The Gestapo returns.

Nothing has changed.
First they came for the trade unionists. The private sector unions were decimated with regulations, neutered of rights to organize, and limited in its revenue gathering. Then the public sector unions came under attack and is some instances rendered powerless. So far, the only public unions NOT under attack are the police and fire unions. Which are the only people the ruling junta needs to complete and hold their conquest.
And no one spoke up.
Next, they came for the biggest union of them all, the Union of American States. They stripped it of its Constitution and rescinded its Bill of rights. They purchased every member of the government or installed their own puppets using multiple candidates.
And no one spoke up.
Then they came for the blacks. Demonizing them as " Super predators ". Imprisoning millions of them in custom private prisons where they are likely to never be released.
And no one spoke up.
And then they came for the immigrants. They bust down doors in the middle of the night and rip families apart and leave children without support and in some cases homeless. They were told "You do not belong in this country".
And something strange happened, nearly everyone spoke up.
But it did no good.
It's no longer our country either.

"Do you realize the responsibility I carry?

Economic: -9.13, Social: -7.28,

@Oldest Son Of A Sailor little factoid, that the PTB have NO problem arming these guys to the teeth and asking them to fire on their own fellow citizens but they'll not want to pay those pesky pensions once they're done with these cops. Just like with Veterans, there's always more money to make more, but never enough to treat the ones we've already produced.

Values war igniting between California leadership and Trump

... With or without a Trump presidency, Speaker Rendon said California already faces many “problems of democracy” including housing costs, poverty levels and transportation needs. “All of these problems point to a lack of civic engagement.” Rendon blamed both the media and elected officials for not listening enough to average citizens. “President Trump and his language don’t help with that. We have to be better listeners.”

Concerned about Trump’s challenges against a “sanctuary” movement to protect immigrants, de Leon warned, “there is no magical force shield or safe zone.” He urged California’s elected leaders and the working press to not worry about alienating Trump. “Our role must be to support our values,” he said.

De Leon is sponsoring legislation (SB 54) he is calling the California Values Act. In part it would prohibit local law enforcement agencies from supporting federal immigrant deportation efforts. De Leon’s bill would also make public schools, hospitals and courthouses safe havens for California residents, regardless of immigration status.

Sonoma County Sheriff Steve Freitas meets with Attorney General Jeff Sessions

Freitas, who was not quoted in media reports about the meeting, declined to comment on what his peers said.

He did say that cooperating with other law enforcement agencies — including ICE — benefits public safety. He does not support a sanctuary policy that bars any collaboration.

“It would be irresponsible for me as sheriff to not come get a seat at the table and see if there will be changes and how we can work together to make our communities safe,” Freitas said. “That’s why I came to this conference.”

Nearly everyone spoke up about illegal immigrants but nobody spoke up for our own black citizens as their communities were destroyed, their jobs were outsourced or filled by illegal immigrants, they were being gunned down and oppressed by police, and a permanent, desperate underclass was created.

Very sad indeed.

@edg I agree with your comment, except for the portion which I have struck out. If illegal immigrants are taking away jobs from blacks, I would like to see a reference please because this is the first time I have heard of this. Generally, I believe that illegal immigrants are working in seasonal or temporary jobs in which they cannot be tracked.

@edg legal or illegal. If the uber wealthy would just pay their fair share of taxes we could put all back to work rebuilding our infrastructure and catapulting a new energy sector (renewable) across the nation and the world.
The money hoarders are THE problem.

Neither Russia nor China is our enemy.
Neither Iran nor Venezuela are threatening America.
Cuba is a dead horse, stop beating it.

@earthling1 Given your if and given history, things won't change. Therefore, we need to make the best of the situation, and having our fellow black citizens out of work is not a good situation.
