Votes for Stein
I'm curious how much support our current 3rd party candidates actually have. The main polling organizations can't be trusted, as they've shown an obvious bias, doing things like under representing independent voters, or completely excluding millennial voters.
So I thought to see if there was a vote pledge for Stein at all, to see if I could find some solid numbers. I did find a few things, but they don't tell me much about how much support she actually has. In fact, they make it look like the polling organizations are quite generous.
The first one I checked was at her own website, thinking that one would have the most supporters signing on to it. Turns out I was wrong. The total vote says 128, but I'm not sure if it changed to that after I pledged, or if it was 128 beforehand. But the total "Reactions" number is even lower number of 74, which I think may be more reflective of the total number who pledged "yes" instead of "maybe" or "no."
So I checked another one on DIY Roots Action. That one has 420 pledges, including mine. A better amount, but still not that great.
The best I found was a change.org petition at 1,025 pledges, including me again. That's still a far cry from the Green party's membership amount of 242,023.
So, I have a proposition, that every person intending to vote for Stein this November sign these pledges, and have those that you know are at least strongly considering voting for Stein sign them as well, and have those people share the pledges, and on and on. I'm hoping we can use these to get a better representation of how much support she actually has, and if she has strong enough support, that may be all it takes to convince more people to pledge their votes to her.
I did try signing each pledge twice to verify that they can't be artificially inflated that way. No idea if they can be signed by foreign citizens.

I suspect we will be in the weeds unil (s)election day.
If we even trust votes then. Trust in any of our systems is at an all time low, counting me, the only person whose vote and decision I rely on. Magic 8 Ball says: Future Murky.
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
I agree
And not because polling is rigged. Everyone I know well is vacillating like crazy. There is zero enthusiasm for Trump or Hillary, frank hatred for both that fluctuates with the latest outrageous act or comment and no info on Jill or Johnson readily available. Im betting a lot of people will make the final choice on election day.
In this day and age of the NSA
and wiretapping, along with the control of the Internet that we can already see, I don't even think we could get an accurate assessment even if all Stein supporters actually did this.
I'm not saying it's not a good idea--it is, if for no other reason that it would be damned satisfying to put it out there. I'm just saying that if you wanted to create the perception that a particular candidate had no support, and you had access to the national security framework (or had friends who have it), all you need to do is block a few thousand users at any given time to a particular domain.
Think that's crazy? There's a whole school of thought that demonstrates Facebook and Twitter indulging in such flim-flammery already (blocking posts, blocking subjects, blocking "trending"). So....I wouldn't take the lack of numbers on these sites as anything in particular.

Jill's website was a little shaky at first, but we got there.

I think the most non-hackable number from the elections will be the total percentage of the electorate who votes for the winner. If Her Heinous takes the crown with less than a quarter of the electorate voting for her, that's a fact that should be endlessly repeated to her champions. Legitimacy is not a crown this election will bestow, and nobody should be allowed to pretend otherwise.
Please help support caucus99percent!
The vast majority of people who vote for Green candidates --
are not members of the Green Party.
Hope that helps.

There's a poll that puts McMullin ahead of Stein
I don’t have a link handy, but on MSNBC this morning they were talking about a poll that had Jill Stein at 1% and Evan McMullin at 2%. But I have seen some polls where Jill hit 5%.
"We've done the impossible, and that makes us mighty."
never heard of McMulin until now. Wish I hadn't
former CIA operative, former chief policy director for the House Republican Conference in the U.S. House of Representatives.
What a nightmare this election is.
McMullin is a loose cannon
He got on the ballot in Virginia, I don't know how, but is supported by no party and has absolutely no chance (maxes out at 84 hypothetical electoral votes and will almost certainly get zero).

As I said
Polls like that can't be trusted, as they have a biased polling method.
I did my #DemExit and reregistered Green,
and will be voting Stein. I'd really like to see numbers for the total change in registrations for the two parties after the primary clusterfuck ended, but I doubt that we ever will- unless her heinous loses, in which case those numbers might well be made public along with calls for burnings-at-the-stake.
I hold out zero hope that Stein might win. However, if by some mischance enough of us Berners can push the Greens over 5%, perhaps I'll live long enough to see someone else win a seat or two under the Green banner.
The polls leave a lot of people out.
They now don't poll anyone under the age of 35. They don't poll independents. They don't poll people who didn't vote in 2012.
One of the many things that Bernie achieved was getting A LOT of millenials to register to vote. But they aren't included in the polls.
So the people more likely to vote for Stein are not even being polled. We are kept in the dark. I haven't seen any numbers for internal polls by the Stein campaign.
Life is strong. I'm weak, but Life is strong.
