I have no money, no security, no family, except for an older brother with leukemia.
I have no potential for a better life, since I do not play the lottery. (Ok, occasionally, I do!)
All I have left is the ability to laugh at the absurdity.
In the movies, I always appreciated the guys about to get killed by firing squad demanding their blind folds being removed, and laughing at the shooters.
I won't make a difference, except to my employees and my beloved critters.

I am going to add this one because in the last two weeks it has been downloaded from my Printerest page at least 30 times (I have no clue as to how many times it has been downloaded from the people who downloaded it from me.). I just got off the phone with demented mother.
[Vent alert]. She thinks she is in a hotel in Indianapolis and will be leaving the Hotel room tomorrow. That's a conversation-stopper. It's a nursing home and she will be leaving over my dead body, even at $7500/month. After three weeks of no voice contact I had to tell her my name and relationship. She was very polite then. And I blathered. I am a pro blatherer. I wish I had a Xanax now. OMFG, I will contract with nurse-daughter for an out.

Totally get it
I have removed my mother from the home she has lived in since she was 28. I found her a great place but they tell her she can't do certain stuff. I have gone from beloved daughter to the devil. I keep hoping the short term memory loss will kick in and she will forget she moved. No luck so far. Ah well this to shall pass. Jeez she hadn't been there a week and she had a guy friend. Retired Physicist who has had a stroke.
And that is why
I believe that older people, even healthy ones; in fact, anyone, should have the option of physician assisted suicide. I hope I can recognize the right moment because I AM NOT GOING TO THE NURSING HOME! And for sure I am not moving into any of my kids's homes.

I never want to have the kind of struggle she has just to do simple things. They have extended life but what is the point without quality.
Mom and Dad and pills.
Mom was not demented until she overdosed on Vicodin.
Dad was reading the newspaper daily, and discussing it intelligently at age 92, until he took Vicodin, fell and hit his head on the corner of his dresser.
Mom was batshit crazy for about 10 years, Dad a month.
I refuse anything for pain stronger than aspirin.
And IcyHot.
Mom was a space cadet for almost 10 years until she passed away in her sleep at age 91.
She might have known me. The big joke in my family was that I couldn't boil an egg when I left home. I learned to cook in my 30's, and that last meal she ate was a soup I prepared. The last meal my Dad had before he crashed was mine.

You can't make this stuff up! I browsed that today in the e-mails, but I didn't know the Russian connection. Here's the evidence of stock ownership. Holy crap! A Russian connection may or may not be there, I don't know, but it looks like "Joule" is doing reverse combustion, I've been reading about that recently.
