Drawn by one of the most famous editorial cartoonists of the 20th century, Sir David Low's classic "Rendezvous" cartoon published on September 20, 1939 in the London Evening Standard depicts Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin celebrating "Poland's corpse" and the cynicism embedded in their early wartime alliance. The signing of the 1938 Molotov-Ribbentropp Pact gave Hitler the green light to aggressively pursue his war aims and assured him, at least for the time being, that he would not have to fight a two-front war.

but everybody here knows I am full of shit. Hee hee. Maybe that's why Good News Tues is so fun, I don't know.
I hate to wait until 7 pm now, but that's when I told peeps it would be going up, so 7 pm it is!
I definitely feel like this community needs the series, stat. Life is so rotten in 2016, you know? Just writing the essay earlier cheered me right the fuck up!
had to do an essay in Gr.11 English on a protest song. We had so much fun. She alternately howled with laughter or gasped at the notion of a draft for war as I explained the context, practically line by line. It's just the best. Cheers, mate!

Resilience: practical action to improve things we can control.
3D+: developing language for postmodern spirituality.
The current working assumption appears to be that our Shroedinger's Cat system is still alive. But what if we all suspect it's not, and the real problem is we just can't bring ourselves to open the box?
The earth is a multibillion-year-old sphere.
The Nazis killed millions of Jews.
On 9/11/01 a Boeing 757 (AA77) flew into the Pentagon.
AGCC is happening.
If you cannot accept these facts, I cannot fake an interest in any of your opinions.
What will the 'serious people' who come here and read think of such flippancy about the fascism that's going on here. They will use this to not take us seriously.
Got another #NoDAPL link for you, this from early c99p member wendy davis at her site (she tried hanging here before the Ides thing, but, best I can figure felt she was too far left and unreformed hippie-ish even for the original gang, so she's carrying on at her Café Babylon - now watch this remark get me into trouble!):
she was here for a bit and I enjoyed what she had to say. I'm 'too far left' for a lot of people here but I don't think it matters as this place is a good mix of the now defunct left, center, right political spectrum they tweaked so bad it's a joke. I'm finding people who used to find me politically 'radical' in real life have been radicalized by what's going on. The powers that be and the puppet pols and their propaganda arm the media are just not believable to anyone with an unwashed brain. Thanks for the link I book marked it and will read her excellent blog. Wasn't she a 'firebagger' for a while?
around since the original Google Group was formed, but, I must say that (IMO) it was a major loss to the progressive blogging Community when FDL folded.
I never understood 'why' she sold. At one point, Jane was out a lot because of her Poodle's brain tumor (or whatever). But, I thought that the treatment was successful, and that she (Hamsher) returned to FDL.
For a while, I didn't check in there as much, and before I knew it--I saw that she was stepping aside--selling it to Kevin and crew.
As for DKos, I'll be there 12 years in November, though I didn't post or comment there (to speak of) for more than a few years. I drifted to DKos after I left the Dem Party, because they scr*wed over Governor Dean so badly. (I was a pretty far gone Deniac--belonged to '2' DFA Chapters--whew!)
Anyhoo, IMO, Hamsher allowed expression of more leftist views, than Kos ever did.

of her own (a hip replacement that went badly and perhaps more serious stuff). So far as I'm aware - and I stayed to the bitter end when FDL officially became Shadowproof (a site committed from the start to social movements eschewing pols and parties entirely) - there never was a transfer of ownership. Hamsher wrote a farewell post in which she handed over running the site to Kevin Gosztola as managing editor, Dan Wright, and Brian S. (always forget his last name, the prison project guy).
Since then these three paid journalists have added Joanne Leon to their staff and a young Middle Eastern-American female reporter, Ranier K(?). So far as I know, they are.all paid staff of Shadowproof operating beneath the FDL Media Group umbrella.
They do solicit funds from time to time (like to pay Rania's salary), but seem to keep the lights on and the small staff housed and fed without running perpetual fundraisers.
Quite honestly, I've been pretty impressed with them despiteva bias over unfortunate things said by the "youngsters" as they made it clear the future, they believed, belongs to them. More than a year later I can't disagree. It's not FDL, but I do think their instincts to cover social movements rather than politics has turned out to be correcr.
I was a member and when dkos got all authoritarian and mean time spent a lot of time there. I didn't like the format as I'm more of a commenter then a essay writer.
One more piece of shit like this election and they'll turn me into a goddamned Bolshevik.

that's the only requirement. Give a good, reasoned argument why a policy is wrong but which differs from what they want to hear and you're a fringe-y person who doesn't need to be listened to. Repeat what they say with a lot of foul language and they act nice to you, no matter how much of a fool you might be...Markos, Turkana, Teacher Ken are in that category.

I should specify that Mean Girls was on MTV last night.

Shiz...
what problems are you having with the formatting? Can I help?
Oh, not a thing, Johnny!
I just meant that I was formatting the articles in the diary and such. It's a long process, mostly because I'm a perfectionist.
So, seriously, no problems at all. It just takes time and, as some of you may very well know, I have zero patience. Zip, zero, nada.
Besides, the whole thing is done now, so I'm a happy camper. Heh.
