Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia found dead this morning in his room at a resort in rural Texas. It appears that his death was from natural causes.
He arrived at the resort Friday. He was 79 years old, had been on the Supreme Court since 1986. There have been few details released as of this afternoon.

Thanks Granma...
we'll leave both essays up about Justice Scalia, the more the merrier. Wow, it's weird writing justice and Scalia in the same sentence.
Like Dick Cheney
I'll believe it when I see it for myself.
I couldn't believe it either.
I couldn't believe it either. That's why I dug for it in print.
The Onion's take on it:

The ruling classes need an extra party to make the rest of us feel as if we participate in democracy. That's what the Democrats are for. They make the US more durable than the Soviet Union was.
I mourn the dead
those killed indirectly and directly by Scalia's career. Those innocent people on death row and those killed in the US by gun violence.
I mourn the dead animals he killed for entertainment, like the blue grouse he was killing at the hunting lodge where he died.
I also mourn what he did to democracy in the vote for Citizens United.
To thine own self be true.
He certainly left the United States
…far shittier than he found it.
Family is refusing an autopsy
That seems strange. He died alone (or did he?). Wouldn't they want to know the exact cause of death? The official word is that he died from natural causes. No one dies from "natural causes" - that's passé.
We are in for some exciting times as Obama tries to appoint a replacement judge before his term is up. I sure hope he does break that right-wing control in the Court. The Court just blocked his action on Climate Change. Too bad Scalia was still alive for that vote.
To thine own self be true.
I think its great that his cause of death is unknown.
It could be useful.
Perhaps his death will serve as a warning in some future time.
