On Friday there was a document dump of some of the FBI investigation of Hillary Clinton's use of a private sever she stashed in her basement. A lot of people were out having fun on the long holiday weekend. That's why this was released on late Friday afternoon. Let's keep this story alive because the details of what Clinton did are quite damning and serious.
Here's a link to the FBI documents:
https://vault.fbi.gov/hillary-r.-clinton/hillary-r.-clinton-part-01-of-0... https://vault.fbi.gov/hillary-r.-clinton/hillary-r.-clinton-part-02-of-0...
Here's a link to my previous post about the FBI documents:
https://www.reddit.com/r/WayOfTheBern/comments/50uuy0/clinton_had_two_em...
Here are a few highlights from the FBI documents:
- Clinton used 3 private servers while Secretary of State all were kept in her basement
- The emails used no encryption
- An email account using the sever was hacked successfully January 2013
- A computer and thumb drive with the entire archive of her emails is LOST after being sent in the mail
- She didn't turn over a single one of the 13 mobile devices she used
- She used 5 iPads and turned over 3 to the FBI, none had any emails on them
- There are NO emails from 1/19/09 to 3/18/09 the first three months of her being secretary of state and the server used during this time was not turned over
- There are NO emails for 18 other days, some days were during hurricane Irene when Clinton used an iPad that has not been turned over.
- Clinton emailed Obama from her private email address while overseas (the number of times is redacted) she regularly used her device and private email while overseas
- Clinton's staff asked the state department about replacing her malfunctioning blackberry with a state issued device. When told it would be subject to FOIA requests, they bought a new device at a store in DC, (a regular store with no government vetting or security to ensure the device had not been tampered with.
- Clinton speculated C referenced paragraphs in alphabetical order not Confidential
- Clinton does not know how to or understand how to make something classified - she does not recall receiving any training or guidance about classifying documents
- When the FBI showed Clinton emails that were marked from confidential to top secret said she didn't think her emails contained classified materials
Some other information from the FBI documents:
- Clinton did NOT tell the FBI about the third server. The FBI learned about it and examined it later
- The location of replaced Clinton devices - 13 of them - was often unknown. New devices were purchased from Washington D.C. stores by Clinton's assistants
- 3 DS's - diplomatic security agents told the FBI that Clinton brought her unprotected devices into her office a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF)
- Clinton had personal devices and computers in her home SCIF
- Clinton did not use SMART - the government archival retrieval software to save work related emails so she was required to print them out and save them while in office
- copy of all of clinton's emails was exported in September 2014 and given to Cheryl Mills and Heather Samuelson, a lawyer, but the FBI can't find the repository used to extract these emails
- Samuelson, Clinton's attorney, sometimes used only the TO or FROM to determine is an email was personal and did not look at the content
- 940 emails were still in the gmail account as of 6/21/16. 302 of them work emails that had not been turned over to the fbi in the December 2014 set of emails Clinton produced to the state department
- When a secure fax line was unavailable Clinton had Sullivan send classified talking points as an unclassified document without a heading

On Morning Joe this morning, Joe describing the TWO blackberries taken outside and SMASHED with a hammer. Also, allowing Cheryl Mills to SIT IN ON ALL THE INTERVIEW - even tho' she was liable to be asked to testify herself at a later date. Also, noting, questions were asked 4th of July weekend, this info released the Friday of Labor Day Weekend. WHO is still STUPID enough to think there isn't a 24/7 news cycle now???? Goddesses Help Us.
Joe - paraphrase - FBI Director was practically forbidden from indicting Clinton, so did as much as he could, taking SO LONG, releasing so much information to CYA. Our FBI.
Did anyone ever think we'd miss J EDgar Hoover?
The mind, what's left of it, boggles.
Both Cheryl Mills AND Heather Samuelson sat in, apparently
...and presumably, they'll want more info (someone will!) from Samuelson in the future.

Cheryl Mills also represented Bill during Emailgate
There is a lot more information from the people commenting on this article, so I hope that people read it on the way of the bern.
Conflict of interest? You betcha, read more below what I've blockquoted.
People know that Hillary was told to keep her foundation's business separate from her duties at the state department. Apparently Obama also had concerns about Bill too using his wife's position and his contacts to further enrich the foundation. I wonder if Obama even thought that Bill would use her position to pad his own pocket when he gave speeches to whoever Hillary was doing business with?

Mills represented Bill as far back as his impeachment

Thanks, I left that out of my comment
Mills has been a Clinton insider going back to his administration and I don't see how it was legal for her, Abedin and others to work for the state department, the foundation and the other foundation, Teneco?
It probably wasn't, but who the hell in our government cares about ethics?
Our government is corrupted at every level and I don't know if we have ever had a representative government.
Instead of being paid in cash like during the robber barons days, lobbying which accomplishes the same thing is legal.
Figure that out.

Teneo is sort of a PR firm on steroids
Several of ex staffers put it together. Abedin was/is involved. Doug Band, as I recall. The Kelly guy from Ireland. Bill is there main advertising tool. I haven't heard that Mills is connected (but who knows?)

I also hope people with additional info post it to that thread at WoyB too.

IT security training
All federal employees are required by law to pass an IT Security Awareness training course every year. If they don't meet the deadline for successful completion of the course, the penalty is loss of network access.
Legal Citation: Pub. L. 100-235, 5 CFR 930.301
OK, so Hillary says she could not remember the training because she suffered a concussion. But she was the Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013. She was required to repeat the IT Security Awareness training 4-5 times!

And Each Time She Relied on Underlings to Attend, so that
She Didn't Have To!
Training is for lesser mortals, you know. She relied on them to attend. She didn't have to. They were supposed to know about security, so that she didn't have to worry about it. And they were supposed to be quiet about what they learned. Maybe "C" meant paragraph number 3. Maybe it meant "Clinton." Who knew it meant "Classified?" Don't ask, don't tell, I'm sayin!"
"All Life is Problem Solving" - Karl Popper
"C" was for "Confidential"
Donald Trump said it meant "classified," but he was wrong.
Emails Were Confidential, With a ‘C’
"We've done the impossible, and that makes us mighty."
This is rather odd, in that classified material
that I handled was never 'portion marked.' (A term that I've never heard, actually.)
In my experience, classified material--meaning Confidential and Secret, at my level of clearance--was clearly denoted with an appropriate document cover. Of course, I was initially employed by a DOD private sector/civilian contractor, and later by two branches of the military as a federal civilian employee. IOW, not by the State Department.
(Full disclosure, I didn't handle classified 'emails,' since they weren't routinely used during my Civil Service career.)
But, still--one could easily distinguish a classified document. And, the protocol for handling them was very strict, including the transportation and disposal of them.

And I can vouch for the fact
That that training is the worst class we take. You can't skip ahead like in most training. No, you have to complete each & every step. And it's the same every year. It's so boring.
But once taken, there's no way you'd forget it.
But it's OK because Hillary
But it's OK because Hillary can again cite the Bush Admin as precedent, in this case of a previous incompetent for President whose Administration just coincidentally happened to represent corporations rather than the public interest, but who only got part-way through trashing the very concept of democracy and the entire globe. Hillary plans to finish the job.

my head was spinning. I commented below - there are too damn many moving parts in all this crap (and too many versions, frankly - er, too many INCOMPLETE versions) to keep this stuff straight, frankly...

I'll say!
Just an ever growing list of devices, copies, errors, skipped training, complicit aides...it truly boggles the mind.
The rules are not for Clintons!!!!
It does seem unlikely that they didn't just explode
in inabilities, lack of knowledge and shortcuts, with a generous shake of hubris.

heard on Thom Hartmann today...
some Republican guy asked about this. Thom's reply was classic cover-up. First he acted like "gosh, I don't know what's involved with being Secretary of State so I can't really say if this is unusual..." then as soon as he could he switched it to Trump. "We don't really know about Trump's emails".
I turned off the radio at that point. Thom is one of the bigger disappointments of this year.
"We don't know about trumps emails"
Since when do I care about a private citizens emails? But a public servant who violate the records act, handles classified info incorrectly, and has the appearance of impropriety, that I care about.
Thom goes crazy every four years
Every four years, Thom becomes a hard core Democratic party partisan. Wait a few months after the election and he will come to his senses.
Sounds like another website.

I agree
I've been listening to TH regularly since 08, never thought I would see this behavior from him. I stopped listening to him about a month ago for the most part. Whatever happened to Bernie must have happened to him also?
We listened to Thom for years, including his union-
based (UAW-sponsored) IE America Radio Network, which we streamed.
At one time, we really liked Thom. His wife Louise almost always recognized my voice when I called in--which was frequent.
But, Thom was always a bit of a Dem Party/partisan shill--at least, when push came to shove (IMO).
Gotta say, though, that he was generally informative; so, we don't regret listening to his program. Overall, it was a good experience.
(That is, once I got over his dull presentation. I actually found it easier to listen to Al Franken with his monotone voice, than I did Thom--until I got used to Thom's delivery.)

Good thing that such things as rules, ethics and law do not apply to the Clintons, or this could be embarrassing for the poor, senile little dears...

There are SO MANY DETAILS in all of this nothingburger
it's hard to get them all out. I got a couple handfuls of info out the other day I had not seen reported anywhere.
Here are some additions to what you've compiled. As I understood it, the important factor about her emailing Obama, as recorded in the notes, and which I did not indicate in my essay, was that she sent those emails in countries where she had been warned there were folks who would be more likely to attempt to hack the communication, and that she was writing about future DRONE STRIKES which is absolutely classified information.
Heather Samuelson is an attorney, but I do not believe she acted in a capacity as Clinton's attorney, per se. In addition to the work she did selecting which emails were to be turned over to State, she also had worked while Clinton was at State as a White House liaison to State. Her work on going through the emails was 'supervised' by Mills and Kendall, who were acting as attorneys for Clinton. I think there are real problems with how she selected what to turn over, and I have not seen anyone address this in reg'lar media. I listed bullets of what she told the FBI were the criteria she used to sort in my essay this weekend.
Neither here nor there, I believe I read that Samuelson subsequently went to work for the White House. It is believed she works for the campaign at present since she apparently lives in the Bronx.
Cooper gave an explanation about what happened to at least some of the Blackberries and iPads, and that was that he took a hammer to them, so the FBI *did* get some information as to what happened to them - which is not to say that information was correct or sufficient by any means.
Someone commented that there are sure a lot of condiments on the nothingburger - it's certainly the most complicated and complex nothingburger I've ever seen...

I'm thinking she was in over her head
It had never occurred to me before - part of my 2016 eye-opening, I guess - but what background did HRC have to be SoS? Albright and Rice are foreign relations scholars, Powell an expert in global military strategy, Kerry with many years on the Foreign Relations committee (yes?). And H? Meeting heads of state and diplomats as First Lady? When did she ever have executive responsibilities for a large organization? (Am I missing something in her bio?)
But she negotiated well, it seems, and BHO perhaps didn't have the experience to see her shortcomings for what they were?
She negotiated extremely well with UBS.
When the IRS was after the names of 50,000+ tax cheats, she negotiated it down to around 4,500 names.
And afterwards, Bill Got like $1.5m in speaking fees, UBS donated over $500,000 to the foundation, and was involved in $32 million in loans.
Oh, you meant negotiate for the US? Looks like we got screwed.
http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2015/07/hillary-helps-a-bank...
Ahh - I was thinking of her negotiations
To get the position in the first place. But yes, she seems to have done well connecting donors with favors in a smoking gun free way. And that is a skill.
This is a great question, Fleur
I don't think that she did have any experience to be secretary of state and Obama had to know that she was had always backed any military intervention that came along.
This article tells us what we can expect if she becomes president and appoints the neocons that were in the Bush administration. Especially the Kagans and the Zionists.

Comey basically said the same thing
to the House Oversight Committee. He drew up just short of saying she was inept.
Better to be inept than
criminally responsible! I guess? /s
well...
ineptitude doesn't usually work as a defense with the FBI. Unless you're Hillary!
Nice side by side comments in this video
Hillary's comments followed by Comey's comments on those topics:

Similar side-by-side lie comparison appeared after Comey
