What are we doing in Syria?

I found this video after watching a clip of it on the Jimmy Dore show. The main speaker is Eva Bartlett, a Canadian journalist. Her portion starts at about 13:30. I'm sure this is too far out of the mainstream to get any media attention but I would like to know if there are any other sources to corroborate this information.

They are all from different organizations. Eva is a dedicated independent journalist. She is self-funded and self employed.

The panel corroborates Eva's testimony. The speaker at 40:40 states what everyone at the UN knows about the horrors the dying Neocon empire of the US is delivering to sovereign nations in its final days. It is all very matter of fact.

While Hillary and Christopher Stephens were still busy working with the CIA and running guns from Benghazi to al Qaeda in Syria — in order to stage the overthrow of Assad on behalf of Saudi Arabia and Qatar — I was active in trying to stop this atrocity before it began. One could not appeal to Americans because they had no idea what was going on anywhere in the Middle East. After the Benghazi attack against the foreign imperialists in their midst, the duopoly-partisan-kabuki-media out of DC shut down the brains of all Americans completely, with Victim-Hillary's help. She immediately left the State Department and devoted herself full time to being the Victim-of-Benghazi, while wiping her server and helping the CIA and State classify everything she did there. Meanwhile, the Republican members of the temporarily-elected-Federal-government pretended to investigate Benghazi, which they knew had been entirely classified by their Overlords in the CIA. It was all partisan fight-cage kabuki. The day Republicans discovered documents from Hillary's private server, was the Benghazi hearings ended. Now, they could further their political powers while thoroughly manipulating the American electorate, leading them down a new pointless road that came to a dead end. Even here, they could not be talked out of this obvious distraction. In all that the People learned nothing about what the US is doing in the Middle East, or on whose behalf they are sacrificing their standard of living.

Why not listen to the people of Syria and their democratically elected President? They have newspapers and magazines. Who better to corroborate Eva's testimony? They are among the only witnesses who are not paid to lie and kill or who benefit from stealing Syria's land and oil.

Get on Facebook and search for Eva Bartlett and Vanessa Beeley facebook page. Click on "Follow" and you'll get more Syrian / Palestine reports than you can read. Been following the exploits of the "white helmets" (fake Syrian civil defense org). It's a lot of info and if you're not use to receiving a lot of facebook posts, it could be a little overwhelming...

This is a long article about our history in Syria, but at the end of it, Robert lays out why we are trying to overthrow Assad.

Pluto's comment is excellent especially the part about the kabuki theater of the Benghazi hearings. I too noticed that no one asked Hillary what was happening at the embassy the night of the attack, but of course the republicans knew what the CIA and the state department were doing.
We aren't even spending billions in Syria for our own self interests but so that Saudi Arabia and Qatar can build a pipeline.
The other reason for destroying so many countries in the Middle East is to make Israel the remaining superpower.
Funny how Israel hasn't sent any of its sons and daughters to fight and die like Americans have.
And of course Americans believe that our troops are defending our freedoms but don't know that our troops are fighting alongside Al Qaida. The same group that they fought against during the Iraq war. If I had lost a family member in that war and found that out, I'd be royalty pissed!
There are many good websites that have covered the Syrian war, but I like counterpunch and you can easily search their archives to find articles explaining the war.
Try to read Joe's evening blues.
He covers what is happening and after I read those articles, I hit that site's homepage and read more articles.

One point to remember about the KSA-Qatar pipeline is that it was designed to put Russia out of the gas business, as the gulf states would supply Europe instead.

In a nutshell, the whole point of US foreign policy in Syria was to depose the legitimate government, and back jihadi head-hunters to do it. Once in power, these thugs would slaughter minorities, etc, but they would also approve the pipeline, and shove a stick in Russia's eye. Our government figured that trading the lives of Alawites, Christians, Druze, Kurds and other minorities would be a good trade, if Russia got screwed and Qatar made money.

I hope we are finally finished with neocon foreign policy.

Syria: Moral Quicksand: Samantha Power’s Temper Tantrum

What stood out most during the verbal broadside unleashed by Washington’s ambassador to the United Nations, Samantha Power, at her Iranian, Syrian and Russian counterparts over the fighting in Aleppo, was her ability to do so with a straight face. It was testament to the ability of US exceptionalism to keep its proponents cocooned from reality.

“Aleppo will join the ranks of those events in world history that define modern evil, that stain our conscience decades later. Halabja, Rwanda, Srebrenica, and, now, Aleppo,” Power said, from the vantage point of a moral high ground resting on foundations of quicksand.

Rather conveniently, the US Ambassador neglected to add Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, or Libya to her list, countries ravaged and destroyed in service to US and Western imperialism. Or how about Gaza and Yemen, where Israel and Saudi Arabia, Washington’s closest Middle East, have engaged in the mass slaughter of civilians? Yes, there was no mention of that either by Ms Power.

When it comes to Aleppo’s suffering, the scenes of celebration by thousands of its citizens over their liberation refutes the attempt by Power and others in the West to paint the Syrian Arab Army, made up of soldiers from every sector of the country’s religious, ethnic, and cultural mosaic, as a latter day Waffen SS, an army of occupation executing women and children at random. At the same time, of course, Salafi-jihadist groups such as the Nusra Front (now Jabhat Fatah al-Sham) and Jaysh al Islam have been painted as the modern day equivalent of the French resistance or Partisans.

~snip~

This is not to allege that there was not a movement for reform in Syria back in 2011, inspired by an Arab Spring that had swept across the region demanding democratic and political change. And this is not to suggest that the Syrians who supported this movement did not have any legitimate grievances with their government. But there is a marked difference between reform and ruin, and it is the latter course upon which this movement embarked when it was taken over by Salafi-jihadists intent on the mass slaughter and extermination of the country’s minorities.

Samantha Power knows all this, of course; she knows it but chooses to ignore it, favoring instead moral tirades of the sort she unleashed at the UN against those who are fighting to save yet another Arab country from the fate of the sectarian abyss fashioned in Riyadh and supported by Washington as a lesser evil when compared to a secular Arab state that refuses to kowtow to its writ.

In the last analysis, being lectured to by a representative of Washington on human rights violations and war crimes is like being told to sit up straight by the Hunchback of Notre Dame.
