This email from Tulsi Gabbard (yeah! Tulsi) gab bard fort me thinking. Now reptilian brains like mine are prone to dyslexia so I incorrectly read her email.

Our outdated drug policies have wrought unspeakable damage to millions of families across our country. The War on Drugs has cost us over a trillion dollars and has swollen our prisons to the point where even as we make up roughly 4% of the world’s population, we incarcerate over 22% of the world’s prisoners. Too many of these people are locked away for nonviolent drug offenses.

I swore she said "incinerate" instead of incarcerate. Being a homeothermic critter, it took awhile for my brain to reach room temperature, at which time, after 42 readings, I discovered the mistake--or did I?

The State of Texas makes a habit of incinerating its prisoners.

Maybe we were both correct. Texas incarcerates and then incinerates--a lot cheaper than feeding and clothing the unfortunates who bounced checks or toked in plain sight.

So they got what's coming to them. Right. Eye for an eye, as you know. The proper penalty for hot checks is, as it should be, incineration. I include a picture of a Texas inmate trying to escape, alas to no good end--but an end all the same.

Peripherally related to this post is the only Democrat I'd vote for is Tulsi. Tulsi and Turner 2020!
