Offered for your consideration

The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, prejudices...to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill...and suspicion can destroy...and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all of its own -- for the children and the children yet unborn. And the pity of it is...that these things cannot be confined...to the Beltway Zone.

Simply thoughts: Hillary's email abuses are a crime, yet Trump's server being connected to Russian banks is not.

Attitudes: Right-wingers claim Lefties are traitors while Left-wingers declare Righties to be treasonous

Prejudices: Women fail miserably as leaders.

Given this information, I submit the following, referring to the selection of a scapegoat:

WHEREAS The Republican Party has no clue on how to live modern life without caves and clubs, AND

WHEREAS no female is to ever hold dominion over any male, AND

WHEREAS to Republicans, the law is something to be applied to everyone else,

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED

That James Comey did violate the law at the potential cost of his career, and possibly his freedom, in the attempt to prevent the election of Hillary Clinton by any means available, AND

That James Comey would probably be treated in a manner similarly to Scooter Libby in that he would have to go to trial, probably at his own expense, AND

That in the instance of James Comey being found guilty, will have his sentence commuted to time served, AND

That if a major GOP donor is feeling generous and a sense of duty to enhance party loyalty, will provide a comfortable sinecure to James Comey as partial restitution for the difficulties he endured in his service to the Republican Party and it's God-granted right to rule in perpetuity.

So Sayeth My Snarky Side

So what say you about this idea that Comey -as some claim- violated both the law and professional standards to manipulate the coming election?

Clinton at one time 'praised' Comey for his 'neutrality'.

Your welcome.

Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.

Explain to me the motivation for the Democratic Party to sabotage Hillary without someone waiting in the wings to replace her. Since there is no one, and no motive, I deliberately didn't include them in the resolution.

That's an excellent TZ episode, too.

I think this little announcement of Comey's is going to turn out to be a nothingburger. Emails can be searched electronically, such as for "HRC," "Hillary" and "Clinton," which should take him to problematic emails in no time flat. If he's going to drag this out until after the election, then I would think the electorate would see through the attempted manipulation. If anything, it might work against the Repugs.

Did he violate professional standards? It does seem so. As I understand it, he was told in no uncertain terms by his bosses not to make this announcement. I'm surprised he wasn't fired for insubordination a long time ago.

Was it against the law? The Hatch Act says government employees cannot engage in partisan politics. I think it would be impossible to prove that he did this for partisan reasons, rather than just trying to be open about what they had found. We may all believe that's BS, but belief is not proof.

But it will be interesting to see how this plays out!

bitten the worst. Where is it against the law to pursue violations of the law--on numerous occasions, undermining national defense and homeland security? As Trey Gowdy says: "Elections do not toll criminal investigations". Comey fucked himself by going along with Lyin' Loretta. He then realized by the outpouring of condemnation how badly he messed up. He ran a sham investigation headed by a bribed senior FBI agent (McCabe). There was a priori no intent to convict Clinton of anything worse than jaywalking. So now Comey is on the receiving end of lots of heat--that very heat is retrogradely being transmitted to Lyin' Loretta and thence to Barry Soetelo, currently watching his greatest accomplishment, the ACA, crumbling before his eyes.

So Comey is between a rock and a hard place. He's trying to redeem his reputation. My opinion:

have no clue about the workings of the FBI, nor their rules, it's impossible to make hide nor hair of the information. Hey, if the information makes Her Highness look bad that's all that matters. Anything else is up to DOJ, maybe others, but that's above my pay grade. They, themseves seem to have no clue as to how to proceed.

that seems to offer behind the scenes support for Comey's actions, without being too biased. Is worth a read: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/oct/31/the-real-story-behind-th...
