How To Link Footnotes in Articles

Submitted by PriceRip on Wed, 11/16/2016 - 3:43pm

I tried to link footnotes within the structure of a comment, that failed. So now I want to see if linking footnotes within an article will work. If I fail I will write a note

Blog Writer Tip-Of-The-Day

This code <a href="#FootNote01">Word1</a> allows the reader the opportunity to read your footnote without scrolling down to it. Using this strategy allows the reader to "click" back to their point of departure. This all relieves stress and creates a happier reader.

This code <a href="#FootNote01" target="new">Word1</a> allows the reader the opportunity to read your footnote in a new window. When done the reader may choose to close that new window or to simply activate the original window. If the reader goes for the second option any subsequent "FootNote" clicks will overwrite the new window.

Happy coding, my friends.

Love it! Multiple thanks.

But raises the question - In this forum, how does one bookmark or save a specific comment or essay to be reviewed at a later time?

Phoebe...

I'll be doing some work on c99p the next week or two and I'll add some kind of hot listing feature.

In the meantime you can simply bookmark an essay in your browser bookmarks/favorites. You can bookmark an individual comment the same way by clicking the comment title and then bookmark the page it takes you to.

Thanks JtC!

That would be a valuable feature that would get a lot of use by many, I would bet.

Excellent PriceRip...

I'll add this to the FAQs with a hat tip to yourself.

Thanks!

Thanks for the Latin review. Mrs Cropper, teacher, RIP

would probably still have complaints.

Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.

Sure, but lorem ipsum is pseudo-Latin text,

(Edit: Real Words, Fake Text) I would expect Mrs. Cropper, RIP to have expressed very many complaints if I were to pretend otherwise. I use lorem ipsum to pre-visualize formatting when using LaTeX. I would like it better if it would display as half uncial, my favorite, then it would really look authentic.
