50 House Repugs Call for Special Prosecutor on Clinton Foundation

From The Hill

GOP lawmakers call for Clinton Foundation special prosecutor

More than 50 House Republicans on Tuesday urged the Justice Department to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate whether Clinton Foundation donors had unusual access to Hillary Clinton while she served as secretary of State.

Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Texas), a former United States attorney, spearheaded a letter to Attorney General Loretta Lynch requesting her department follow up on an Associated Press report that found some of the private interests who secured meetings with Clinton had donated to her family’s foundation.

“All of this makes it very unclear where the State Department ended and where the Clinton Foundation began,” the lawmakers wrote. “The facts as they have been reported surrounding the Clinton Foundation warrant an investigation that is beyond reproach and beyond any appearance of political favoritism. Appointing a special counsel is a necessary step at this juncture.”

The article also lists that the House Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing in September on whether Clinton committed perjury in her Benghazi testimony in 2015.

IN OTHER NEWS From the AP

Grassley: FBI Improperly Restricting Access to Clinton Docs

In a letter sent Wednesday to the Senate's security director, Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley asked that unclassified portions of the FBI documents be provided to his staff. The move appears to be an end run around strict restrictions imposed by the FBI, which warned members of Congress not to leak documents from its investigation involving the Democratic presidential nominee.

"As I have expressed to the FBI in the past, it is inappropriate to unnecessarily mingle classified and unclassified information," Grassley wrote Wednesday to Senate Security Director Michael DiSilvestro. "Accordingly, as you have done on similar occasions in the past, please provide the Judiciary Committee with a copy of the unclassified FBI documents from the production."

FBI case files are typically kept confidential after an investigation is closed without a recommendation for charges, and the Clinton documents were sent to Congress accompanied by written warnings not to leak the information.

FBI Expected to Release Hillary Clinton Interview Notes and Case Documents in Coming Days

The FBI is working to release to the public several documents at the heart of its decision not to recommend charges against Hillary Clinton for her use of a private email server during her tenure as secretary of state, sources told ABC News today.

The documents are expected to be released in the coming days in response to several requests from media organizations under the Freedom of Information Act, sources said.

It’s unclear exactly which documents will be released. But CNN — one of the media organizations to file a FOIA request and the first to report on the pending response — said the release will include the FBI’s report to the Justice Department detailing its recommendations in the case and FBI notes, known as a 302, from Clinton’s voluntary interview with agents.

The article doesn't say who all the 50 are. I will be very disappointed if my tea bagger congress critter isn't one of the 50.

And FBI documents being released in a few days? Yes, please.

Drip, drip, drip. With enough time and water you can carve out the Grand Canyon. I'll be happy if the Clintons just go away. (Although I wouldn't mind seeing Hillary in an orange jumpsuit.)

Unfortunately, I think she wore an orange jumpsuit on the campaign trail. It wasn't pretty.

Worn to do housework, not meant to be worn outside the house (other than hanging up laundry).

She's one step away from Mrs. Roper's caftans/muumuus with oversized bead necklaces.

There is no excuse for her to look like this. #1, those clothes cost too much to look so bad (although there's something about money not buying taste.) #2, she has a full-time traveling hair dresser & makeup artist.

My theory: I have a friend who's hypothyroid due to an immune system issue and the first thing she complains about when her synthroid needs to be adjusted is how her hair looks like shit. Playing arm chair dr, I wonder if that's what's up with Hillary's hair. Somebody said that armour thyroid (which Clinton is on) is more variable than synthroid. Pure speculation on my part, of course.

It's pretty bad when $600 haircuts (not including color), and a full-time hair stylist and makeup artist can't make you look better than a wild haired democratic socialist who springs for $10 haircuts. But then, isnt there's something about "we earn our face".

Lynch let Comey decide whether or not to indict clinton. Why did the republicans go to her with this? Why not take it to, say, the head of the Interior Dept, Sally Jewell? Or the Secretary of Education. Or the mayor of my local town of 300. What the hell are they smoking to think do nothing, ladder climbing Lynch would actually investigate this?? Come on repubs, you're slipping badly....

They've been crying wolf every time Hilary changes a $5 bill, and now there's something that ought to sink the Clinton ship and I'm afraid it will be regarded as just another GOP witch hunt.

The author of this article goes into great detail about how swarmy the Clintons are as well as the people and governments that donated to them.

Of particular note are the Gulf monarchies such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar whose massive donations belie the fact that their oppression of women runs contradictory to Clinton’s self-styled ‘feminism’ and belief “that the rights of women and girls is the unfinished business of the 21st Century.” Is collaborating with feudal monarchies whose subjugation of women is the stuff of infamy really Clinton’s idea of feminism? Or, is it rather that Clinton merely uses issues such as women’s rights as a dog whistle for loyal liberals while groveling before the high councilors of the imperial priesthood?

Next he writes about the neoconservative tapeworms that have endorsed her run for president, while many diarist on DK happily write how these people are endorsing her only because Trump is such a big danger to this country and his views on NATO not paying their way.
Anyone else see how after the emails came out that showed how the DNC collaborated on making sure that Bernie wouldn't win the election, that instead of talking about what the DNC did, they changed the subject and blamed it on Russia. And how DK and many other websites are tying Trump to Russia? Never mind that Hillary helped Boeing sell their jets to Russia and then Boeing donated to the Clinton foundation. Or how Hillary's state department helped Russia with getting over 20% of our country's uranium?
Some of the neocon tapeworms.

The sheer dollar amounts are staggering. Perhaps then it comes as no surprise just why nearly every single influential figure in the military-industrial-financial-surveillance complex – from General John Allen to death squad coordinator extraordinaire John Negroponte, from neocon tapeworms such as Max Boot, Robert Kagan, and Eliot Cohen to billionaire barbarocrats like the Koch Brothers, George Soros, and Warren Buffett – is backing Hillary Clinton. Not only is she good for Empire, she’s good for business. And ultimately, that’s what this is all about, isn’t it?

Please read the rest of the article.
It also goes into detail about Huma Abedin's ties to the House of Saud and ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.
And Trump's supposed ties to Putin and Russia.

hadn't actually occurred to me. Nor the idea of yelling at the Dems generally. I just kind of assume they won't answer/respond in any helpful way, kind of like I don't assume the wall will help me do dishes in the evenings, but perhaps it's still worth, even at this late date, writing an Incredibly Angry Letter calling on the Democratic Party to investigate Clinton, just to register that there are Democrats who retain a sense of justice not determined by party.

All Rethug Congresscritters (and select Blue Dog Dems) have received a memo from Bill Kristol and Robert Kagan, on PNAC stationary, of course. I've seen it. It says:

"We know you hate her, but lay off, you mofos. She's the one we want. She'll play ball with the MIC, Big Pharma, Wall Street and the banks. Leave her the fuck alone. Now, once she's in, you can beat her up all you want. You can even impeach her, as long as the Senate doesn't convict. Capisce?"
