Bipartisan Ramping Up The Fear - Yet A Bloody Again.

America under siege.

Two leading Republican voices on foreign policy in the Senate, John McCain and Lindsey Graham, joined two Democratic senators on Sunday in expressing concern over the reports on Russian interference and saying it could not become a partisan issue.

“For years, foreign adversaries have directed cyber attacks at America’s physical, economic, and military infrastructure, while stealing our intellectual property,” the senators, including Democrats Chuck Schumer and Jack Reed, said in a statement.

“Now our democratic institutions have been targeted. Recent reports of Russian interference in our election should alarm every American.”

Blaming Russia 2016 has become a bipartisan effort, well I suppose it takes the mind off the economic pillage going on by the 0.01%

In 2008 and 2012 it was China.

The War on Terror and the War on Drugs are obviously insufficient now the Cold War has to be ramped up again, as if not enough misery and carnage has been caused by the political elites foreign policy so far. Trump is not changing this one iota, asset stripping and wars go hand in hand.

Once again fear will be used to bludgeon support for our foreign adventures and allow the CIA to act for our own "safety" by the same old nefarious and disgusting tactics they have always employed. After all "we" pardoned our nation's bombing of hospitals, bombing of weddings, murder, torture, pre-emptive war and occupation. War crimes we don't do them well at least "we" pardon ourselves if "we" do, keep looking forward.

The best fiction has some truth to it, then it is easy to amplify into patriotic paranoia. Re: The Middle East Fiasco and others will suffer far more than ourselves from the impending further chaos.

Again it is becoming evident that many [partizan's included] on both sides of that fictive aisle see profit in ramping up the volume until reality is lost in the noise. Forget about climate change, income inequality and embrace the fear of the other. Forget about the war crimes, "we" are at war with the world.

Heaven forbid talking to our "enemies", because if we do, we in turn become the enemy. Such is the bludgeoning logic of the political partisan.

The politics of fear and loathing.

God, it makes me want to puke.

bi-partisan when there's only the Ruling Party with two names. (The Binomial Party?)

If McCain, Graham & Schumer are for something, then my inclination is to look in the other direction.

Those in charge of the political economy have had as their policy to scare the American public and keep us scared. Do that, and they can get away with anything. It's worked since the Truman Doctrine.

They both rabidly anti-Russian. McCain talks about the Russians the same way Trump talks about Mexicans and Muslims. By pushing the Russian connection, they hope to derail any sort of detente with Russia.

Seriously - when did detente become something not wanted. What happened to honest, genuine, win/win ( as Bucky Fuller would have said) diplomacy.

What is this paranoia about Russia. It was 60 years ago, but I swear I can still hear the call to "duck & cover" - from my third grade classroom. It was a "test" for when we "needed" to really do it. At least we could laugh in 2001 when told to make sure we had duct tape & plastic to cover our windows. Maybe it was only those of us living in Washington DC who were told to do that? This Russia phobia is just as crazy now. Except makes me cry instead of laugh...when we we ever learn?

Why aren't they redoing the election? Surely, if Russia interfered in our election, that would mean the results are invalid, and that we should redo the whole thing using unhackable pieces of paper, right?

Unless of course, there was no Russian interference at all. Or unless Russia only manipulated the people's vote, and not the electoral college, and the people's vote actually has no impact whatsoever on the election of a president.

But it's easier to just blame Russia while providing no evidence than it is to call for a redo or to admit to one of the other two, so I guess we'll be hearing about how shitty the US is at monitoring its own electoral process for, I don't know, the 2-4 year before we invite Russia to nuke the west coast?

Hey, that'd actually be a major win for BOTH parties!

I keep seeing people talk about how Russia hacked our election, or at least interfered with it. So who are these agents that Russia has all around our nation? Surely Trump didn't single-handedly rig all those machines and manipulate the votes just enough to swing the electoral college his way. He'd have to be one hell of a super spy to pull that off.

Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.

A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.

it is possible the Clintons still have their claws sunk deep in government and the power structure, because this still reeks of the blame game.

One wonders how much that will change after the inauguration, assuming we get there.

who said something like when you hear 'bipartisan' you know they're up to something especially nasty?

Also evidently a great excuse for stripping all remaining rights from The People they can utterly dispossess, censor and otherwise repress in any fashion they choose, even prior to officially (since Bush sorta did anyway, for perpetuity, under the dream of perpetual 'war' against the world, apparently until life's eradication is complete,) its declaring martial law, in an expansion of what the cheated-in directly-corporate-rep-formed Bush Admin began. They have no compunction about destroying the world in the taking of it, because they believe that they can create their own personal alternate realities and make them somehow reality they will survive in, finally secure in the knowledge that nobody else has anything else and that there's almost nobody else left anyway.
