It isn't pollution that's harming the environment. It's the impurities in our air and water that are doing it.
~Dan Quayle~
Today humanity is another day closer to extinction.
As the new government forms, I can not help feeling that turbulent times are upon us, and are here to stay. The potential damage will take decades to repair and I do not think humanity is in a state that can withstand systemic shock.
I used to work in process control and know better than to shake things up, just for the sake of shaking things up. Once a process is out of control, there is no telling what will happen.
The packing of the new administration with authoritarian militarists and right wing ideologues is potentially cataclysmic.
Funkit, I think I will placate myself with a trip to nirvana.
Don't let it dog you. Have a great weekend!

Snow is falling, less accumulation than I feared. Maybe 2", more every day now. It does add up. An inch a day over a week is a plowing incident for my driveway, twice. His trigger is 3".
Today is the day of my cottage sale in Canada. Monday I can begin to repatriate Canadian $$, more to work on to avoid the 25% capital gains (sale-purchase). I had to hire a Canadian accountant to deal with that; the sums of payouts to realtors/attorneys/septic pump-outs, etc is shocking. I will get a tax identification number in Canada, and never have to use it again. Weight is lifting off my shoulders; this has been a series of headaches since my husband died. My kids had no interest and it would have had negative financial impacts on them at inheritance. Better to clean that up in case I die tomorrow. Sad leaving there, some happy times, one dog's ashes scattered there, plus a majority of my husband's cremains (his in the Seaway, dog's in a circle around the cottage). A Day of Reverence and Remembrance.
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
Good Morning RL

one thing about the hair pulling....
and screaming about T-rump is that the left is united. It is plain to see the ugly face of our country instead of pretending everything is just great (as the hypocritical left has done with Obomber). My hope is that as the T-rump disaster unfolds, people will stand up and fight back.
One of the talking heads suggested a week or so ago that the young people are not going to stand by and let T-rump destroy the climate and the environment. We'll see.
I hope you all have a good weekend!

I think that Trump's approach
to building his cabinet is best mirrored by Prince Nico Mbarga's approach to tuning his guitar (not to mention his choice of wardrobe).
He went to a school where they only taught those things once per year, and he was out sick that day. (;-)
Stay warm, everybody!

*Nice!*
A little Tuvan throat singing with Bela Fleck in the spirit of the season, then!
Morning Tim,
I think the Trump admin is going to be a logical extension of Clinton/Bush/Obama admins, taking the oligarchy's agendas to another level like the previous three did. Bad news.
But the protests, push back whatever happens can't be about Trump, they have to be about this political system.
Yep
After the care giver gig, I will be hitting the streets. Activism to stay young and emerge from sequestration.

Good morning, Tim~~~
De-population is the meme. Let's hope the millennials know how to stand strong and united against this system. I have hope.

The current working assumption appears to be that our Shroedinger's Cat system is still alive. But what if we all suspect it's not, and the real problem is we just can't bring ourselves to open the box?

Hey Tim, thanks. Be safe.
