and each week since the inauguration of the new Republican president:
The advantage of having a Republican conservative president over having a Democratic conservative president is that you know what you have. Eyes and ears are open. No one is fooled. No one is asleep, drifting toward Armageddon. Instead, we know, and because we know, we may act to stop the drift, or the increasingly fast slide. At least we are awake.
It's amazing how far back politicians have been warning us
about corrupt politicians, the banks and corporations getting control of them and everything else that they are doing today. I saw a quote from a politician over a century ago. The only thing that has changed is that the graft has been getting worse and they aren't bothering to hide it anymore.
False flag events for wars started with the Maine. How long ago was that?
How long ago was he president?

He was assassinated
I can't imagine why. Crazed lone gunman, no doubt; even back then such existed.

Thanks for the quote! Although the first sentence quoted was a strong indication either that this was no recent quote or snark.
Unless this had been, of course, a Dem fundraising issue, or an attempt to break records for the inducing of spat-coffee-drenched screens/keyboards on progressive sites, lol.
I'm actually drinking tea right now - that doesn't mess up the record and attendant Guinness Book of World Records publicity, I hope? Because your use of the full quote of the fragment in such popular use really does also drive home the point that the Dems have been useless for a very long time indeed.
And that their record in recent decades is too warped out of democratic shape to any longer play even in Peoria.
Edit: naturally, I noticed a redundant word in a sentence finished following a break - after clicking 'post'... we all have traditions, I suppose... and re-edited for another redundant word (and the removal of a couple of extra codes for names). If I'd left both of them, perhaps they'd have cancelled each other out?
Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.
A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.
Friendly word of advise
@Alligator Ed
Good point, thanks! Probably best to have nothing in one's stomach at such times as well...

Pat Roberts of Kansas
just rents a barcalounger to meet residency requirements.
There is no such thing as TMI. It can always be held in reserve for extortion.
And his F'ing colleagues
allow that horse$hIt - prolly 'cuz they do the same. "Constituency? My constituency is right here in the District. We meet regularly at the Dubliner on Capitol St."
No doubt.

The Wheat State
The voters of Kansas had no more problem returning Roberts to his recliner than they did Brownback to his floor-cushion at the foot of the Koch brothers throne. Disgusting.
Sometimes I am ashamed of having been born and raised in that state. Usually not, but sometimes....
You might rethink that

[video:So does Hatch
and he ran on only being a two term senator. He basically lives in Virginia and comes to Utah during the election season.
His motto was "what do you call a senator who has been in congress for 3 terms? You call him home" I don't remember how many terms he has done, but he's thinking of running again unless Romney will run for his seat.
Gag me!
But the idiots keep electing him.

The comments from that article said the same thing
There are two reasons for why people vote for certain candidates here. One is that they are republicans and two is that they are Mormons. The church plays a big role as to who they want in office.
Our legislation is full of them and they are huge hypocrites when it comes to voting for family values. Not much difference between local and federal republicans I know, but they won't be elected if the church says no.

The returns are still coming in, but it looks like the DCCC,
TOP, Act Blue, etc. may have bought themselves a seat in the House. A mere 8.3 million dollars was poured into this race, but I think there is no danger of Ossoff doing anything a progressive would approve of, so the DNC has that going for them. /s

Before I saw Ossof interviewed, I knew he wasn't a progressive
The first that I was aware of him was when his ads began
running locally. At first he avoided mentioning his party at all. He did talk about spending cuts for "waste and abuse." It seemed to me that he could be a Dem trying to run as a conservative, and it turned out to be true. I figured that he couldn't win against a real Republican, but he had more ads than all the Republicans combined or so it seemed. He might just pull this off, with the power of the DCCC behind him.

Ossoff has been declared the winner. Some in the 6th
district will be angry that he isn't a Republican even though he'll probably vote like one. I figure that it doesn't matter either way.

Correct. He will legislate like an establishment Dem
Question of the day: when Medusa hangs it up (if ever), who will TPTB put in her place? Probably not Cory Booker since he had the effrontery to actually endorse a good bill (drug importation from Canada) which will make Big Pharma regard him as "unreliable".
Down with Tyranny and DK
are celebrating his victory today.
I don't know what to think about DWT. They have done some good reporting. OTOH, they were in full Hillaryswoon mode last autumn. Naturally they said NOTHING about Ossoff living out of district.
For what it might be worth, it looks to me like DWT is representing a faction which intends to offer a bargain to disaffected Dems, former Dems and Berniecrats. As I see it, the terms of the bargain are something like we will pull out all the stops for some form of universal health care (or at least we will promise and pretend) in return for you snowflakes shut the blank up about peace and non-interventionist foreign policy and closing overseas bases and stuff like that which Ain't Going To Happen (until grownups like Putin get fed up and force them to happen), but by then the Dem apparatchiks will have made their fortunes anyway.
Can someone tell if there was any smidgeon of a peace plan or policy in the Ossoff platform? I am guessing not.

Can someone tell if Ossof has a platform
Here is an article from The Nation
on the same election.
Worth a look.
https://www.thenation.com/article/ossoff-in-the-runoff/
I gave up on The Nation years ago, but this article makes the point that with the money that was being spent, Ossoff really should have won.
Even cheerleading Down With Tyranny was tut tutting over Ossoff's media spending as opposed to door to door canvassing.

Inspiring candidate--as in Hillary Klinton
So what's his program? I'm not Newt?
@Alligator Ed
Would it be sexist and Bernie-bro of me to make any comment relating to Hillary and people turning into newts? And, importantly, would I care?

Let me think about that for a while....
If you are both misanthropic and Bernie Bro, then you are a hermaphrodite.
Would you care? Got me.
@Alligator Ed
Well, actually, I'd really rather not be a hermaphrodite, so maybe I do care, after all. When I was converted into a Bernie Bro, I was always forgetting to put the seat up, anyway...
