Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
But framing is coming to an end.
I will be hoping to pass inspection next week, with an "OK" to "wrap".
Here is my project with all the shear paneling installed, the roof sheathing on, & the facia attached.
Back to the inside looking up to the roof sheathing.
The sheathing has a foil "radiant" layer on the inside.
And here is the steel beam connection from the "ridge" to the "hip" beams.
That`s almost it for this project.
I`ll show you all the extraneous roof connections next time.
That`s where it gets complicated.
Then, it`ll be on to the next one.
I shall come back to this one for more work down the road.
BTW, I do much more than framing buildings.
I`m also a "master carpenter" when it comes to finish work.
I should post some of my work published in magazines, but I only want to brag.
I do love the work I do, (if you can`t tell)
I have a few positive/negative stones with fossil shells much smaller. Guess they grew larger there (later, too, as a guess).

well, knucklehead does amazing work with a point and shoot camera, every bit as good as stuff i see pros do with high end equipment.
i use a dslr because i learned to do photographic work on a 35mm slr (film camera) and i'm just more comfortable with a lot of controls that i can set manually rather than using menus. there are some advantages that the dslr has over most point and shoots for telephoto shots, but for an awful lot of applications, you can get similar results with far less expensive equipment.

I shall post some shots for you next Friday.
They`ll be themed; Peek-a-Booze
See you next Friday evening.
and beautiful photographs of them. I really like the feeling of softness that your photos capture - soft light plus the softness that comes with centuries of wear. Thank you.

Knucklehead
Your work continually astonishes.
Gëzuar!!

looking great, knuck!
you should both post some of your work published in magazines and brag.
One more...
Gëzuar!!
from a reasonably stable genius.
I`ll be right back.
I just picked up this stone a few days ago.
In the wheelbarrow

Where is the stone from?
The Ammonite my son wanted me to take a shot of, came from the Dorset coast.

Stone?
From across the street in my neighbor`s yard.
I do also make my own fossils.

evening bollox...
thanks for posting! i was just starting to get ready to put one together, but i'm glad that you were able to get to it earlier.
so here's some stuff i shot recently while i was testing out a macro lens:
Thanks Joe
I didn't want to disturb anything, but people like to see member photos...
I should probably invest in a better camera/varied lenses, given your shots.

Here`s a little pavilion with a fireplace surrounded by a pond.
Start here
Keep going
A light will hang here.
Start covering your geometry.
Don`t forget the fireplace. Start it now.
There will be an outdoor BBQ.
Keep up the thought process.
Remember the creature comforts.
And the "atmosphere"
You didn`t forget the BBQ did you?
Stock the pond with beauties.
And flying wonders.
And do not forget a 52" flat screen TV above that hand made fireplace.
I did mention the saltwater Jacuzzi overlooking the pavilion, right?
Well just relax, I have more.
Enjoy.

Very nice, but I suspect there's a dragonfly
within that collection...
Not keen on dragonflies. They tend to not get out of your way. The mere idea of dragonfly with a 6ft wingspan in pre-historic times makes me nervous.
Bumble Bees I like.

T&G on the roof detail? Very nice.

Your work is stunning.
Thank you for sharing. More, please!

Okay, Knucklehead.
I'll look forward to seeing them.

How about some standing stones?
Here's some from Orkney. These circles were created 4-5000 years ago, and predate Stonehenge.

Stenness Standing stones

And perhaps the oldest known village - Skara Brae.
Now that's getting stoned! Well at least stone aged.

Suspense
I love the seemingly weightless stone suspended between the other two.
Great composition of an optical illusion.

Early one morning this week
I had the pleasure of witnessing these beautiful newlyweds, photographing each other.
