Mnuchin to Treasury. Keep draining that swamp, Donald.

Looks like being chief financial officer of Trump's campaign is going to pay off for Steven Mnuchin. He's a former Goldman Sachs guy. Plus, any guy who can own his own hedge fund, his own bank and profit from a housing collapse outta be able to run Treasury. Whooo,
http://money.cnn.com/2016/11/29/news/economy/donald-trump-steven-mnuchin...
The article says that he could be officially named as as Trump's man in Treasury as early as tomorrow. I hope they're wrong, but then again, it's not Jamie Dimon. I don't know much about this guy Mnuchin, but he seems to have been on board early with Trump. Also seems like he's a member in good standing of that club that George Carlin talked about. The one that we're not in.

They all are in the same club
Only the face at the top changes, but nothing else will. Remember Hope and Change? It was a cruel joke. Now the entire country is a cruel joke.
Do I hear the sound of guillotines being constructed?
“Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." ~ President John F. Kennedy
I believe that this is Trump's 3rd or 4th billionaire
nominee to his Cabinet. Champion of the working man. And you're right our nation is a cruel joke and the laughingstock of the entire world. For God's sake, Trump's proposed Sec of HHS wants to get rid of Medicare, one the most efficient healthcare delivery systems in the world and replace it with....a voucher system. Or as my French significant other said...a vulture system. And this is only the beginning.

Yep. And they're reall billionaires as well
How cool is that!

The election of Trump was a big FU to the establishment
by the people, according to Michael Moore.
I guess the election of Trump is now the responding FU to the people FROM the establishment.
You're right, gulfgal, only the top faces change
after an election. The power who actually run the government have been in charge of the government probably since Kennedy was killed.
The first American CIA coup.
This is a great article explaining the Deep State and the organizations who are in it.
But they don't only work in the USA, but they also pick other countries leaders.
It's a world wide oligarchy and the banks are also running the show.
Remember how they have been involved in both WWs and most other wars.
Hillary answered Blankenfein with"yes a no fly zone will kill a lot of people" but what was his question?
This was from one of the chats she had with the banks when she was paid $250,000. So it's obvious that she wasn't only talking about financial matters.
There were problems with running a campaign of Joy while committing a genocide? Who could have guessed?

"the banks are running the show"
That about sums it up. Many of Trump's appointees have connections to Goldman Sachs. What about Trump's government is anti-establishment? It's the top tier 1% he is appointing.
See the documentary on Netflix "Goldman Sachs: The Bank That Runs the World."
To thine own self be true.
I don't think Trump is the one appointing people
He's being told who to appoint by people behind the scenes just like Podesta told Obama who to put in his cabinet.
I think Pence might be the one running the show with help from his friends.
There have been articles saying that Pence is going to be more powerful than Cheney was and Pence is even more wacky then Cheney was.
I'm saying it again.
TPTB put Trump in office to remove almost every regulation, social programs and privatize everything that can be privatized.
That and to divide this country even more than it is now.
While we're fighting each other, the never ending wars will continue, the police will become more belligerent and the banks will become bigger.
What I'm trying to say is in this article and I hope people will read it.
The worst is yet to come.

Totally OT, but...
All I can hear when thinking of the future U.S. is this song:
[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HUWUtTZvK4]
Yes, I do think we will be the bad guys in the future stories that will be told about history.
That is NOT a cheery thought. I don't want to be one of the few "Good Guy" Americans while the future has a stereotype as awful as monstrous Romans, or Out of touch British Oppressors.
Half tempted to write a future novel as a cautionary tale.

Expect a lot of outrageous tweets from Trump
Over the next 4 years. To distract us and keep us fighting each other, like idiots, while we're being used and abused.
Beware the bullshit factories.
Mnuchin
Joined Goldman Sachs at 22 years old. His dad was a partner. That must have been a tough interview, hmm? He worked there from 22 to 40 yrs old.
Lots of bad news in the linked article. Another shady dude it sounds like to me.
Oh, he is a movie producer too:
Thanks, HD.
In 2010, he produced, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps

It was Eli Wallach's last movie.
Beware the bullshit factories.
I cannot believe some of the people still backing Trump.
Not here, other blogs and writers that you'd think would know better. They get so caught up in this republican vs democrat, liberal vs conservative, Clinton vs Trump hatred that they can't see the cognitive dissonance they're displaying. These are people who have railed long and hard against the oligarchy, the plutocracy, war and imperialism, crimes against humanity, etc. and now, many because of their hatred for Clinton and liberals and many because they actually believe Trump, that are not seeing what they should.
All it takes is to take a good look at his appointments, just like it did with Obama, just like it did with Bush, just like it did with Clinton.
It is absolutely the same damn thing only worse.
They think it's the Superbowl...
Except they conveniently leave out the fact that every other team was forced to play the playoffs in shackles, while simultaneously scraping together enough money to even get on the field.
I do not pretend I know what I do not know.
Hatred is so non-productive
Looking ahead at what's in store needs a strategy. We should all be so busy thinking about that there would be no time for bitterness and hatred. Time to look ahead even though the future looks dire. We need a plan. How are the best minds going to handle this?
Recently I read that some cities and states are going to go ahead with a their plans to mitigate climate change, no matter what the Trump climate deniers do. It's time for resistance.
To thine own self be true.
Good message, bad messaging.
Looking Forward is exactly what got us into this mess.
The American public's refusal to deal with the sins of the past allows the perpetrators to continue poisoning the well so that any forward progress is at the very minimum dampened and at the worst, Totally eliminated.
You can't build a structure on top of a rotten foundation.
I do not pretend I know what I do not know.
We don't need to build anything, it's already here
the resistance. But keep on talking about last year's candidate.
To thine own self be true.
Far from draining the swamp...
Trump and friends will be creating a toxic inland sea.
And we tried to tell the Hillbots that their candidate wasn't up to the task (shakes head).
It's a brave new world out there.

We did try to warn them
But everything we wrote was considered right wing talking points no matter where they came from.
Bernie ran on the platform that the DP used to stand for and Clinton ran on the Bush platform.
Look at how many times she said she'd create a no fly zone over Syria which as she told Blankenfein would kill a lot of the Syrian people. That was an answer to a question he had asked her. Why were the bank CEOs asking Hillary about the Syrian war? We know the answer to that.
Wasn't the reason for the invasion was to protect people from Assad? Funny how killing people and destroying their country is protecting them , just like shock and awe protected them from the bombings.
But people actually believe that the troops are defending this country and our freedoms.
Do they ever bother to ask how terrorists could take away our freedoms?
I keep reading that the troops gave us the freedoms to drink at Starbucks and say whatever we want.
Not one war has been to defend our freedoms in over a century or more. I know that because Smedley told us that.
Besides, what freedoms do we have left after congress passed all those acts?
There were problems with running a campaign of Joy while committing a genocide? Who could have guessed?

We still can buy large magazine, rapidfire weapons.
Which I find darkly humorous.
Galatians 6:7 comes to mind.
I do not pretend I know what I do not know.
Niggling points maybe...
but that graphic would be a lot more effective if the work "they" wasn't used three times, especially as the third one is ambiguous as to which "they" is being referred to.
Maybe "Americans were told..." would help clarify the message which could be quire strong.

I took it as a double
I took it as a double entendre...
Edit to clarify: meaning the 'they' who hate your freedoms were presented as being a different 'they' than those who were saying so, in order that what was the same 'they' in all cases could take your freedoms under the pretense of 'putting them somewhere safe, just for now' and forever out of your reach. Which is exactly what happened. 'They' do project enough in their accusations of others to be entirely predictable.
Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.
A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.
And how many people voted for Obama instead of Hillary because
of her Iraq war vote? Sure she said that she had made a mistake voting for it, but she didn't seem to learn anything from that mistake because she pushed for more troops in Afghanistan, pushed for the Libyan and the Syrian wars.
Plus they remembered the horrible billion that Bill passed with her help which set up the global economic crisis.
They then were willing to overlook all those things and vote for her instead of the candidate that ran on democratic values because they said that he couldn't win.
Of course he couldn't if people didn't vote for him.
How did that work out for them?

Nice to Know That Businessmen
Who have no understanding of GAAP or GASB (generally accepted accounting principles, Gov't Audit Standards) are selected for the Treasury who not only doles out the gov't premiums, but control the IRS too. Yep, let business run the govrmunt. And the winter of our discontent hasn't even started.
