Bernie's delegates were spied on by Clinton

In a May email released by DC Leaks, Marlon Marshall, the director of states and political engagement for the Hillary Clinton campaign, forwarded two documents to several top Clinton staffers. One of these was a spreadsheet of detailed information about several Bernie Sanders supporters and Sanders delegates. This was described as part of a “Unity Check” for the Democratic Party.

“Second doc is the research we have on Bernie delegates to date,” wrote Marshall. “This is more of a FYI for everyone so you can see the type of information we are gathering.”

The amount of research, background and personal data the Clinton campaign gathered and circulated among its staff is disturbing. The email reveals they conducted research on Sanders delegates, monitored their social media accounts and graded them on how susceptible they would be to defecting from Sanders to Clinton.

This is disturbing but unsurprising. They were revoking credentials during the convention. They also wouldn't let Nina Turner introduce Sanders.

It was a filthy, dirty campaign. Anyone who supported Sanders has every right to still be pissed off about it.

who led the effort and owed something to those who tirelessly worked for him. Maybe he thinks the Democratic party can be saved. Maybe he thinks there's some money and power in it for him. Maybe neither, but I think he and his advisers should have done more in the face of unethical treatment from the Clinton camp.

He should have done a lot more about the rigging, cheating, and mistreatment his supporters were enduring. I think the simplest explanation is he didn't want to be blamed for this train wreck. I'm glad to see him pushing hard to change the party now, but I think it's too little too late in a lot of ways.

Sanders was mistaken in taking the path he chose. He's an Independent who chose to run as a Democrat and he could have made that point and used his independence - in an independent year - to lay the groundwork for an effective movement. In the end he got nothing for the working men and women and whatever he has been promised personally is not enough, in my opinion.

There is also a theory that he ran to spread his message, believing at first that he had no shot at all at winning. By the time he thought he might be viable, it was too late. That kind of explained for me a lot of things I had had questions about early on, but, as I recall, that theory did not resonate with you (or with a number of other 99ers).

Sanders. told Chuck Todd he had run as a Democrat because he (Sanders) knew the media would not cover him otherwise. Ironic, huh?

Given Stein's performance, even Nader's, there is a question whether Bernie would have made it to the debate stage running as an indie. Hard to know.

I cannot believe anyone would question Sander's decision to run as a Democrat at all. (Although one can argue he should've gone rogue after the primary was stolen, but that's a separate question.)

comes mainly from Jim Hightower who traveled with the senator and encountered turnaway crowds very early on. Crowds the size Clinton never could, or did, draw. Sanders should have realized that the movement would grow quickly and he got corroboration with the donations began to flood in.

He could have headed the Green Party - I think the top spot was offered him - and got it above the 5% for ballot access and 15% for the debates(think that's what I read about the debates). I don't buy his explanation for his loyalty to Clinton - she was a horrid candidate with a horrid record.

Aside from Hightower and a couple of reports in the leftist magazines, I had nothing else to base my posts on except for the deteriorating economic conditions for the working class and Sanders' support for $15/hr.

At the same time, I'm starting to think he played his cards exactly right.

Look at what's happening now. All the shows/networks want him. He's advocating for Ellison over Dean, and people like Schumer are jumping on board. He can now freely post on social media about how he's disgusted that the Democratic party has stopped listening to working-class families like the one he came from -- and getting the same passionate responses he did when he was running.

In retrospect, I don't think he could have done this had he not put on the show of being a "good Democrat" and lining up behind HRC. (I never believed he was sincere when he did this; and I didn't take his advice to fill in that oval for her. And I'm pretty sure he knew that his campaign had exposed enough of the rot that most of his supporters wouldn't buy it, either). Anyway, had he not been as gracious or gone rogue/third-party, I think he would have been summarily dismissed by the media and everyone else following the election, even if Trump had still won. Now, he has a decent shot at actually reforming the party, in concert with groups like Brand New Congress. I think people are listening. And I think this includes other party Democrats, because what power do the Clintons hold over them now? None.

(Just thinking out loud) ...

articles about Sander's latest speeches or press releases you'll fine one comment trait. Half say they don't believe a word he says anymore. I was on OPED news today and there were people angry about having donated to him and they all said the same thing. Bernie threw away a lot of good will and TRUST when he went to the Dark Side.

What you left out is that he would have sacrificed his seniority in leadership - Schumer told him flat out before the convention that if he didn't toe the line he would not have the roll he wanted in the Senate (at least that was the popular speculation about what transpired at that meeting - Bernie capitulated within a few days as I recall).

rise in the Democratic party will lead to something good, but I have no faith in it. It's nothing to do with Sanders, one way or the other: the party is far too corrupt to be changed by one person.

As far as "being summarily dismissed by the media and everyone else following the election"--well, the media summarily dismissed him throughout the campaign, and he still ended up drawing record crowds everywhere, and, even despite the rigging, won 23 states and territories and Democrats Abroad. I'm not sure the media summarily dismissing him after the campaign would have mattered much. I mean, is it really better that people like Chris Hayes and Chuck Todd and other corporate media folks are now kissing his ass where a few months ago they were shitting all over him? You're right that he had to kiss Hillary's ass in order to get the media to kiss his, but where's the progress in that for the country?

I doubt very much whether "everyone else" (not the media) would have summarily dismissed him had he not endorsed Hillary. Since she ended up being the most unpopular candidate in American history (at least that we know of) I doubt that Americans would dismiss Sanders because he DIDN'T kiss her ass.

And the reason I keep using that phrase is that he didn't just endorse her: he traveled the land telling lies about how progressive she was and all the things from his agenda that she would do--which we, and he, knew she damned well wouldn't.

Despite all this, I still like Bernie, but as far as I can tell, he's basically inside the Democratic party's digestive system now. He thinks he'll be able to change it from in there. He'll be fighting not only the Clintons, but also the Bushes, who are their allies, and, more importantly, their donors both foreign and domestic. I wish him well, but am pretty sure that the end result will be more co-optation of Sanders than reform of the party.

people like Shrum and Shields started bloviating about how the nomination was Hillary's if she wanted it. If she chose to go for it, no Democrat would even challenge her. Right then, I knew. So, while I knew pent up thirst for change was strong, I also knew what a candidate would be up against. However, I did want Americans to hear him, no matter what, so I began knocking myself out once he announced he was exploring the possibility of running. However, given all the questions and frustrations I had early on, I can believe he was not running to win initially.

Ah, well. whatever the truth was, it's over.

However we know the exact opposite is true...
The Hillary Clinton Campaign and DNC Proposal To Give Us President Donald Trump

I have often said that I thought the "Meeting With Bubba" before deciding to run, may have also been a plot where the Clinton's and Trump conspired to run, decimating the Republicans in the primary and leaving them in disarray for and easy victory in the general election. I don't think Trump really intended to win either but the exit strategy of his hate speech backfiring and causing his withdrawal failed to materialize and strengthened him. Now he's railing against putting his assets in a blind trust and having to live in the white house... Poor Don!

Really the Democratic Party needs to Kick New Democrats to the curb, getting rid of the NeoLiberalism Third Way, to become anything viable again. The morals & ethics of the once proud working class party has been corrupted into a cesspool of the most vile pay for play, government for sale, being the norm we've ever seen. Sanders opened our eyes to the men & women behind the curtain, and this will never be acceptable to the electorate again...

Whether it can be done is the question. I believe many of the Sanders supporters while they feel the effort to reform the democratic party is indeed a good move, will remain "Burned" by the support of Hillary in the general election, rather than splitting off running as an independent or, taking the offered top spot on the Green Party Ballot. These voters at least a good portion of them will remain supportive, but on the outside looking in cautiously...

I do think that Sanders is in a fairly powerful position to reform the democratic party, the only question is how much resistance the New Democrats will throw up against his efforts. Quite frankly the movers and shakers of the New Democrats involved in the Machiavellian Practices against the Left Liberal Progressive wing of the party need to step down from any position of power in the party even down to the state and local level... They aren't fit to select or, run as a candidate for dogcatcher or trash collector...

These will haunt them for the rest of our lives, and while most are too stupid to realize yet what has happened, these e-mails will redefine the Democratic party. Soon enough, they'll be rushing for the exits to distance themselves from anyone or anything that had anything to do with 2016.

to business as usual, as if the Democratic party had hit a slight bump, when the only hope the Democrats actually have is Trump. If he's terrible enough, in a couple of years, maybe America will forget that the incredibly corrupt Democratic party tried to force Hillary Clinton down their throats, and backed them into a corner where they had to choose between her and Donald Trump. Maybe they'll forget that it was an election cycle so bad, and so stressful, that the American Psychological Association made a statement about how to deal with the stress, because so goddamned many people were going to therapists about the election! Maybe they'll forget the voter purges, the shitty condescending trolls, the cheating at the caucuses, the constant lying; maybe they'll forget how the Democrats spent most of the cycle doing character attacks on the voters, attempting to shame people into voting for Hillary, and either demonizing them or sneering at them when they wouldn't. Maybe they'll forget how Hillary was repeatedly put above the law.

Get to work, Donald, we need you to rehabilitate the Democratic party. Get that corpse on its feet and moving around, Dr. Frankenstein.

Bernie was interviewed a number of times before he announced his candidacy. He specifically addressed the question of whether he would run as a Democrat or independent and he said, and I am sure he was being honest, that the deck was stacked against independent candidates so much that he considered, but ruled out, that possibility. I think he was hoping to be nominated, but was expecting to be able to bring his message to a lot of people. He did better than he expected, because his message resonated with so many. However, he had not been running for President for the past 20 years as HRC has been and his organization was much smaller and less developed. It is amazing that he did so well and he would probably have won had the primaries been conducted fairly and the votes counted correctly. Note that there have been independent candidates that have captured a lot of attention and votes over the past few decades (Anderson, Perot) and nothing is left of their movements. As to why he didn't call out HRC and the DNC over their dirty tricks and possible electoral fraud. I think he was simply terrified of a Trump Presidency (with good reason) and did not want to do anything to hinder the election of HRC as bad as she is.

if hill, the DNC and other organizations hadn't cheated.
Hillary got all those delegates committed to her before she announced her candidacy.
A poster here wrote about all the things she did to set up her win in 2015 while she was still getting paid to give speeches which is against the election rules. I will try to find that .
Then there are the shenanigans that the DNC did with the debates, ect.
And who had the opportunity to kick people off voting rolls and change their party affiliations that would have voted for him? This happened in all 50 states,so who had the power and connections to do that? If those people would have been allowed to vote for Bernie, he'd have won, IMO.
Then both bill and Hillary went to voting places and especially Bill's secret service details delayed people from getting inside to vote. Bill was inside at least one voting place which is also against the election laws.
The Nevada caucus when the vote happened 30 minutes before scheduled and his people were still trying to get in the room.
The exit polls not squaring with the vote tallies.
And then the number of super delegates that voted for Hillary.
Looking at the number of people at his rallies compared to hers is another giveaway that the election was stolen from him, but just as importantly US!

Our childish "Winner takes all" approach to voting means the duopoly stays entrenched until all states go for ranked voting and we see the shift in the congress to have a more than 2 party set of representatives and senators to share the burdens in such a way that 3rd party members can make or break a tie and also avoid this childish 'shutting the government down" with the expectation to tantrum and still get ice cream attitude I have seen.

with more parties involved, and not marginalized as is the case now, we would wind up with more choices, more information, and maybe a better state of affairs in governance! GASP! that might make the established parties lose their jobs! I feel that would be about time!

Bernie would have been the choice to go up against Trump had they at the DNC not played the games they had.

If there is one aspect of the election that I thought was rigged was the performance of the 3rd parties. I posted quite a few validating the links to the spying on delegates, like at 3 AM last night, which very few saw before the main essay vanished. This also includes the design for the Democratic Convention with Clinton as the victor which began (long before) May 24 when they were discussing the type of podium and so on. Also includes the expenses for the convention and how they were spent, including a million dollar plus party for the press, massive luxury transport. . .

Its easy enough to dig thrugh this. Just change the 3 numbers at the end of the URL (00000234 to 00000255 or whatever) I think there are about 8000 emails lurking around on DCLeaks which aren't publically indexed.

Got this from a drop box linked from one of the Abedin emails. One of an extensive plan for textures, podium styles, and even a set up for nasty Bill. Look in the lower right for the date. They already had the coronation planned long before the May 26 date on the document. Some DC outfit, Hargrove Inc., was paid millions for the planning and construction.

As I remember it, Bernie was still in the running in May.

IMO, that was from 2008 as part of her deal with Obama to concede and deliver the the PUMAs..

However, Hillary's own plans mean much. According to Game Change, she had her transition team in place in 2007, well before the Iowa caucus, which I think was held on January 2 in 2008. It's a combination of hubris, and obsessiveness and control freakiness.

If Bernie abandoned the D Party during the primary, he would have branded a traitor and a quitter - and it would have stuck. Worse still, he never would be able to return to the Senate and accomplish anything. The wiki leaks vindications would come as small comfort.

Bernie got hosed by the elites that knew better than he did. Now we have to wait and see if the Dems are beyond redemption or if they come out and finally swear an oath to progressivism. We'll know soon enough.

Lots of C99ers who want to justify getting back into the fold, especially via justifying Bernie's not only endorsing Hillary but actively campaigning for her with talking points that were, quite frankly, untrue.

And here I thought that after how they treated Bernie, and us, people would never return to Dems--especially given what's been revealed through Wikileaks. What a fool I was.

However, we could maybe not engage in revisionist history: "If Bernie ran as an indie, the MSM would have continued to laugh at him? He never would have gotten any coverage and he never would have gotten those crowds and contributions?"

Bernie ran as a Dem and the MSM laughed at him AND denied him coverage, and he got those crowds and contributions anyway.
