Bernie Booed when stumping for Hillary in Seattle

As reported by The Stranger:

"I'm going to do everything I can to see that Hillary Clinton becomes president," Sanders said. The crowd booed.

Rigging was a popular subject:

At one point during Sanders' speech, as referenced the "rigged economy," someone shouted "they rigged you!"

The rally was held at the Showbox, a live music spot made famous in the grunge era, with a seating capacity of only 1100. The local Green party was outside before the doors opened, leafleting attendees for the Stein/Ajuma ticket.

On a sort of related note, we just got our voter's pamphlet the other day, and the layout of the presidential section is...interesting. The first two pages are the duopoly candidates, but the rest of the parties are just jammed together in no particular order. In addition to the national campaigns (Green and Libertarian) there was also the regional Constitution party and two local Socialist parties. In other words, somehow the duopoly gets top billing but everything else is just equivalent. I would think that sorting by party name or candidate name would be less prejudicial, but apparently, that would be too much fairness.

and he said "Yes" even after the evidence of the DNC doing everything they could to make sure that Hillary became the nominee.
Hey Bernie, no she didn't win it fair and square and the DNC even admitted it.
Here's the link to the article where the DNC admits that the voters were to assume that the DNC was in favor of Hillary before the primaries even started.
http://observer.com/2016/10/dnc-lawyers-argue-no-liability-neutrality-is...

The DNC lawyers’ argument here is that the charter’s demand that the chair and DNC staff remain neutral throughout the Democratic primary is a political promise, similar to policy proposals made in campaign platforms that aren’t fulfilled when in office. The lawyers cite an argument made in another court case stating that voters are free to vote out politicians. In their initial motion to dismiss the lawsuit, DNC lawyers argued Bernie Sanders supporters were aware the DNC and Wasserman Schultz were biased against their candidate. Now their argument is a neutral DNC and DNC chair are just political promises, leaving voters susceptible to the deception that the DNC would treat Clinton and Sanders equally. The lawyers argue liability only applies to consumer-merchant relationships

“The DNC may, within its First Amendment rights, chose to amend its rules to eliminate the provision upon which Plaintiffs’ theory relies,” added the DNC lawyers, arguing that because the DNC can amend its rules so its chair and staff don’t have to remain neutral or impartial in the Democratic presidential primaries, the court cannot render a ruling on the rule.

I have stated before that this election should be considered invalid because the DNC did everything it could to make sure that Bernie lost and Hillary won.
I bet that if the DNC made sure that Bernie won instead then Hillary's supporters would feel the same way.
But they continue to state that Bernie stole files from the DNC and that Russia is interfering with the election.
I'm still reading the diaries on DK just to see how they pretzlelize their thought processes to say that Hillary is the best qualified candidates for the presidency ever and that she isn't a warmonger.
Remember during the Bush years when people supported the leaks that Assange wrote that made Bush the bad guy?
That isn't the case anymore. Now he's a foreign agent working for Putin and has stolen the emails from Podesta to adversely affect the US presidential election and anyone who reads the stolen emails is complicit in Putin's actions and encourages Putin to do more of it.
The same people who didn't buy into the WMDs propaganda have swallowed the propaganda that Putin put Assange up to stealing the emails to put Trump in power.
Oh, and Assange is a dangerous rapist who fled Sweden so that he didn't have to answer for raping 2 women.
Even though at the time he left Sweden those charges had been dropped because there was no evidence that it happened.
And if anyone brings that up or says that if he returns to Sweden then there is a good chance that he'd be extradited to the USA.
And Gawd forbid anyone reminding them that Hillary asked if someone could drone his ass.

That is just how it is over there. It is a propaganda arm of the Party.

I was warned by site management twice in last two days for posting comments outside site rules.
Since no one can see them at Kos, you be the judge:

1) "My point was that '(angry) white male' is being used as a racist and sexist slur. Do you know who James Peck was? "(responding to the claim that such people are what's wrong with the country)

2)" If you mean those who thought usa govt was behind it, what's your point? Do you really think it wasn't? Please." (with regard to Assange loss of internet, that such people had major egg on their faces)

That's it. Not really sure what my thoughtcrimes were. They didn't tell me. The second one may be "right wing conspiracy theory."

So, they're making a legal claim that nothing they say should be believed. They're also making a legal claim that nothing that their Presidential selections say should be believed, and that it's all right and proper to lie and cheat to get elected/get someone elected who will eagerly lie to, cheat and steal from the public.

Then they say - vote for our lying candidate so that we can cheat her in... and of course we'll happily waste/steal time, effort and money you invested for the greater good and the hope of a future which otherwise might not exist at all and try to use it to bomb/'trade deal'-scam/cement a ruthless, insatiably greedy and mindlessly destructive oligarchy into place around the world... who'd vote for this?

I live in one of the bluest of blue states (WA State) in the county that had the highest percentage for Bernie in the March caucus. I've seen one Trump sign and a few signs for local and state races. Not one Hillary sign. I'm not sensing a whole heck of a lot of enthusiasm from anybody about any candidate for any elected position.

I belong to the local Dem party organization. A few weeks ago, they sent out an email, asking members to pick up Hillary signs and place them around the area. Over the weekend, I got another email from them. Seems they've received a "very low response" to their request. That means even the loyal Dem party folks among their membership aren't excited about their candidate.

We are not party loyalists in general. Both parties have screwed us over more than once. This is true for most western states. Every state out here has its own theory on which party is least likely to damage them while in office. Idaho for instance thinks its the rightest of republicans while we tend to go for the progressive populist when available. What I learned in this election was that my friends who are the rightest of republicans are actually looking for the same thing I am which is smarter government using our tax money in more effective ways to benefit the whole country instead of a few special intrests.

In and around Burlington: Zero for HRC on lawns. I've seen perhaps two in public green spaces. The rest are for local candidates, with a smattering of Jill and Johnson signs. No bumper stickers for HRC. (Of course, these are my personal observations and by no means have I been in every neighborhood in town).

On a recent drive to the Northeast Kingdom: Aside from local candidates, it was a tie between Trump and Johnson (no surprise, as this area of the state leans conservative / libertarian). Once again, ZERO for HRC. I think I saw a few Jill signs.

the Clinton campaign would figure out Bernie stumping for Hillary is a net negative.

The more he talks her up, the more pissed off his supporters get.

Gee, I wonder why he's doing it then, when the result is so predictable and he'd pointed out that he couldn't tell his supporters how to vote and took an out where he didn't have to concede to Hillary or release his delegates to Hillary - after issuing warnings to them that if he ever (was forced to) tell anyone how to vote, that they shouldn't. I just can't figure it out, lol. Looks almost like some sort of desperate last-ditch civil disobedience strategy in a ruthless police state which is still trying to maintain some masking veneer on the last trappings of the appearance of democracy to keep the rubes quiet to try to plausibly fake that last election, doesn't it?

regardless of where it originated. If it's known in the US, I doubt it's a stumper in Vicenza.

BTW, Va fa Napoli (sounds like "vanabola," or "fanabola" when said by angry Americans) means the same thing. Substituting "Naples" for "the Italian F word" is supposedly less crude, but it's still crude because everyone knows what it means. It's like our saying "eff you," or "freak you" rather than "Fuck you." Everyone knows what we're really saying. So, you probably shouldn't say it to a nun, even though nothing is wrong with saying "Naples." And, if someone in Italy says it to you, know that they're not kindly giving travel instructions to you because you are a tourist.

I wonder if Bernie's candidacy is the last time any progressive/leftist will every fully engage in democratic party primaries (or mid-term elections)? It seems the role handed to both Warren and Sanders is to mollify and divert any left based insurgency inside the party. I thought Warren would eventually have the same fate as Bernie as I believe that both Sanders and Warren had the same base. I wonder if Warren read the leaks about the banksters complained about her to Hillary, and the Dem establishment including Hillary did not come to her defense. In fact, wasn't Pelosi's response that Warren does not speak for the party?

up
0 users have voted.

"Party." Remember, the Senate Democratic Caucus (or Reid or Schumer or someone--I've forgotten) made Warren liaison to the left. Obama referred to his friends on the left, much as Adlai Stevenson referred to Republicans as his "friends on the right"--as though the left were now the party in opposition to to the Democratic President whom many of his "friends on the left" eagerly helped elect.

Clearly, the Democratic PTB no longer perceives the party as leftist, regardless of which side of the House and Senate they sit on, or which letter they put after their names. Millions of Americans who have no memory of anything before 1985, when the DLC began transforming the Democratic Party into a party that could get Woodward's vote, as well as Bernstein's. More millions are probably LOTE voters or can't or won't make it to the polls. Or don't even bother to register.

Anyway, IMO, FDR and LBJ were aberrations when it comes to fiscal policy. Well, not so much aberrations as trying to stave off possible revolution by throwing bones to the rabble, lest they rouse, as did the Roosskies about a century ago. In between, other administrations contented themselves for the most part with the Cold War, including Red baiting and scare tactics to keep us quiescent. And, of course, the occasional hot war, like Korea and Vietnam.

The last significant bone the rabble was thrown was Part D to Medicare, but that was a bone to the rabble and a big boon to PHRMA.

Just Went looking for a news piece on this and on the search results from Duck Duck Go I noticed this piece in the WaPo by Chris Cilizza, in Aug of 2015 .

"This Bernie Sanders crowd shot should make Hillary Clinton a little jittery"

The photo above is what 19,000 people packed into a basketball arena to hear Vermont socialist/independent Sen. Bernie Sanders looks like. What you don't see are the 9,000 other people who couldn't get into the arena but listened on loudspeakers outside...

I've written before about the Sanders' crowd phenomenon -- and how hard to know what it means (if anything). Portland is a known den of progressivism where President Obama drew massive crowds during his 2008 campaign; an estimated 75,000 people showed up for a rally in May 2008 for Obama.

But, 28,000 people! In August! Of an off year! I mean, that is a lot. A LOT.
(bolding mine)

The 2016 Dem Primary was the Greatest Fraud ever perpetuated on the American People.

I'm elated to read of the crowd in Seattle turning on him.

Found a video of his speech. According to the YouTube transcript at the 3:24 mark he makes the repulsive, traitorous about electing HRC we've all come to loathe and despise. But for some reason the video literally won't play. Strange, because I've been watching Christopher Hitchens and Russell Brand videos without problems.

Any more reports on the reactions of the crowd?

Thanks for writing this up hawkfish.

And btw, was compelled to donated to Jill Stein today after reading an email from Cornel West.

Love that Chris Hedges, I believe it was, referred to HRC as "Mitt Romney in drag."

Economic: -9.13, Social: -7.28,

It's a sad story.

Bernie Sanders had built a 15-Million American voter base, and was driving a large block of the Country toward a new policy consensus.

Despite being ripped-off from his deserved D-Party nomination (through election fraud, and voter disenfranchisement), Sanders with those numbers still wielded considerable political clout.

He could have used his moment and his masses to shine a big light on the Green Party, and build it into something potent. He could have run in a joint-ticket with Dr. Jill Stein and immediately pulled 30%-35% of the Country with his charisma, likability, and proven skills as a campaigner and fundraiser. We could have had a 3-way Election with a real chance (and a real voter block behind it) of pushing the DNC and RNC off their pedestal and monopoly position. He could have been seen as a real Revolutionary figure, and a movement leader who provided a new political option that was serious.

Instead, he backed away from the Revolution and threw the movement, and his political capital all away. He tried to pretend that some (limited) wording changes made to a committee platform paper was the "progress" --- when no President or member of Congress would ever be bound by it. Instead, he tried to put lipstick on the pig that is Hillary Clinton, even as she laughs at him behind his back, while violating his own message, and his own base in the process.

Now he can no longer draw the big crowds, and he no longer has a message that is believable. He missed his moment in History, and he will go down as no longer an historical, Revolutionary figure .... but as just a mere asterisk and footnote of the 2016 campaign.

Sanders missed his moment.

Interesting that this claim is being made just as the TPP corporate coup offshoring domestic law is to be shoved through by Obama, right after Her Royal Coronation.

They don't believe in law and order for the public good, but corporate law will be great - as long as they still think that it will enrich and empower them after they are no longer needed by the Global PTB and have no more protections than the rest of us, but a lot more money to be drained to the very top of the shit-heap.
