Stein--Two New States and Two New States
Yet another daily update on the Jill Stein and the Green Party front!
Today, Stein gained ballot access in two additional states--Idaho (4 electoral votes) and Alabama (9 electoral votes). These additional 13 votes bring her total electoral vote ballot potential count up to 438 as she now has direct ballot access in 37 states plus Washington D.C.
That leaves her 100 electoral votes short of the total number of electoral votes available (538 total votes--one for each Senator and Representative in Congress, and 3 additional from Washington D.C.).
Of those 100, she does have write-in status for 42 electoral votes (North Carolina, Georgia, and Indiana). So at least those of you in those states can vote for her, which technically brings her access up to 480 electoral votes! But the likelihood of Stein winning these states is extremely low because her name won't even be visible.
Things also moved forward in two additional states today. Signatures were submitted to get Stein on the ballot in New Hampshire and Virginia. Now we just wait there for the process to play out.

Go Team Green Party!
How are the fledgling Green Parties doing in these states?
The ruling classes need an extra party to make the rest of us feel as if we participate in democracy. That's what the Democrats are for. They make the US more durable than the Soviet Union was.
The biggest race I've seen is the Baltimore mayoral race
Of course there, the Green and the Dem are suing to keep another guy off the ballot for missing the deadline. Not sure how I feel about that.

Map: Green Party Ballot Access By State
Not yet updated for AL and ID. But looking good.

I think your graphic is reasonable. Yes, some may have to
write in. I did that for Teachout for Gov in NY, I have no idea if my non-bubble vote counted.
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
Not my graphic technically.
I just linked to some twitter image. But I'll take credit.
Yeah I always wonder if they actually count the write ins.

Write-ins usually require paperwork
That is what the orange states in the map mean. If you don't have that paperwork, they won't get counted. So "write in status" means the name is not on the ballot, but it will actually get counted (usual caveats apply...)
This is actually pretty good work by Jill's team. Back in early June when I started looking at her as a candidate, I was expecting they would only have write-in status in most states. The reality three months later is better than I ever hoped for!

Amazing what you can do with money.
I started sending her money around the time Bernie endorsed Hillary (wish I had started after ny, or California at the latest).
I know from fundraising emails that they've used the extra donations from Berners to hire people to get signatures and to sue states (like pa) to get onerous requirements reduced.
My friends and I once
My friends and I once jokingly wrote each other in on a low ballot race where there were no candidates listed. When the results were posted, we looked and our names were there. So, assuming vote counters are being honest, write in votes are counted.
Write-in rules by state
https://ballotpedia.org/Ballot_access_for_presidential_candidates
The link includes a map by state. In IL there is supposed to be a list at the polling place available on request of any candidates who have filed the paperwork for write-in status. There are probably similar rules in other states.
I didn't know you could do that
I just skipped the governor and voted everything else. I would've liked to write Teachout in.
